help RESTORING HTC Sense 2.5 features on HD2 T-Mobile - HD2 General

I used the really efficient Zenyee Disable HTC Sense 2.5 SMS interface cab file provided on this site. The reason was to restore windows traditional text-to-voice feature where text messages are read audibly into the bluetooth headset (H710). I decided to go back to HTC Sense 2.5 and keep the phone as it came. I un-installed the cab file, but the windows old-school interface is still in effect :-(
I'm not a pro at Windows Mobile (used to blackberry and Android), but I do know how to access all files on the device memory and the storage card memory via the phone and/or the pc through Windows Mobile Device manager.
I've deleted every possible trace of the Zenyee cab, but I want HTC Sense UI back! :-(
help?

Windows Mobile 6.5 ringtone suite?

Hello to all,
I was wondering if there is any way for me to obtain the ringtones included in Wm 6.5 - I've heard that they are pretty cool sounding. I don't want to flash my Ozone to wm6.5 as there is no signed stock rom for that phone yet. could someone either please post a zipped archive of the audio suite included in wm6.5 (for instance, wm6 had the crossbow audio suite included on many phones), or tell me how I can hack an existing wm6.5 image to obtain these files?
any help is appreciated.
thanks and with respect-
Tomi
There are a set of 10 (I think) new ringers. However, they are all the exact same song, just played different ways. There are also some new alarms and stuff. IMO the HTC ringers are WAY better. If you really want them though, I can try to upload them.

program/application icons in windows mobile 6.5

hi guys (and girlz)
i have a question about some program/application icons on my htc snap with windows mobile 6.5, it comes with some pre-installed stuff and i want to delete the icons (not uninstall, just delete) and re-arrange them (so they won't apprear in my menu screen).
i came accross the problem, that when i use the explorer (in wm 6.5), the option, copy/paste/delete is not available, when i connect the device to my laptop using the windows explorer, i thought i would be able to go in to the windows folder of the device (like in wm5.0 and wm6.1).
however, that, it seems, is not the case, coz the folder does not appear in the windows explorer, does any one of you got some ideas i can try or do?
oh, and before i forget, does anyone of you also got a wm6.1 rom for the htc snap laying arround (non wiki links, since that is not working at the moment).
chill, hope to hear from you, thanx in advance.
kind regards,
alex (htc snap s521)

Galaxy S + Android - The missing features

Hello everyone,
I just moved from a Samsung Omnia II (WinMo 6.5) to the Galaxy S (Android).
Well, I'm really in love with this device. Android reminds me the good old Palm days but on steroids . I believe it took me too long to move away from Windows Mobile.
But, as any OS newbie I'm missing some features. Instead of writing them down I thought it would be better to post them here. This way I might get some help but I'll also update my solutions so other freshmen will have a reference.
Here it goes:
1) Usb webcam - (something like WebCamera Plus from WM)*
* it seems hard to find usb apps for Android. Everything is either web or wifi based.
[PARTIALLY SOLVED] - Using Placaware USB Webcam . Video is working on several PC apps (e.g. Skype) but no audio. And the development is "frozen".
2) Driver Free Bluetooth presenter - I've found many on the market but they all rely on driver installation. I can't understand since windows has a BT protocol for that by default.
3) Pdf Printer - (something like FluidPDF VPrint for WM)
4) Good/Fast Encrypt Tool - like FreeOTFE4PDA on WM or TrueCrypt in Windows
[SOLVED] - Or at least partially solved using GP Pro (thanks to Android Market)
5) HP12C Emulator - can only find HP48.
6) Fax send/receive solution - like KSE Software Truefax Phone Edition in WM (believe me, some people still send/receive faxes
7) Metro Maps - like MetrO for WM
[SOLVED] - Using aMetro (thanks to spyrale at post #7)
8) USB auto file sync solution - like MobSync in WM
9) IE Favorites syncing - used to sync the WM and PC directories using MobSync
10) USB Device controller - like MyMobiler for WM. Again I can only find wifi solutions.
11) Top Explorer solution - like Resco Explorer in WM. I've been using Astro and Root Explorer but was hoping for a one single app that does the full job.
12) Skype type solution - what going on with these guys? Are they out of their minds thinking that people will buy an specific device just because it has skype on it? I've got the Skype beta for Android but I can't get a dial pad on it????
[SOLVED] - Using Nimbuzz (thanks to Kalikot at post #2)
13) Full Backup Solution - like Spb Backup in WM -Perhaps Titanium Backup does the job but I haven't figured ou how to use it (still learning)
14) Good Travel Management App - like Spb Traveler - I know I know... search in the Market - I have done it but the search function in the Market is kinda poor don't you agree?
15) Palm Emulator - like StyleTap on WM - Am I asking too much?
Themes and Customization - I've been trying to have a full black solution. I've been using LauncherPro + Folder Organizer and it's 90% done. I'll post some screen caps in the next days.
16) The only missing feature is a black notification area.
[SOLVED] Of course the solutiong was right here at xda (thanks to MacaronyMax.)
Edited 11/Oct
17) Video Editor - can't believe it doesn't come out of the box (maybe on Android 3.0 )
18) Better Search - the search function in Android doesn't lookup on all contact fields. Sometimes I want to search by a company name (like my car's dealer) and it won't find. WM had the same problem and it was slow. With Android the search is fast but only on name fields. That's a feature I miss since the good old Palm days.
[SOLVED] Using Power Search (thanks to Android Market)
Well, I'll keep this post up to date. Or will try my best since I've got a 9 months cutie at home
I dont know about the others but the best Skype solution atm is Nimbuzz which also has its own VOIP service. It has a delay during calls but there arent any other better options other than the complicated SIP routing.
Titanium Backup does its job even if you move from other custom roms or other firmware. Its wonderful and its worth the price for the additional batch backup/restore options
Hi... I moved from a Samsung Omnia i910 withWM 6.1pro.
The BIGGEST thing I miss from wm over android 2.1 eclair (I have not flashed any unofficial 2.2 roms) is something as simple as installing apps to the external sd card.
I know some apps on wm 6.1 were forced to install directly to the phone memory but with MOST apps you had the option to place on the external card to save ROM space.
It suprises me that such a sophisticated device as the SGS and such a powerful OS such is Android did not come out of the box this way.

Blame google and android pre2.1 , Froyo is said to be able to install to SD but frankly I've yet had need. Also what do you expect? Winmo has been out for what, 10 years or more? Android has only really started to take hold in last 3 years.
Post #1 Edited - two missing features solved and two more added.
unless there are others come from the sam Winmo background, else you need to provide the explanation of each WinMo apps
for metro maps have you tried aMetro?
for backup i use myBackupPro, simpler than titanium backup..
Boy I'm really enjoying Android. It's fast and clean like the good old Palm and still has all the capabilities of Windows Mobile.
I've been a handheld user since the very first Palm Professional and so far I've had only three killing devices:
1) Palm Professional - the good old one (still at home as a remote control hehe)
2) Palm Treo - I still miss the fun with that keyboard.
3) Samsung Galaxy "S" - loving it all the way. Android, great screen, swype etc etc....
One more Solved. USB Webcam (check post #1).

Win Mo 6.5 keyboard (SIP)

Hi guys, this is my first post her on xda-developers, so go easy
I am developing for HTC HD2 windows mobile 6.5 phone, all is going well execpt the fact phone seems to have a different SIP (keyboard) than the default windows one. The HTC one takes up more screen in my application so I would like to get the windows one back. I have tried changing themes, etc but I cant get rid of the HTC one.
Any ideas ?
Thanks.
i tried a lot to make it possible to use the keyboard from wm6. there are some fragments in the reg. but it was not possible for me to activate it.
Hmm, this seems strange as I have an application on my HD2 which is used to configure my BT printer and it has exactly the same keyboard as WM6 so it must be possible.
