Hello,
I'm listening The Outliers audio book on my HD2 and I put it on my storage card under a file "Audio Books". The book has over 100 mp3 files, so if I'm shuffling through songs in the music app, that book shows up and I constantly have to skip over the book files. Is there a way to put this book on my storage card without this happening?
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is anyway of setting only a particular folder to play music from on the storage card. The Sense music player is picking up every audio format e.g. ringtones and playing them???
all i did was create a folder on my mem card called music and my ringtones are on phone mem and music tab didnt find them
Thanks. I thought this was the case, but I have a lot of mp3 ringtones assigned to contacts and moving them all over to the phone memory just wouldn't be viable.
thare are serval discusions on that, around here. actually there is no way from stoping the music tab to play all sondfiles it find on the storage card (or at least only play a single folder). there are serval registry key and stuff but it looks that the music tab is ignoring them and do what it like to do.
mad
you could trim your ring tones or lower the quality of the file depending how many you have and if you can be bothered or just create a playlist and exclude the ringtones that prob the quickest option
Use a file explorer to make all the folders you don't want the Music Player to see, hidden. The phone will still see all of the ringtones etc... but they won't show up in the Media Player. It worked for me.....
sorry for bumping an old thread, I put songs into my SD card in the Music tab, I find WAZE nav sounds ( in mp3), what should I do so the Nav mp3's are not shown in the Music tab?
Hi All
I have put some wav files (full cd quality) on sd card but they will not show on music shortcut, I have to use file explorer and select the track which then plays in media player. I was trying to avoid the reduction in quality (compression) of tracks when syncing from pc by pasting the cd tracks direct to the card. Is there any way to display and therefore play with full functionality, "full fat" files on sd card from the music icon?

To be frank, can you really tell the difference between 177kbp/s CD tracks and 320kbp/s MP3s, especially through headphones?
Not sure - feels like I'm missing something. Using Windows 7 and Win media player when syncing to the phone tries to turn everything down (smaller file size - lower quality). I'm not bothered about having an entire library on the card, 2 or 3 cd's is fine, I swap em around whenever I need to. What do you suggest for max quality that I can sync that will show up in library / music tab? I'm also not bothered about album art.

You can set WMP up to rip to 320kbp/s MP3 under:
Organise -> Options -> Rip Music
That should sync them to be the same bitrate.
If you are adamant you want to use .WAV files, WMP mobile plays them fine, not sure why the Music tab doesn't use them.
I have tried syncing my music to my DHD. I have a lot of songs about 7 GB and ant to sync all of them on the phone.
The file names and tags for a lot of songs are Greek and others in English
I have tried the HTC sync software with an option to sync all the music. After a lot of time syncing most of the music does not appear on the Music player. Most of it missing is the Greek music but the strange thing is that some of the Greek music is there.
I have tried the same with Doubletwist and have the same problem. After syncing with Double twist I can see most of the music on the Music folder on my SD card using Astro but despite the fact that the music is there on the SD card it does not appear on the Doubletwist music player.
In addition Doubletwist did not sync about 3 GB by saying that the same file name exists already (which is not true).
Has anybody experienced similar problems? Could it be that the Greek tags are creating problems? (some greek songs with greek file names actually appear)
The Music app seems to load every audio file on my internal and sd card memory. How can I make it so that Music will only check my music folders? I tried the .nomedia trick but everything still shows up. I appreciate any help.
Does anybody else have this issue? I have audio books, recorded calls, voice memos, etc showing up in winamp, music, etc
Really? Im the only one here with this problem?
what i have done for every phone i have had is make a music only folder on the sd card and no other files in the folder and it works perfect.
i dont really think winamp and the default music player have folder options but i think power amp does
I do only have music in my music folder. these players are grabbing all audio files, even ones they can't play for some reason (ie: wav), from every folder on both the internal and sd memory. i have put a ".nomedia" file in all other folders besides the one with my music ion it and still no good. i will take a look at this power amp though.
Okay checked out power amp. it does have folder options which totally fixes my issue but it's a paid app... you shouldnt have to pay for this kind of feature.
hmm..that is weird.. I also just created a 'Music' folder on my SD card, and my music player has no problems.. it doesn't see anything else but that folder for music..
I stuck all my ringtones, notifications, alerts on the internal SD like this:
\media\Audio\Alarms
\media\Audio\Notifications
\media\Audio\Ringtones
those do not show up in my music list when I open the music player..

Hi all, noob to the s4. Was surprised when it didn't come with sd card. Read about the storage issues a bit. Wanted to put my music library in phone. Installed sd card- success. Camera recognized it, all pics go to the card. Loaded a metric ton of music on the card. Phone works great, all songs play just fine.
Now for the question- plugged the device to the pc for the first since installing the sd card. PC reads "phone" and "card" or something like that. Browse the card for the music files and only a fraction of the songs appear. More detail: My existing music library was mostly organized into artist folders, with a handful of song files not being in a folder. Well it is those songs that show up and only those songs, none of the couple hundred "folders" that have all the music. Weird or....
One last thing, and thanks in advance for your responses!
I am a picasa type of guy and that has always been my preferred viewer. When browsing existing phone camera photos on the pc, the thumbnails are really low res and the files only open with windows picture viewer. Any ideas why? Thanks again, I'm all ears.
