Task Manager Missing! - HD2 General

For some reason my task manager is missing. When I click settings>other, the only options are: car kit mode, microsoft my phone, uploader and usb to pc.
Anyone know what the issue is?

Bump - anyone?

Go to /windows with the file explorer and find taskmgr.exe, tap and hold on it -> copy -> go to /windows/Start Menu/Programs -> tap and hold here -> paste shortcut.
It's now in Start Menu

this option was removed with the last ROM Update. To access the taskmanager tap on your windows logo and scroll down. You will find your taskmanager there ;-)

Getting a program on the start/programs menu

For some reason my Internet Explorer program never appeared on the
start menu or in the programs folder. Every time I want to open it I need
to use file explorer and open it from the folder. Does anyone know how I
get it into the program folder? I've even tried cut and paste but can't.
thanks
Brett
Start > Settings > Menus* > [x] Internet Explorer
?
Internet Explorer doesn't appear as an item to be checked. That's my problem.
ah
Start > Programs > File Explorer
browse for "iexplore.exe"
tap and hold on "iexplore.exe", then choose "Copy" from the popup.
browse to Windows\Start Menu\Programs
choose Menu, then Edit, then Paste Shortcut
rename the shortcut to just "Internet Explorer".
You'll then find IE in Start > Programs > Internet Explorer
And you'll also find it in that list to add it to the Start Menu.
Thanks for the idea but unfortunately it didn't work. I have tried the copy-paste idea on the xda and I get the message "Cannot copy 'iexplore': Executable and resource files in ROM cannot be copied."
If I try to do the copy-paste thing through the PC the "iexplore" file doesn't even show in the place I can clearly see it in the windows folder on the xda!
It's got me stumped.
cheers, Brett
Those phpBB errors are getting quite annoying.
/me re-types
Silly protectionisms in Windows Mobile...
Try the attached file - it contains a shortcut to IE. Just place the shortcut in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ - should do the trick.
PRESTO!!
Thanks ZeBoxx. Worked a treat.

Shortcuts to folders?

Been searching for about an hour now. Is it possible to make shortcuts to folders?
For example- I'm trying to make a shortcut to the Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder, but every time, it can not find the file.
Is there a solution to this?
Thanks in advance.
Use Resco Explorer
I use Resco explorer all the time, that´s why I did never find it difficult..., It´s easy as use the desktop. Select the folder ("Programs", in your case), tap and hold, "Copy", go to the desired place where you want to add a link, tap and hold, and "paste as shortcut". Done!
There is an easier way, select the folder ("programs") an "send to" > "Start menu as shortcut". Done!
Download a trial on website!
The folder you want is located in Your device\windows\start menu\programs
also to see all files on your device you need to enter options in resco explorer, to do this click menu at the bottom right when resco explorer is open then click options then click general, now click browser then make sure all boxes have no ticks next to them. then click ok and you will now be able to see all files on your phone.

The Start Menu folder is in the Windows folder.
and also check the option to show hidden files
You said you removed these when you had the phone connected to your PC. I don't get that. Did you not go to "Remove programs" in the settings menu?

You'd be better off reinstalling them, then removing them through
Settings -> Application -> Remove Programs
All you've done is remove the files, so the HD2 still thinks they are installed.

In that case, try removing them through
Settings -> Application -> Remove Programs
anyway.
It'll probably bring up errors, but it might work.
they are not even there lol...

In that case, its a series of registry entries you'll need to remove.
You'll need a registry editor installed on your HD2.
I use TotalCommander (there are loads out there, like Resco etc)
TotalCommander registry tool instruction + download link
Then open TotalCommander go to:
\\Plugins -> registry -> HKLM -> Security -> Shell -> StartInfo -> Start
I'm guessing the icons are in the Games folder, so go in there.
You'll have a file named Ferrari (or something similar) -> delete these.
Once you have done that, press the ' \ ' button in the top-right of the TotalCommander window.
Now go into:
\\Plugins -> registry -> HKLM -> Software
You should find a folder in there which is named after the program or the software house who made the game. *Double check* this is the folder which is to do with the game, and delete it.
i found it and its all gone!! thank you for your help.
