Hi guys,
Just wonder if there's an easy way (reg trick or something) to disable all vibration on HD Mini? I found it annoying when a phone does vibrate, so would like to make sure it NEVER vibrates, no matter what.
I know it is possible to disable vibration in settings, but not all of it — I was unable to figure out how to disable the vibration of 5 keys below the screen, for instance.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Bump. Still no ideas how to do that, HTC support didn't reply to my email and it's still very annoying...
Does anyone know if IGO8 works with the mini? I am seriously considering this device since I at the point of being able to renew my contract.
Would love to know if anyone knows. Thanks!!!
Cpt_Chaos,
Sorry, how does your question relate to my topic? Still waiting for the clues though...
I am also wondering how to disable to haptic feedback whenever i press the touch keyboard.
Hi, I am really sorry for the mix up. I had2 threads open in different tabs and this was one of the 2 that I was reading. Sorry for posting in the wrong thread. It was later and I didnt notice the mistake.

Yep, got it installed. Which specific setting should I look for?
Also got the same problem on both keyboard and the 5 keys. Any suggestion?
tactical bump
Right, so we got an official reply from HTC support: disabling haptic feedback for the 5 hard keys is not possible.
Looks like I am going to sell the damn thing.

Can you please tell me how long did you wait for the reply? I'm still waiting for an answer about my email/Imap problem.

1 thing that bugs me about the X1 is that when I make a call or receive a call I press the display with my ear and I'm entering menues and possibly even changing settings without knowing it.
Is there a way to automatically lock the screen when making a call or receiving a call? (like it's done with the power button)
Any help is appreciated
It should be possible to steal the registry settings from a TyTn 2 device or Touch Pro for that setting. Anyone here know the specific registry settings?
As an alternative search the Kaiser forums, someone over there will have the details.
My x1 does this anyway
After being on a call for around seven seconds, the screen locks and only activates again by pressing power, hang up or answer call (Green/pickup)
No idea if this is intended...but its certainly a good idea.

I found this over at the Kaiser forum: S2U2
This app has the screenlock/screenpoweroff feature among others. Check it out. It's free too!
Thank you for the replies!

I works on the X1, but sometimes the app fails to bring itself to the front. So it appears nothing happened when in fact the display is locked. This happens alot in landscape. To set things right again just go to portrait mode and tap the iLock icon twice (if it's already running it will shutdown itself, tap again and it starts).
EDIT!!
I found a fix for the landscape bug. Change display from direct draw to Raw Buffer.

Mine does the same, it turns off and I must press the power button to activate again..
I think that S2U2 was fun for a while but nothing more than that. What i wan't is something that uses the standard lock activated by the "No"-key and turns it on automatic. Dosen't some other WM phone have these issues?

Hi fotoingo,
This is just what I needed - thanks.
As a non dev and just returning to WinMo after a long absence, please can you advise how I would get the hard keys on the X1 to work during a call and just disable the touchscreen?
Thanks

for all s2u2 fanatics out there. run the version 1.22 its the most stable for X1 and disable backligt check and direct draw off, never hangs or anything at all.
there are better solutions for win mo phones then s2u2, otherwise buy an iphone...
hi all,
i would like to ask hd users if it has a haptic feedback or if it vibrates whenever i touch the screen. is it built in? i am thinking of getting either the td2 or hd.
thanks everyone!
It does, but not for every touch you make, only for certain buttons etc.
I've only had a quick go on a Touch Diamond 2, but it felt pretty similar to the HD with a Topaz based ROM installed to me. From what I've seen though the TD2 has been faster than the HD in many benchmarks so if you don't mind the slightly smaller screen then the TD2 might be a better option in the long run, especially with official WM6.5 updates.
true. so if i text using hd it does not vibrate when i press the keys when i text? problem is it is still not available in our country. and i am really eager in getting a new device this weekend! plus the 3.5mm jack cant be ignored. the thing i hate the most with td2 is its back cover which gets scratched easily.
The HD vibrates when you type on the keyboard. Or not. It's up to you since it's a setting of the HTC keyboard.

You can install a free app called TouchResponse which I've attached for your convienience which makes every touch you make vibrate on the HD. Once installed go into its settings and activate it for vibrate response

Go to Settings, Personal, Input and click the Options button (not the options tab).
You've got an option there to 'Vibrate when keys are pressed'.
I'd like to get haptic feedback everytime I touch the screen, i'm sure i read about an app that does this but have searched and cant find it now!
Anyone know what it was or a way to enable this function?
Thanks!

Hey guys,
I was wondering if its possible to disable the first animation from the flip clock? i dont like it and it always confuzes me how late (early) it is.
So if anyone knows how to disable it.. it was really easy on my hd2, just install a .cab file.
Thanks
+1 for me on this one.
It really is annoying and especially on analog clocks the animation looks rather weird.
Regards,
And another request from me...
This was pretty much the first thing I did on my HD2 (disable flip) and it's driving me nuts already!
bump bump , same here
Bump!
Agreed about the analog comment...it's bloody weird!
No one knows how? i will call htc tomorrow and ask them.

You can try but they probably don't have a solution.., It's just build in.
Not that this disables it by normal operation, but I find using "No Lock" from the Market skips the animation when you press the power button, but it also removes the need to "slide down" to unlock after pressing the power button (this is good in my book, and the real reason I use it).
This also annoyed me to no end when I first got the phone especially on the analogue clocks. It looks really stupid to see the hands rotate round the clock to the correct time every time you flick back to it! I searched for hours trying to find a solution but I gave up. Which is a real shame because I really like the HTC clocks but can't use them

Yeah that was their answer too. So there's not going to be a way to do this official.
Another one from me, very annoying!!
how do i disable haptic feedback? i couldnt find it under sounds menu.
I was looking for this too. You can turn it off for the keyboard under the keyboard settings.
Can't figure out how to turn it off for the "system" (soft keys).
BLOWSSS.
Nexus S is looking better and better.
yeah I can't find it either. My captivates screen is eons beyond this qHD ****. Unfortunately I would rather have the higher resolution.
nobody knows how to? This haptic feedback is irritating me...
+1 Driving me nuts. I tweeted @motorola and even asked on their forums.
absolute mess up with this haptic feedback. Neither Motorola nor AT&T has any clue of how to disable this sh$t. I hate that buzzing on my phone.
Agreed. I can't stand it. I have looked for a while but only able to find the place to disable it for the keyboard.
Huge oversight by Moto if they didn't put in a way to disable it. Its something I will probably get use to but right now.. It is annoying.
Had the same issue. Under Settings/Location and Security Settings deselect Use Tactile Feedback. Disables most of the haptic feedback on the screen though the standard Android buttons still vibrate.
I think if you download SpareParts in the market, it will allow. I will check back later and see. Normally it's in the menu's though. It's annoying as hell!

Unfortunately, this doesn't work either.
This and the fact that the battery nor the front facing camera are as good as the iPhone 4, are causing me to waffle as to if I'm going to return the atrix or not.
Bump
Has anyone figured out if we can disable the haptic feedback on the soft keys? It's super annoying IMHO.
I have asked to question in the past, and the answer i got in short was that there are no options for the 4 action buttons on the bottom to disable haptic feedback. Design flaw... and aside from that, the only way to disable it is if you downloaded a certain app, which i can not recall which one it is anymore but when i do i will post it back up here, which will disable all vibrations (including if your phone is on silent)...
Great right?
Its the dell streak app I believe that will disable all vibration. I cant live without vibrations when phone is on silent so I guess ill have to deal.
