I have a HTC Magic from 3 telecom (Denmark)
I think i've tried anything.
I have tried:
root in one click
goldcard
ANDROIDSDK
Can't remember wich one that does it, but when i'm in HBOOT and i try installing the sappIMG.zip it says:
Update fail!
Main version is older (or somthing like that)
And CMD (ANDROIDSDK) cant find my device, and i have made a goldcard.
This is how my phone is:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.76.0009 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-6.35.08.29
DEC 8 2009, 17:38:48
I have an official HTC SENSE upgrade installed.
I hope you guys can help me. Cuz i really want 2.1!

unfortunately you are unable to root.. your spl is a perfected spl and no one has been able to figure out how to root it yet..
sorry my friend but you are stuck on the official rom until a solution is found...

1) this is the wrong section
2) is your phone rooted?
3) if not find the thread to root you phone.
4) once rooted look for a hero rom that is for 32a and radio 3.22

Hi to every one the last days i have an htc magic with the entel rom and sim unlocked well after flashing, rooted and give it the recovery part i convert it from 1.5 to 2.1 with the Rogers rom and works great.

Well yesterday i make the error to flash it again but i did something wrong i dont know what but i make this post to recover your magic with out "goldcard" an get it on line again following this steps:

Requirements
1.- Charge the Batery to 100%.
2.- Get 2 Hours of your time (this time is for you make a mistake on the steps).
3.- Get the package of this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756918 this is the package to root our magic but on this have the app called "fastboot" these aplication make life our device.
Well let´s get started.
1.- Power on your device and Conect it to your computer you will see the "ruu" sting will change to "ruuusb"
2.-Go to "CMD" on windows and go the folder where you have the app "fastboot" if you have downloaded the package mentioned in this post enter
"X:\roottools\windows\" where X is the letter of your device.
When you get the address take your time and write this:
"fastboot getvar cid"
This is will get you the original cid of your device.
You wil get the next string
Write the first 8 letters of the string this is the CID our Devices
then you will go to this pagehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659403
Over this page will see a lots of roms only you have to do is search the rom with your CID, download it and make life your semibricked magic.

Yes I have tried with a goldcard as well, the problem is that the current rom version is 3.54 and that of the other ruu's like my official rom is 3.05 and those of others are same or less than 3.05 hence I get main version older error

Tim Brazil didn´t released any ROM for this model, so I need to wait and hope someday I can revive dead RUU Screen.

Hello all, I'm not exactly a noob but much like the guy above I'm in need of some DIRE assistance. Here are my specs:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT 1.33.0013 SAPP31000
CPLD 13
RADIO 6.35.10.18
My problems are many, but basically I'm hoping this thing isn't bricked. The recovery menu is gone, it had CWM but somehow that was deleted. I can get into HBOOT and fastboot, but neither are doing me any good in terms of trying to re-flash the recovery, and I'm almost out of options. I keep looking for SAPPIMG downloads, I have the goldcard and all, but nothing is working. I'm trying to flash one now, a stock 1.5 sappimg, but it keeps getting stuck right as it's trying to flash a new radio. Does anyone have any suggestions, any at all? I can tell you what I've tried if necessary.

I was trying to flash an ICS rom in myTouch 3G 1.2 35.mm, and I mess things and wrong the phone. Through trying to get to stock state I also try the HTC Unlock Bootloader for HTC Magic and after using the file SAPP31000_Sapphire_hboot_1.33.0014G now I have this:

I manage to root my phone by trial and error with a combination of three applications:
Superoneclick
z4root
Universal Androot
I don't remember which one and what version but they help me. I suggest to try all.

I finally got it.. learned alot .. then i had to reroot it cause i restored tmous and during the process flashed the wrong eng spl it powers on but no fast boot or recovery. I guess jtag is the only option.. sad part is its my girlfriends from
Sad to hear that. These devices are in big problems when spl and radio don't matches the originals.
Good lock on jtag, sorry I can't help you in that.
