Anyone has any idea when will the OFFICIAL CRUISE WM6.1 be released??

Hi,
All the "official" versions does not seem to really official ones there are too many bugs that remind of a cooked ROM
does HTC really going to publish ROM WM6.1 for Polaris?? when??

uh yeah HTC confirmed that they are working on a new ROM with WM6.1, and it will be released any time now..

ahah, you think that this ROM it's a fake?! how can you say this?

well, when I flash that rom, unmodded, My startbutton and my screen is messed up, just like in several builds that both I and others has ported. This goes for polaris, herald and kaiser.
If I replace certain files in sys with ones from original wm6.0 rom (polaris), that problem goes away. Same if I make a rom for Kaiser..I take this file from the official build and replace in the ported one, the problem go away.
This issue is well known with newer ports. I really doubt HTC would release a such obvious flaw (But then again..I would not be surprised either)
I might be wrong in beliving its a fake, but I really dont belive its the final product. I dont know what source you get the rom from, and I can "eat my words" if im wrong.
I wanna add that I dont question your honesty UDK, not at all. Cause I have had my share of supply of official builds, that has turned up to be fake.

@itje: Unfortunately, this is the final release and yes, does not works well, it's run very slow and there are some lag.. the ITA version is much slower than the WWE version, but I repeat, these ROM are not fake, there is also a RUS, GER and SPA version with the same core and OEM, are all fake? I think no

Where do you find this ROM ? Have you special access on HTC club ? have you a friend who works for an operator or HTC?

If you think it is a fake rom, why not go to the HTC site and see if an official rom is available... I would do this however I have an O2 Orbit not official HTC cruise!

Both you and me can make multilanguage based on same core and OEM.
Slow and lag..all official roms I have seen has slowness and lagging.. So I didnt base my doubts on that.
Its more the booting issues that makes me wonder. But hey, I am man enough to say I was wrong, so im not gonna sit here and go on fight for something that I cant prove.
Either its this or that, we'll just see when the official hits the support pages at HTC, if it has the same issue, then we know if its the final official build or not that is here with us now

I don't think they are fake, since they are signed and flashable without HardSPL. But if they are the final release or some test/preview we don't know until they are posted on the web.
They have been available for some time already, if they indeed are the final build, why are they still not put on htc.com?
Perhaps they are going to re-package udK's Syrius or Itjes latest and release those instead.The Polaris user group would be much happier then

Spanish ROM
I´ve installed the spanish rom and if I use the original SPL it gets changed by a new one with version POLA100/3.130000/CPLD-2.
I´ve never seen that on a cooked rom.

Agree totally with you. A device such as ours last for a year. Why do you want HTC people to devote time on present and past devices ? They have already announced new generations to come within the next few months.
Still, I think my Polaris will still be useful until such time a much much better PDA comes to light.
Besides, take away XDA-developers and some other sites, do you think the manufacturers will have more creative minds? No sir, people like you and other
guys alike itje and udk are their main contributors for good ideas. Our forums are read daily by all manufacturers.

Is the Official German o2 release of wm 6.1 that much different than HTC version aside from not having the HTC homepage, etc..?:

Yes... with 6.1, the Polaris just becomes a more stable version of itself, with some enhancements -- more of what it should've been upon release. Will definitely hold us over until WM7, at which point it'll be a good time to get a newer device

I think the reason they don't post it on the web is because not all languages are ready yet. When they post it every language should be available or there will be another problem, right ?
For now I'm using wwe (waiting for portuguese) and it works flawlessly. Ok, I don't have manilla but all radio function work, I've got voip working, I can use wmplayer with htc home (so my calls don't get everything malfunctioning while using bluetooth), and I got portuguese keyboard working (registry tweak needed). So I think it's probably the real deal. And let's face it if they released a upgrade with manilla would you buy the new touch for 600€ while you can get a polaris for 400€ nowadays? So we will be stucked with a stripped version of wm6.1 or if you look on the bright side at least is wm6.1 and stable.

Here is the TIME for Official WM6.1 on htc.com ???

Official ROM update on HTC support - MISSING??

Just visited HTC site to see if they have put the O2 branded ROM update up yet and the 1.48 ROM that was there yesterday seems to have gone?? Here's hoping they are re-uploading it to apply to ALL HD2s !

Hmmm I just checked and yeah it doesn't exist anymore... maybe they pulled it and because 1.61 is maybe coming out very soon?
Worldwide it does not appear if you go to the UK site it is still there.... silly me!!

I was just there, impatiently checking for a UK release of the 1.61 ROM, and the 1.48 is still there. It's dated 9/12/09, which we know is rubbish, but still there!

1.48 was total bogus afaik, and im thinking htc realized that too now, seeing how they without-a-doubt will know that roughlly half the hd2 users from this forum already run 1.61, since it DOESNT HAVE BROKEN CORE FUNCTIONALITYS, like one would expect from a hightech phone.
1.48 is Gone from htc site over here aswell, i srsly hope there will be a official worldwide 1.61 soon

No mate - the release date is rubbish. I think they should be a bit more careful about their release dates, as that's more like the date that it was "leaked", but not "officially" available on their site. (Lots of " when I talk about HTC "release" process )
Incidentally, it's still available in the UK. It doesn't make sense!

They never removed it from the site... and it was never in the support list... On my side, I've got the official link from xda... Hopefully, some poeples here read the (boring) official announcments

I think they've removed it because it doesn't have a so much good overall performance/number of bugs/usability improvements.
Anyway, the 2.01 ROM is a whole new story.

Come on you lovely people who have leo tmous 2.07 rom, please share. someone has it to extract the radio. us poor leo owners have had no good leaks for this year, and personally i find its getting painful, i also now start to stare at the wall and smoke copious amounts of mary j to help with my sorrows.

i have some small parts of it - oemdrivers/and -drivershigh... be patient and wait, i am shure it will be leaked in the next few days
it will be a nice rom - all debug things from 2.02 are gone, for me the pink colour in photo is gone - some changes with LED light ...

anyone fancy sharing what they have got? I know we have to wait but need new toys to play with apart from lighter and tobacco. On the upside, thumbs up on the new radio. Working well for me (UK)

New and better Roms are being cooked everyday and im sure the 2.07 Rom will be leaked very soon. On the new Rom there seems to be an HTC Reader Tab which allows you to read books and all reports say its very fast and stable so be patient and as soon as its available it will be used to cook shiny new roms for you to play with

did they say they have it in the first place?
as far as I know, the 2.05 is released via 3gnet, and I have checked (read it myself, no google translation so nothing is missed there) they didn't release any 2.07. I doubt anybody has it other than those few folks in 3gnet.

I'm going to stay out of these sharing discussions for a while. Doctor said my blood pressure is up. They whole thing gets under my skin but I'm going to set back and shut up and wait. Not worth having a heart attack over.

Can I ask why you feel the need for 2.07? Apart from having a higher number, virtually nothing is changed between 2.05 and 2.07. 2.05 has new things compared to 2.02, so I can see why that's wanted.
There seems to be a trend for "newer is always better", but unless you know something I don't, the 2.07 ROM doesn't have many changes compared to 2.05.

i think the trend is " I would also try the rom not shared"

the 2.07 is only out in dump version, that is ONE BIG DIR.. ...
i haverebuilt it manuelly, and difference from 05 is almost none, so place dont beg anymoore 2.05 is best at the moment...

the need for the rom was because i wanted to check whether their was any performance issues with the 2.07 rom. Now as the chefs are confirmed 2.05 faster. i dont need it anymore.

I got my phone on a vodafone contract (although the phone box says suitable for orange on it) and its got 1.66 ROM and the same radio as posted... so does this mean that the new phones (mines a few days old) are being shipped with it...?

you're is probably not on the VF ROM - it'll be an unlocked one...check by going to the HTC support site and put your serial number in. If it takes it it's not on a VF vendor ID

if they weren't going to they'd have released it by now

Some questions, firstly if they have customised it how have they managed to destroy it and secondly shall I stay HTC 1.66 WWE or go with Vodafone 1.66 WWE

I think I'll stay with the HTC one imagine flashing the VF version and ending up with the VF red/white stuff all over the place lol

I notice the ROM version is 405.2 where as WWE is 405.1 I wonder if they have maybe fixed some stuff as 1.66 WWE still has some issues (just had to battery pull as mine just locked up again)

Actually... going back to some correspondance i have had with Vodafone.... this ROM will most likely not be customised.
It is being released as a response to the overwhelming unhappiness of Vodafone customers on 1.43.
There is a fully customised ROM in the pipeline though.

seriously, whats the point in them adding things? I'm on VF and all their services run absolutely fine. I can't for the life of me see how they can improve on what HTC, or even the chefs on here, can create...

It is indeed unlocked as you surmise... I entered my serial number and the download started... woo hoo... unlocked is what I was after... nice...

For anyone on O2 that happens to be reading this, , if you got your device in the last few weeks there has been reports that the roms are not provider locked on the newer shipped devices.
For all networks, best way to check is put your serial in the HTC website, if it's accepted, you have a wwe HTC rom, if it's not, you have a wwe provider locked rom.
