I recently installed SPB Mobile Shell v3.5.Build.9593 (which I'm quite satisfied with), but in the process I lost the preinstalled HTC Footprints app. I have used the HD2's search function, but it can't find it.
Can someone help me with this?
Thanks a lot!
I am having the exact same problem. Even trying to create new footprints from Album application failed (as in, nothing happen after clicking "Done").
I want to stick with spb mobile shell, but I love footprints too. What should I do??

Hi
I installed the trial of Mobile Shell onto my diamond, really just to see what it was like.
However it doesnt seem to have installed properly, and now neither mobile shell or TouchFLO are working. The phone still works in that I can use all the applications, settings etc, theres just a blank screen where TouchFLO should be.
I've tried to uninstall mobile shell using the Remove Programs feature on the phone and also through Sync Centre but it doesn't appear as an installed program.
If anyone could help me fix this i'd be really grateful
I don't know SPB Mobile Shell at all, but u should disable
TouhFlow from Today screen if u want to use SPB....
check the option in "today" if touch flo is flagged. or backup and hard reset
Try SKtools. It has the best tool for removing programs.

you can use both TouchFLO and SPB Mobile Shell.I have done it and I wrote a way to do that in the SPB Mobile Shell 3 Thread.
the same thing happend even to me. just disable touch flo and than try to install again spb mobile shell.after that reset your mobile phone and u will have again spb. than u can find spb in your unistall list so that u can uninstall. do a soft reset again and than u can activate yout touch flo.
myself i did this and it worked perfectly.
Ah yes that worked thanks guys
Hi all,
Currently, SPB Mobile Shell 3 is developping well, a thread is about all tricks is available HERE
But, as you can see, there is still some lack of usefull things... like Album viewer, Music player incorporated... I remarked there were an easy way to go back to the TODAY place...
That's why i am asking you this question:
What program is for the best to run with SPB Mobile Shell 3?
#1 Win 6.5 Titanium, which ROM and why?
#2 Win 6.5 Titanium, using WM 7 project
#3 Win 6.1, new start menu, which rom and why ?
#4 Win 6.1, old start menu, which rom and why?
#5 ROM isn't important, just configure well the today, explain it to us!
#6 SPB Mobile Shell is perfect for me.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but you can't really use the titanium plugin with Mobile Shell 3 since they both take over the today screen so I'm not sure I follow the poll..
Personally I use Mobile Shell with WM6.5 and have mobile shell overwrite start menu.
I still think Manilla2d is better but am still testing out mobile shell for the time being.
I tested SPB MS 3 on my Diamond with:
new Startmenu(Topaz)
TF3D
TodayAgenda on today
TFDetacher
I found it quite good to have all these three things running, but due to the LARGE memory footprint i banned SPB MS.
If there was an option to disable several pages to free up some ram (e.g. favourites carousel is quite redundant and just to show off, not to use), I might get back.
Also the lack of the former lock screen (Password lock overlay) was quite frustrating.
I have been playing around with different user interfaces and ROMS since getting my TP2 and while I love the cool-factor of TF3D, I found SPB mobile shell to be much more user friendly. Things are one click away instead of sliding around my finger a couple times to get the right tab etc. But I digress. I really like the footprints tab. I have installed a 6.5.3 rom with TF3D2.5 but am have it disabled in lieu of using SPB mobile Shell 6.5.1. Is there any way to access my footprints album and take new shots? Or is there an equivalent GPS tagging photo app out there?
thanks!

You can run SPB MS from the WM start menu, there should be an icon for that. However you are wasting a lot of memory by doing this. Both Sense and MS are UI (User Interface), and they are designed to be operated by themselves. I don't see what you are accomplishing by doing this. It is simpler to just disable sense in the settings today menu if you want to run MS, and then re-enable it to run Sense.
You will need to remove the MS lnk file from \Windows\Startup if you want to run SPB Mobile shell manually. By default it loads every time you reboot.
I tried to disable the sense but then when i re-enable it the phone freezes ??

Was that mskip's shellswitcher, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=667371&highlight=mskip ? It runs various UIs, disabling what isn't needed.
I just use TF3D to Mobile shell switcher... I remap it to my PTT button and when I want to use the different interface i just push the button and the program checks which one is running and then switches to the next one...
Although I like a little bit of Sense 2.5 I think i run 99% of the time Mobile shell.... its lighter in memory usage, lighter on battery drain, and also i have all the apps at fingertips with ease....
You can try my ShellSwitcher, published on xda forum (see my signature for link)
ShellSwitcher is the application that i found and it works good. basically it disables one and enables the other.
i attached the file to save the time for searching for it. enjoy
Can anyone tell me whether to install Cookies home tab or SPB mobile shell to my hd mini...And will it slow down the device if i install any of these?
And please add the link where i can get the software...
thanks!!!
SPB Mobile Shell
I have SPB Mobile Shell and it´s more quickly then CHT.
SPB mobile Shell 3.5.5 runs very well ^ ^
CHT could be tuned to run faster and it is free.
Just set 'Simple animations' and everything go smooth
Are there any themes for SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.5 compatible with the mini?
and version 5.0 you know or have?
I like Spb Shell 3.5.5 and its potentials.
But why is it so slow? Especially when going back to homescreen.
When you press home button, it takes at least a solid 3 seconds before homescreen shows up. Sometimes a bit longer.
This "dillemma" can be solved easily
As CHT is freeware, try this one first. If you like it, nice! If you don't just take your wallet and get you SPB Mobile Shell But I think, CHT is very nice
CHT is slower than SPB mobille shell 3.5.5
but I thought CHT didn't work with HD Mini, due to screen sizes being different and the developers have said they are not going to produce one for the mini screen?

There is a HVGA port Search the forums a little bit and you'll find
My MINI crashes often with SPB
Tried both CHT and SPB. My feeling is SPB works a bit smoother: specifically at start up: I don't get the screen with CHT that I defined. First I needed to swap to another page and back before it was as I defined it to be.
But in SPB, I had quite some freezes which needed a soft reset. And after removing, I had to do a hard reset to get rid of it completely. Now I work with os of the standard rom and downloaded a view small enhancement packages like the HD_mini_ProgramsTab etc.
it's not a port, version 3.5.5 supports hvga resolution
i've been using spb for now, coockie didn't seem to do it for me, i got used to the spb shell.
you can always try the spb as a 15-day demo on marketplace (can give you the cab if you like), which is pretty nice
if you don't like it, try cht, it's free and highly customizable
as far as themes go, i haven't had any luck finding one for hvga res i liked yet, most devs keep the hvga for last

What does this "HD_mini_ProgramsTab" do?
Is there a way to solve this SPB freeze?
