Hello All,
I have been having problem with my sound profiles on my HD2. I usually have my HD2 on Vibrate profile and after a while it auto changes to Silent profile. Resulting me in missing all my calls and events. I have tried different ROM's and radio and it still occurred.
So I finally found the root cause of it...I have my phone auto pair with my car built-in bluetooth system. So what I have noticed is, when i switch the car ON, it pairs with my phone and set the volume to Normal profile. After switching the car off and exiting it, it switches back to Silent profile and not the original state i.e Vibrate.
I am not even sure why it even changes sound profile to Normal upon pairing in the first place....is there a way i can tweak or prevent these changes?
P.s: I'm running wm6.5.5 Rom ( Touch X-treme ROM)
Bump...no one has any ideas?

I have got several very annoying device hangs during incoming call without visible reason. Today I take notice that each time before it I used FM radio. So I play a little with it and now can present reproducible scenario (firmware 1.48, tested on 3 different devices):
- connect headset, switch on FM radio, lock the screen
- disconnect headset, wait 1 minute until FM auto shutdown (screen should be locked all this time)
- after answering next incoming call - no sound, ticking connection time, interface slowly dying
After manual application closing no problems occur.
I have the same problem, but also after I used the FM radio and call the phone freezes and can handle only with soft reset. Problem does not occur every time, but always after when used FM Radio.
(firmware 1.43)
Key moment - locked screen during FM auto shutdown. Manual exit allows to bypass the problem.
Thank you for the informations. I suspected FM Radio was the cause of the problem but I was not sure yet.
Does this freezing occur in a stock HD2? Is HTC aware of this problem?
HI
I've experienced the same. I was using the headset and listening to music played on Windows Media Player, and a call came through. The call received 100%, and after call had ended the phone crashed restarting the music. I had the phone tethered to USB to boost battery charge. Had to hard reset device as it was no longer responding to anything.
Thanx
I believe this is the problem I have.
My phone freece 14s in a cal coming in.
I remember now that this probably always happenes when the FM radio is on, and an incomming call comes.
Maybe I unplug the headset, maybe I dont. Will test both scenarios. But everytime, I have no sound from the person that calls me, and after 14s, the phone freece totaly. Only display on/off works (hardbutton).
Batt out is the only sollution.

HD2 hangs during incoming call
I have this problem of the phone hanging on an incoming call, cant hear anything but the call connects. I have upgraded to the latest rom on the HTC website WWE. And I did not even turn the radio on.
I am in Hong Kong. I have the problem of HD2 hang after playing the music or FM radio. Then I changed the official rom to energy , but the same problem encountered, even I changed various of screen lock. These few days, I started to suspect the FM radio and found some scenario of HD2 hang are the same as yours.

Yes, I got it........ It is a 1min time boom after disconnect the earphone when listening the FM radio. To activate it, u must turn off the screen during count down.
Bluetooth switches itself off when my new DHD goes into standby.
This means that when using a headset and the phone rings, I can't pick up the call with the headset, and the phone doesn't switch the audio back to the headset if I switch Bluetooth back on during the call and press the reconnect button on the headset - this would be expected behaviour, and has worked on other phones.
I can't find a setting to fix this problem, nor a solution in these forums or elsewhere. Is it a bug or have I missed something?
Ok I've found the problem: I'm running an app called battery Booster designed to help conserve battery power. One of its default settings includes turning off Bluetooth when the device is locked. D'oh!
I have a stock Verizon XV6900 running WinMobile 6.1. I have an issue with the sound profile changing almost every time I turn my bluetooth on or off.
The 6900 comes with only three sound profiles: on, vibrate, and off. I keep mine on vibrate. Whenever - again, _almost_ every time - I turn my bluetooth on or off, the sound profile will change from vibrate to either on or off. I've used different bluetooth devices - Jabra, Motorola, and Plantronics - and get the same results. I've spent time on the phone with Verizon "service techs" (both the non-help screen-readers and the ones who really knew something about the device), and they even forwarded me over the HTC technical support. Everyone has the same response: that's just a glitch in this device.
It's infuriating to miss calls because I took my bluetooth off and turned it off, and my phone went to sounds off! Is there a way to prevent this? Maybe a registry hack to keep the sound profile permanently set to either vibrate or on? Or maybe a script to poll the phone when the blurtooh connection changes? Something???
A drop-kick in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

Since flashing 7.1 my sound goes in/out. Sometimes it's all audio, or sometimes just certain things. Right now I get audio in apps and when changing the ring tone volume, but when selecting a ring tone or notification tone, I don't hear anything. Sometimes the dialing noise works, sometimes it's doesn't. Rebooting and/or change my profile doesn't help. I tried changing the overrides in the profile settings and that didn't do anything either.
Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?
So this only started happened after you flashed CM7? I had a somewhat similar problem because I replaced the back assembly on my phone and replaced the speaker in the process as the old was blown. Apparently, a screw had attached itself to the speaker and was keeping it from seating correct and causing audio to go in it out. In point, it could be a hardware problem and something is wrong with your speaker. Does head phones work, or the actual ear piece?
The speaker works because my phone rings when someone calls me, but sometimes the notification sound doesn't work when I get a text message. At this moment I still can't hear ring tones when I select them in the Sound settings, but it works when I get an incoming call. I know the speaker works fine. Phone calls work normally and if I play a Youtube video I get normal audio (but that didn't work this morning). It definitely seems like a software issue.
My phone was on unrooted Sense before 7.1 so that's all I have to compare it to, but everything worked fine then.
I found out if I switch from Default to Home profile, everything works again, but I can't figure out what in the Default profile is stopping the noise. I've checked everything 10x over.
wow i am currently having the exact same issue
Sound isn't working again. I only have one profile and yesterday I was getting sound with SMS, now I just get vibration. This is really frustrating. Anyone know what to do?
I really wish all the sounds/notifications were set in one place, instead of in the app, in the sound options, AND in the profiles. It's really confusing.
I think it's linked to bluetooth. If I use my headset for a call then turn off bluetooth, there is no audio on the phone (either speaker) until I reboot.
Hello gals and guys, you are my last hope.
I have a Galyxy S7 Edge G935F bought in Germany with no sim lock, i got it with G935FXXU1APAW, updated to G395FXXU1APC8. Yesterday i rooted it with CF-Auto-Root-hero2lte-hero2ltexx-smg935f based on XXU1APBF. I still have stock recovery.
The Problem:
Sometimes, while sleeping, the phone disables all sound.
This happens mostly while recharging, but it happened also while simply sleeping and not recharging. It is not reliably reproducable, sometimes the phone works for 2 or 3 days without the error occurring. Which makes the error very hard to find of course.
Sound off means: No media output is working (games, video, music), notifications are not sounding only vibrate, the phone doesn't ring when someone calls, just vibrates. No calls and notifications means, this is very severe.
When i plug in earphones or headphones, there is also no sound on the headphones. Putting in and pulling out the headphones does not reactivate the sound, so it seems not to be a problem with the headphone jack. The jack is very loose, though, doesnt hold the headphones strongly; but thats another problem.
The sound can be reactivated by the following:
- rebooting
- calling someone (i used to call my provider) or getting called (the first call gets lost, but when i get a second call, it works again)
- i installed an app called SoundAbout, which lets me route the sound to different outputs. I must first route media output to "earpiece" (the small loudspeaker you hold on your ear during calls) and then route the media back to "Speaker". Only this combination reactivates the sound again. Just activating "Speaker" or any other combination like for example first "Wired Phones" and then "Speaker" does not work. It must be "earpiece" and then "Speaker".
What i tried, without success:
- deleted all bluetooth devices
- disabled bluetooth
- enabled "prevent USB audio routing" in dev options
- uninstalled all kinds of apps having to do with sound or lockscreen
- played with all kinds of settings having to do with sound or lockscreen
I searched everywhere. A call to Samsung was not very helpful either. I might have to try a factory reset after all, but even if its good at factory, i still won't know the culprit.
But since the problem can be solved via software, i suspect it is software related or is at least diagnoseable via software.
Of course, it would be insanely awesome when someone could just present me the solution, but i would do all the debugging myself, if i only could.
I am a developer myself, but only on windows. My experiences on linux don't go much further than doing an "ls -la" on commandline and i am a total noob on android. I will not be afraid of using a terminal or adb, as long as i am guided a bit.
I hope, somebody can point me out how to diagnose and this thing.
Can one diagnose the current state of audio routing ? Can i manipulate it via commandline ? Are there other relevant components which i need to query ?
Could i write a script that pulls those queries every minute or so ?
And finally, if the wrong settings are found, are there log files which can point out who messed with those settings. Which apps would you recommend for those actions ?
Thanks to everyone in advance ...
Correction
just getting called doesn't fix anything. Only when i accept the call it gets fixed and then the next call rings again, of course. So this means, while the bug is active, i miss all calls.
