Disabling Weather, including home screen icon - HD2 General

Hi guys
Sorry if you all know about this but i remember someone asked about this before.
I have just stumbled up a registry tweak which completely removes the weather service from the phone, including the icon on the home screen (only the clock is displayed)
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/HTCService
Change the value of WeatherService from
WeatherService.dll -> WeatherService.dllx
Hope some of you find this useful

Can the HTC Home plugin only show the clock?

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if there is a way to make the HTC Home plugin only show the clock, like a registry edit or something? The thing is I use ultimate launch, and I dont need the new sms and missed call tabs, and the other tabs below with weather etc. They're just using space. I tried other home plugins that only have a clock, but I could not customize them the way I like (I really like the diamond clocks for HTC Home).
I've tried searching the forums (alot) for an answer, but I just could'nt find any. So sorry if this has been answered before!
Thanks
no registre... , easy manipulation
look
I want to remove the tabs completely, so I get the space to other plugins, if it's possible. Or another plugin that is a clock only that I can customize the same way as the HTC Home plugin clock.
I have also tried unchecking all the tabs in the menu you show me here, but I still get the four standard tabs (Home, weather, app launcher & profiles). Even edited the tab registry string, but they're still there.
Try this. I've use it and it's quite simple. In the today items don't choose htc home and use the pdc clock instead.
Thank you! But I allready tried it and I don't think I can customize it the way I want to.
When it comes to my question about removing all the tabs from the HTC Home plugin, I kind of figured out myself that it was pretty stupid. Since the home tab in the HTC Home plugin -IS- the clock, I now understand it's impossible to remove it and still have the clock.
But if anyone has a clock plugin that you can customize the same way as the HTC Home plugin clock, please post!
well what some people do is use the samsung clock instead of the htc home clock...
Try this link, it isn't HTC Home but the clock looks similar, but as far as I know you cannot customize it...

htc home-removing big clock solution (sort of)

hey guys,
I've been searching around and it seems like most people say you can not remove the big clock from the htc home plugin because everything else uses the same size or something like that. But digging around I found someone post this:
"goto HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome\
then edit the value of Tabsetting by remove number 1 and you wont see the clock.
unload and load the HTCHome plugin afterward."
do you think it will work? I have to buy a copy of spb backup first. Has anyone tried this with good results?
It will work, but it will hide all clock tab, including unread messages counters etc. You'll have only Weather and Programs.

Toggle Weather Animation On and Off Button...

I recently downloaded and ran an application, yes I have forgotten which one it is, that allowed me to add a quick link to my icons that allowed me to turn on or off the weather animation - this was a nice little feature...I would like to re-instate it but as I mentioned above it what ever gave me the link eludes me...call it old age...
Anyone able to shed some light on this I would be very greatful...
Thanks in advance
Scott
Co0kie's home tab has that...
MaxManila has it too, but it sounds like you only had a simple shortcut icon and not a theme.
Is there a way I can remove this application or change the registry to 'weather animation always on'? Every now and then the animation is turned off by itself (or by something I'm not aware of), I thought I had accidently hit the toggle button, but I'm pretty sure I didn't (moved it to a different spot on the screen so I wouldn't hit it when scrolling).
I have installed it with the Cookie home tab-cab.

Click to collapse
use one of your quicklink spots to add the weather animation toggle. Turn on weather animation, then you can delete the quicklink.
my weather toggle does not work as well
idk why
I have the same problem
Hi i have the same problem as you have described, but all i can seem to find is how to disable it and not how to get it back.
I have looked in the windows folder under animated wallpapers and i cannot find the weather one there and i am wondering if maybe it got deleted? and if so is there anywhere that i can download a copy of the file from?
Just add weather icon on home screen tabs. It will appear.
go to hkcu/software/htc/manilla/home.wallpapermode and change value to 0. that will re-enable weather animation on your home tab. set to 1 and it will disable weather animation...
You just need to tap on any empty quick link tap > it will bring you to another window > tap on Toggle Switch > tap on Wealther Toggle . When u see the Wealther Toggle just tap on to it to Toggle between " On or Off "

Simple AOD (alway on display) needed

Hey guys,
is there the possibility to install a simple AOD (alway on display) which only shows a picture - without showing the clock, weather, home button, messages - only a simple picture in the middle of the screen.
I've tried to shop for such an AOD but I can only find AOD's which already include pictures which I cannot change.
Hope there is a work-around or a customizable AOD.
Thanks!
In the AoD settings you can set it up to work like that.
I looked in the settings but there is no way of showing the image only.
There is show...
- Image - clock - home button
- clock - home button
- home button
but no "image only"
