how do i enable bookmark website icons, as u can see im stuck with the stock bookmark icons and after seeing the CHT screenshots, one of them was a bookmark link with a picture of the xda website as the icon. i would like to do this for all my bookmarks anyone know how to do it? ive been looking for a good hour all over xda for an answer im running the April 13 energy 21898 CHT
Try going into pIE and opening each of the bookmarked pages from your bookmarks within Internet Explorer. Then your bookmarks on your hometab should show up as pics of the webpages. Make sure you let the pages load fully, and if one or two of them dont show up the first time, its probly cause of ads or something flashing, so go into Internet Explorer's settings and turn off "show pictures" and then try again.
thx so much. this was the answer to my problem.
THANK YOU,
i've been wondering that to, and your trick works!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
I was wondering is it possible to re organise the application on the x10 so i can put my favourates nearer the top and on the first page?
thanks for your help
You could put your favourites onto one of your home screens. That's what most people seem to do.
go to one of the home screens, slide up the apps panel then hold your finger on the app you want until it vibrates the app panel will close and you can drop the app onto the screen.
Simples!
Sent from my X10i using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
thanks for the reply.
yeh i did have that set up before but im using timescape as my homescreen now so was hoping id be able to just reorder the entire list of applications so the ones i want are close to hand.
done
its ok i figured it out...if u hold it down for ages it wil let u move each app...
How do I reorder the menu?
I want to move some apps to the top of the application list (NOT the home screen).
I'm pretty sure that you can't.. although No1 Fred might say different?

Wow, thought it would of been one of the first things they would of had aside from changing from list to grid.
I guess that's what the home screens are for though.. although if you use timescape as the home screen then you're a bit knackered!!.. (Does anyone find it useful to use Timescape as the home screen?? I know a few have tried it then reverted back to "normal" home screen..)..
Plus if you install a different app launcher (open home or Helix) then you can have more home screens.. and organise your apps into groups.. (I've got 5 screens with Games on one screen, internet stuff on another.. clock and calendar on the centre, then "System tools", then useful gadgets on the fifth..)
Hey guys I wanted to make this post in the forum for his rom but I'm so new it won't let me so I thought I'd do it here. I have just today rooted my HTC Hero GSM phone and installed the new v3.1 rom from elelinux. Everything works fine but I'm just missing 2 widgets.
When I was running v2.1-update1 i had it so that one of the home screens had a full screen bookmark widget and another one had a full screen (well I mean so big you couldn't actually place another shortcut or anything on that screen) widget for my text messages. I know that the rom has both txt message app and a bookmarks section in the browser but before I could put both of these on the home screens and when I go to widgets from the home screen those two are missing from the list.
Can anyone help me out how to find it if I am missing it, or can you point me in the right direction?
I think those are sense widgets you refer to. Won't get these on aosp but there are similar alternatives on the market
I have the same issue... and I don't think it's related to Sense apps. I have tried to download, for example, "Laik Agenda widget", that works perfectly in other non-sense android phones, does not appear in the list.
I have also tried with 4 or 5 different calendar widgets, and no luck.

I had a same problem. Are you using elelinux ROM like OP?If you do, then go to settings>applications>manage apps>choose widget that you want and tap on it> then tap move to phone and thats it.That was the problem when I couldnt see some widgets, downloaded from market, in the list.
I'll start:
When you drop a bookmark for a website onto the desktop it has a bookmark icon with the site's icon smaller in the bookmark icon.
Previously, every time you tapped the bookmark icon on the desktop it'd open a new tab with that link. Now, it only opens a new tab if that link isn't already open in a tab.
I find that makes the Facebook website and other websites a lot friendlier.

just thought I was crazy for not noticing before. Good catch!
I've got an A500 running the stock 3.2 rom, and I was wondering how you change what web pages show up in the web page preview "widget" in the upper right corner of the screen. I've attached a screenshot to show what I mean.
The "widget" shows previews of the Acer, Google, Picassa, and Yahoo! web pages, but what if I wanted to see eBay, Google, Flickr, and MSN? Is there a file somewhere in the stock rom that has what pages are displayed?
Any help would be appreciated!

Im trying to set it as "Custom Page" but what is the URL for it?
Thanks.

Thats a good idea! Thanks bro!
I did it but with shortcuts as icons and added it to a folder on home screen. Doesnt fill as much as the other widget
