For the customizations addicts, I just made a new Home that allow you to theme your desire very easily!

You will loose all your HTC widgets, but if some graphist want to work with me on this, just contact me.
I am now developing this home on my new Desire Silver
Give me feedback if you have time.
FreedHome allow you also to hide the notification bar if you want ( press menu to see it) and this kind of fullscreen mode is quite cool!
It also allow you to uninstall applications by dragging icons more than one second. I get this idea from launcher+ and home++ ( thank to them)
Any feedback appreciated.
I just made the option to choose the size of the icon grid.
A 5*5 or a 4*5 is really nice on the Desire!

I think the main difference between the 2 apps and what I am focusing on is to allow the user to create easily his own theme by editing some ressources on the SDCard. I wanted to make this feature really easy to do for everybody.
Maybe I am wrong, but I haven't seen such a stuff on other home replacement for now.
That's a feature that I would like to develop on my application.
You can now add your own shortcuts with personnal icons!
Theming has never been so easy!
I still need a little bit work on the UI and correcting bugs, but all seem OK for general use.
Let me work on it a few weeks and all will be perfect.

Is there any way of getting a 5x5 grid onto the original sense UI? I really want the extra line for app icons but don't want to loose the look of the sense set up. Also can you add extra screens to the sense UI? It would be great to have 9 screens like other mods but keep the sense look and the helicopter feature.

yeah i miss those features too, but still, great app!
There are elements of Sense, HelixLauncher, and FreedHome that I wish all of them would take from each other and put into one home replacement.
Sense: The pinch Expose-like feature to see all workspaces is fantastic.
Helix: The ability to add small shortcuts on either side of the program launch icon at the bottom (but I wish you could add widgets, too!)
Freed: The ability to customize number of icons per row and column is excellent. Wish you could define that per screen, perhaps, but it's good.
So if somebody made a launcher that allowed shortcuts at the bottom, had pinch-to-Expose, and could define different grids per screen, I'd be in love. As is, well done with FreedHome, profete. A very nice app so far.

If feel really sorry for the latest updates. there were too much in a few times, but the orientation with the custom grid was a big jigsaw for me!
But the result is very exciting: here is my Desire in landscape with 5 icons grid and no icons name!

I lost a lot of neurons, but after a huge amout of coding, I realized that a few optimized linecodes were perfect.
I just rewrited most of the code during the night ( it's 6.03 am here) and all seem now very stable and smooth on my Desire.
Really sorry for the inconveniance of having so much updates ( that's why there is a beta and a paying version, the paying is stable and not experimental)
Hope to have a feedback on the landscape/portrait mode. If you don't like it, i will think about a checkbox in the option, but in my mind, everybody like that.
I will now focus on my website with all the themes and tutorials ( only in french for now) but if someone love my project and want to contribute it by helping me to work on the website, we can talk about that.

I will be honest with you:
* I don't plan to do something like the Sense Expose-like. That would be too complicated for me. Maybe something like home++ but seem to be too much time.. Maybe when FreedHome will be perfect and whith no bug, I will work on this.
* The shortcut on the launcher is my first objective after finishing the website. I promise to work on that and bring you this feature soon.
* the different grid per screen seem complicated and not user friendly, but as some widgets are not working on a bigger grid, i must do something like that! I agree with you!
So I promise to work on the all your points in this priority: shortcuts: asap - different grid seem complicated but i will have a look in the next weeks - sense expose will be done at the end of the programation, maybe in a few month, don't expect it soon...

Certainly not the system fonts ( with my current knoledge of Android)
But I have great hopes to provide custom fonts for the Homescreen. ( in a first time I will include them in the apk, and I will learn if it's possible to take them from SDCard)

Menu -> FreedHome, you have 2 choices:
1) download themes that will add the themes automatically to your SDCard
2) more themes will download a zip file that you have to unzip manually to the correct folder.
Just to let you know: the latest update on the Market has a fully customizable doc with 2 icons.
You may also choose to use no icons to create a laucher bar that integrate shortcuts ( like Sense)
I will be on holidays for the next 15 days, but when i'll come back, i promise you something really cool.

I made this theme a while back and decided to share it with this community in thanks for all the apps, programs, etc that are donated to us. I originally this theme with WAD, but I wasnt getting the results that I wanted, nor the speed. Then I came across this lightweight and speedy program called ultimatelaunch. It is by far my favorite GUI so far, very lightweight, simple, fast and customizable. It has some minimal flaws, but Ive tried my best to get it as efficient as possible for ease of use with one hand. You have all probably seen the AURORA and CUBE themes, which are pretty awesome as well, but this is a lot different. Each button along the bottom rom is a tab that responds to a page and title. Each page is customizable with included icons for various apps and progs. However, if you want it to look like the picture, then follow instructions to the T and you should run into no problems. The overall look of this theme is similar to an iPhone, but shows the power and benefit of WinMo and adds some style that cant be compared... Enjoy!

INSTALL:
1. Download THIS zip file (thanks to Moe5508) and install the file in order (0-9)
2. Go to start-settings-today-items and uncheck each item except for ultimatelaunch
3. Take it for a test drive
!!! All the animations, icons, and backgrounds are customizable. There are extra wallpapers and icons included, soo get creative and original
!!! All the shortcuts will be different on your device, to change them, hold your finger on a tab at the bottom of the today screen to pull up the menu. Click "Settings" - Pick the desired tab and click "Change" - Highlight "Apps" - then click "Change" - Pick the icon you want to change its shortcut. Its all rather self explanitory, but im trying to make this "NEWB" proof so I dont have to babysit this thread too much if you have any questions pm me.
!!! The batterystatus icons should work just fine. **From left to right** The first icon is the missed call count, clicking it opens the "Missed Calls" The second is voicemail, click it to call your "Voicemail" (To edit your vmail number, Activesync your phone or use total commander to open the "mytheme.xml" with a notepad located in the "/windows/batterystatus" folder. Scroll about 3/4 the page down and change the part that says "123456" to your own phone number) The third is text messages, click it and guess what happens lol. The last is your email, if you click it, it will pull up the account picker if you have multiple accounts like me (btw, the icons glow when something comes in)
!!! If anyone knows how to fix the clock from saying 0:00 at midnight, please let me know. thats the only thing i cant figure out, ive friggin looked EVERYWHERE!

The icons were sampled and resized from AKUMA and TORX, big thanks to their genius creativity. The background is from pocketpcscreens.com and modified by yours truly. The batterystatus theme was made by dBoris and the xml was edited by me to fit my needs. Thank you for the new dialer CBUS! The easy install files packaged into cabs and zipped up thanks to MOE5508. I dont know the real names of all these ppl, but their apps, work, and talents have helped me compilate this theme and take my phone to a new level. Just know that all your works are much appreciated by many of us here at XDAdev. Hopefully this theme will get your products and talents recognized a bit more...

the icons are sized at 50 pixels... make sure to set that individual icon to 50+ for both parameters.

I went into the UltimateLaunch.ini file and changed teh font to arial
restarted, now it works.
can we get a zip of your start menu links too? I see you have alot of nifty shortcuts instead of me having to find each program myself. like the text.lnk mms.lnk etc.
Is there a way to add a picture dial side to UL? Awesome theme !

sorry everyone... i kinda passed out for a bit. ummmm, as far as i know, there shouldnt be any problems copying over the ul folder, if i recall the font on my theme is stock. (however, if youve changed your system font, you might have to change the .ini file in "program files/ultimatelaunch")
soo whoever thinks its unprofessional might not like ul (i mean, the font is outlined with black to make the white easier to read, but thats the only portion thats changable as far as i know. if you are referring to the picture... it doesnt have the font like it does at the bottom of the picture. the icons, are the bottom.
as far as shortcuts, i might be able to post up all my shortcuts, because i use some really cool programs i found (like the "favs" and "games" section, all in grid view, no lists! ) this part might have to be tonight though, i plan on releasing a movie as well in case there are some other things ive done to my phone that you all might like.
as far as a picture dialer side. i use the favs button to pull up "VS Contacts"
the button used to launch the contact side of the cube, which was neat, but I think VS Caller is better in some areas... but for you, ill post a fav five plugin that i have... its the best i can do.

another issue I found is going form landscape to portrait. it icons don't get drawn back correctly.
once you rotate your screen and the scroll bar appears, the totally screws up the alignment when putting it back to portrait.
this is not because of your skin, but primarily an issue with UL.

Theme was updated using SPB MS 2.1.2 but also works with 2.1. Status icons are still slightly misaligned on lancher, mru and contacts page.
Theme includes analog and digital mode using spb ms options to select which you want to use. now screen includes 5 mru buttons. Theme includes 3 contact pages which can be accessed using the tabs on the bottom when u get to the contacts page. contacts page tab labels can be personalized to Personal, Business, Friends or whatever you want editing the xmls or using the SPBMobileShell.txt file. Now, Launcher and all contact pages include status icons. (as i stated before, i like to have quick access to status icons)

2. Not as much memory usage as before.
3. Added a theme that includes only 1 contacts page with 16 contacts.

Update for calendar on now screen: Download the file below if you want ur setup to include the calendar on the now screen. When i made this theme, i made a change to the now screen to show upcoming all day events. but when doing that it wont show the calendar at all or appts if you have no appts within 7 days. if you want ur setup to show the calendar, download the file below and copy the qa_layouts.dat file from the layout u want to use.

I would never close my now screen before either until i started using rumball's animated weatherpanel skin. (which is awesome by the way.)
I was actually thinking of doing different layouts, like mru tab instead of close tab or eliminate the fourth tab entirely and just leave 3 tabs. all depending on comments.

well actually, my idea was to do a different layout because as much as i like the diamond look too, i like to change looks every now and then. maybe after mods and colors i plan to do, i can try something out to implement diamond into it.

glad u found a fix for it.
Absolutely awesome theme. I have been trying to find a replacement for the Diamond (good theme, but time for a change) and this one sent all the right signals. I wanted to change some aspects though, I will be loosing the close button and adding an mru tab instead. The extra mail icons on the contas and program tabs will go as well.

new sms, email and missed calls are shown when recieved at the top, were the date and time is, once clicked these open the message or the missed call. And as for settings, the system dock taks you to the main features of the settings and the network on the start panel taks you to the comms manager. to me thats the main ones i use. Yeah that is the start menu, not really sure it fits in with the theme but i made one as propose to the quick launch menu which at the moment doesnt contain anything.

This is Wisbar advance desktop 2 (WAD2) it allows you to skin the home page, Wisbar advance 3 (WA3) will allow you to skin the taskbar, icons and prgrams so combine them both together and you have yourself a new skin!
These programs allow you to skin the old boring windows mobile look, and allows you to add shortcuts to the homepage, sliders, meters and transitions.
Its a very good App, but unfortunatly it aint free to buy!

Yeah you can change the wallpaper,
i changed it to a black and white one
so it does look alot better.
i changed a few things, scrapped the
start menu, gone with a more traditional
slide style which looks great! added a
clock to home page, changed the meters and
edited the shutdown panel.
i shud release it tonight, otherwise il just
end up changing things all the time lol

No, this theme doesnt use TF3D. Its a different application.

your welcome, and im afraid this is a different application to touchflo. although you could use it as aa second today screen and link this with touchflo but not sure wt performance and battery usage would be.
i feel this is alot better than touchflo as its completly skinable and you can basically do wt u want.
Its a very nice theme! Great job!
But i have problem, when i press the arrow for the programbar it dosent work, it just popup an transparant emtyp "box". And i dont know what the bottom arrow should do. i also get some errors when i click on the messege thing

Hi folks! I've been looking for a good launcher recently. What I need is something like SPB PocketPlus, I like the Tab-Functionality. What I care about MOST is that it works. NO CRAPPY GRAPHICS, be it in Landscape or Portrait mode.
What I tried:
UltimateLaunch 1.2: Bad. Graphics are screwed up easily, captions are cut etc.
SPB PocketPlus: Fantastic graphics, but very little customization
SBSH iLauncher: Great customization features but not perfectly fluid and the supplied icons are very limited. Battery meter sucks in landscape mode (Fade from red to green restarts towards the ending, I suppose after 640px, because they were to dumb to make it work with screens bigger than VGA.
So what I want to know from you is which one you're using and if there are more alternatives. What I need once again:
-Excellent graphics (No bugs!)
-Absolutely smooth (!)
-The more customization, the better
-Many special functions that can be assigned
What exactly do you want to launch, then?
For apps I have Elecont Launcher on one row. You can change the icon size and scroll left-right with the finger. You can set it to launch apps only on double-tap. I think it also has batery, free card space etc, but I don't use that.
For contacts I have Elecont Dialer using one row, works in the same way. Double tap to call, tap and hold to sms, scroll with finger.
Just google them and see if they work for you.

What customization are you looking for from SPB Pocket Plus? Personally I love it, and I find it very customizable, especially after investing in the real SPB Mobile Shell, not just the panel.

Especially the color is not according to my wishes, I would like to change it to, say, #0080FF when selected. I guess I might do this with a skin, but hell no, I don't feel like creating a whole skin!
To the others: QuickMenu fails on my device with quite annoying errors. I guess I'll have a look at Elecont Launch, but it sounds familiar to me, I think I've already had it. As for what I want to launch: Programs in the first place. Screen rotation. Settings (CPLs). New Notes. And Send SMS directly would also be nice.
No thanks to Elecont Launcher. Graphics are sooo poor.
Well, it only shows the icons of the programs in the highest resolution possible - be sure to have the last version. What other graphics do you need?!?

But the screenshots look pretty bad. White Pixels around the icons...
I need especially Icons for Tabheaders. I intend to set up following tabs:
Home
Multimedia
Network/Wireless
Programs
Settings
Then of course it needs to have battery and memory meter and inidcators for unread msgs and missed calls would also be very nice (But not a must-have).
No pixels around icons here, but also no tabs. Maybe you need something more advanced, keep looking.

So what happens if you get to many icons? Scrollbar?
Just try it from their site and uninstall if it's not good for you.

If you have more icons it either creates a new row, or the icons stay on one row (if you set it that way) and you can scroll with your finger.

Tried it. I was shocked and uninstalled it again. The selection of items to show is excellent, but that's it. Almost no customization, animation slows down very much, no captions, icons are made of <64 colors. I really don't like it after all. Any other suggestions? Anyone?
Or do you know how to create a direct link to "New Note" and "New SMS"? Or how to change color of the battery meter in the taskbar in PocketPlus?
This Elecont launcher is what I was looking for since I've got Xperia .. thanx man ! Simple, no stupid animation, fast, can launch both apps and settings. I need nothing more.

I really don't get it. I'm to lazy to make a screencap of my Today, but all the icons are taken from the apps they link to in hi-res and with all the colors. They look exactly like in Programs. It's not slow either. If you have Java apps then you'll miss the captions, otherwise I don't see the problem.
ckfamily, I have PhonEx too. But did you notice when you tap it once it always stays in front on PocketPlus, it hides part of my tab... The same for you? What's your config of PocketPlus? Are those tabs on your screenshot? Where have the seperators gone?

Hehe, they are not tabs. I personally hate the separators.
I was able to remove the original separators from today S.
but not for the SPBPocket +
Im using a single tab.
btw..
iLauncher has a option to hide the separators between tabs.

To remove today separator
the cab is not made by me, i found it here.
If you remove all other tabs, there should be no header .

BTW: Quickly unpacked the thing and found the relevant setting:
Set HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\HidePluginSeparators (DWORD) to 1 to remove lines (Probably Softreset required).

NB: [22-Jan-2010] If you would like to request a cab file for your chosen wallpaper, you will find most will be happy to have a go for you. However, when doing so, can you please give specifics of the ROM you are using, i.e WM6.1/6.5/6.5.3, Sense/Manila/TF3D 2/2.1/2.5 and whether of not your version of Sense/Manila/TF3D is CFC compressed (if using a Custom ROM, the Rom Cooker's thread should tell you all of this information). This will greatly help the person who decides to do it for you, otherwise it's a complete shot in the dark, and if you are using anything other than the stock rom, it will most probably not work as they will normally use the default profile (TouchFLO v2.1 - No Compression - All Tabs). Actually, if you know all this info, there's no reason why you can't successfully have a go yourself, as I would always urge you to do. There's nothing like being able to do it yourself!
Here's an idea...changing the wallpaper on our TP2s seems a bit more difficult than in the past. The usual "background 4 all pages" methods that are about seem to cause problems for some (actually most, I think). I personally get a massive lag in screen rotation and other graphical gitches that I can't live with.
The answer is HDWall (massive thanks to maranell0 for this great piece of software)
OK, so it's time consuming and it involves a CAB installation and soft reset (actually, if you skip the restart after CAB installation, just restarting TF3D from Settings>>Personal>>Today>>Items does the trick), but what you end up with is a flawless wallpaper, higher in resolution than the standard methods, same background on all tabs, and absolutely no glitches or lags in rotation that I have noticed.
So the idea is, post your CABs and screenshots and share with the community your creations, save people the time and effort and make changing your wallpaper to suit your mood easy again!

One more thing. I don't personally get this problem, but if the picture doesn't load on the home tab, but all the other tabs are ok, you will need to clear the following 3 values in the registry (after the first install):

Try turning on/off (or reset) your device.
I think the stock rom is still having bugs since I also have this issue from time to time.
Also you could try disabling touchflo in the homescreen and then enabling it again
Just a suggestion guys and gals. All these walls are great. Theres an option to add a layer of color over the image and with that theres opacity options. I find that adding a black layer with some transparency enables much better previews of sms messages, as lighter colors can be confusing.

Well, I like my background just the way it is.
I think it's a personal preference
For example I never read text messages in the "preview" mode anyway...I always click it

The task bar icon set is the standard stock set. The TF3D icon set is "Neon Theme v1.2a - Transparent both" thanks to nicelad_uk
The clock, (which is actually in the same manilla file as the icons for the call history and calendar on the home screen, hence why they are different, but not personally my choice) is by MobileMatt...can't remember where I found out so it's attached here: View attachment 200500 - Thanks again to MobileMatt

No, as the target resolution for the program to achieve from your pictures is WVGA. You need to use a standard BG 4 all tabs/pages app on your device with VGA images.
