So I'm trying to delete/readd my gmail account because push won't work consistently. I don't want to wipe the phone. I have, in the past, cleared gmail, google apps and gmail storage but google apps has no data to clear. Clearing gmail & gmail storage doesn't do it. It just clears my e-mails and then resyncs... How do I completely remove?
Go to settings, accounts & sync and enter a new google account. Then tap and hold on the other gmail account to remove it.

Can't be done because the original is the primary... Google won't let you remove it.
Why not create another Gmail account and temporarily sync to it and then switch back?

Don't know for the removing account, for the contact issue: Use google sync on your phone.
To remove your gmail account info, just do a "factory data reset" I believe it is in settings-sd card settings.
As for the gmail update, it should automatically do it, you need background data on and account sync, and obviously a connection to the network, either 3g or wifi

it shows like it did made the update bit when i go to my gmail i don;t see any conatct added
Hi - I had this problem on my wife's HTC Legend - turns out that I'd inadvertantly set up the contacts as phone contacts rather than gmail contacts, so it wasn't syncing them.. I had to export them all and then reimport then as google contacts.. then it worked.
ok where can i set this settings ?
How do you delete the gmail account?

I don't like to use my gmail account by another than then my other mail accounts.
I deletet the settings like in the post above, but when I enter the gmail app, under accounts, the account is still listed.
I want to delete it - how can I?

2. Go into each of the following apps and clear data. Before you exit the app manager you want to make sure each says 0(zero)k storage.

Hi guys,
is there a way to change/remove the primary gmail account on Wildfire?
I'd like to change without factory reset because i have to sync with a calendar of another account.

I've tryed but in Settings -> Accounts I can't remove the account I've used to configure the mobile the first time so I can only sync the calendar of that account.
The only way I found was to factory reset, but the annoying thing is, the one app I purchases it tied to the old gmail account (and cannot be changed).
So I have to have my old gmail account as the primary address on my phone, or I can't have my app.
And so I can't sync my phone with my new 'Google For Domains' accounts calander.
I know there is a ton of threads on this, but I can't seem to find an answer. I am using imilka's Glacier Sense v1.3 and I have all my contacts doubled. How can I fix this?

Check by pressing the windows key when in the people/contacts which accounts you have selected to show, if you have phone and google choose just one. if you only have google, sign into gmail on your pc, select contacts on the left and then you can merge duplicates. on your phone resync google contacts under settings, accounts and sync, google account, and it should do it for you.

I have gmail and facebook both on there. I went into gmail and unchecked the option to sync with contacts. Should I leave this one checked and not facebook? I want to have my friends profile pics auto sync to my contacts. I did try to uncheck gmail but everything is still doubled. Will signing into gmail and doing what you said, have any effect if I want facebook to sync?

depends how you originally imported your contacts and where you saved them.
If on first boot you enabled them through a previous android build keep google contacts sync on.
The facebook side of things will sync your contacts, but not right away, it will try and match existing ones and give you a notification that contacts can be linked and let you check the right facebook profile is being synced with the correct contact.
Check you have nothing under sim card and phone accounts showing also.
Well I deleted everything data/cache with CWM. So I thought that would of cleared everything. I also did a full wipe of my SD card. I then flashed the glacier rom with CWR. I did however find a very easy fix to the contact problem. I was able to click view inside the contacts tab and uncheck any accounts that were set to sync contacts. So now my contacts only show up one entry. Now my problem is when I send a text, the contacts are still doubled. I am not sure how to fix that one..
When I first signed into my google account from my nexus 7, it automatically syncs my contacts/gmail/calendar. But I don't want to have my contacts on the tablet. I've already disabled sync for google contacts. Now how do I delete the contacts from the tablets all at once? In the people app I can only delete one at a time...

Go to Settings> Apps > All and clear data and cache from Contacts and Contacts Storage.
