Not sure how to hide them.
I have seen a recent 6.5.3 ROM that had the Start Menu button disabled but it still had the 2 soft keys, possibly one of Pisca's releases.
I would suggest you give Max Manila theme a try where it can be set to minimize the bottom bar.

Thnx for the quick response.
I will be using Spb Mobile Shell, and in the previous ROMs i tested, those buttons were covering the Mobile Shell Buttons.
If i have to manually minimize those buttons every single time, that would be annoying. I am looking for a simple solution per Registrychange.
I think I understand now.
The right soft key is not configurable in Sense 2.5
You can try to set your left soft key to SPB MobileShell in registry;
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila HomeLSK Path & Text
Hope this is what you were looking for.

Thanks for trying to help, it wasn't what i was looking for.
I used to have a problem with one of the cooked WM6.5.3 ROM using spb Mobile Shell. The WM6.5.3 Buttons were covering Mobile Shell buttons. Now with the latest WM6.5.3 ROM and Mobile Shell 3.5.3 i am not having this problem anymore.

HI there,
I'm also using spb mobile shell V2.1.1 on my ipaq 612c and have the same problem, initially i thought it was a device specific problem but after long search in google,i came across SPB forum site and it seems this is a common problem for v2.1 and they are aware of it.SPB will come out with an update to fix this issue.
Another annoying issue for me is that, the "OK" key on the hard keypad is not really working properly.when i use the key to close programs,it does not really close the programs and the programs are still running in the background. The OK key on the left side of the device works fine.Any solution to fix this "OK" key on the keypad?
Thanks
hi Iznee,
Yeah i found out the same, but the good news is that SPB shell has just released version 2.12
I've just installed it and the backlight works great!
I just uninstalled the old verion then installed the new one, and it accepted my old registration.
The OK key (if you tap onthe screen, press the side button ot press the keppad button does the same for me, always minimises the current window. What i did was install a small app called "magic button" that makes the "OK" button an exit button, and closes the windows.
This is a fault in all WM devices. The are a lot of custom sofware that will do the same as magic button, but magic button is free.
Hey guys,
As the title says Ive got a very annoying problem with my xperia. Problem is that the right function keys (silver one) assigned action always changes from "right function key" to "Today" upon restart.
Id like to not do a hard-reset if possible. Anyone got any suggestions how to make sure it sticks with what action I assign to it?
Cheers

sounds to me like the assignment isn't "sticking" in the registery and goes away after restart. try a registery editor and manually assign the key to the program you want.

i have the same problem. do you have tf3d installed ?
yes I do have tf3d installed. which registry key should I change?
I have the same problem. In addition to tf3d I installed the cab that enables to make a panel out of it. Help?
Use AEBPlus to re-assign the key(s). For each hard keys, you get 4 different actions. You will appreciate what u can do with the hard keys!
Also mine after installed touchflo3d.
Guys, remove TF3d! We have a Xperia, X-panel is more than enaught.

doesn't work in my x1. something keeps changing the registry value back ... :-(
yep I had this problem too when I installed TF3D. In the end I uninstalled it because I wanted the right button mapped to voice command and it got annoying having to remap it after every soft reset
if someone has successfully stopped it automatically setting it to "today" please tell us how
I am using Touch-HD Manilla instead of TF3D and don't have this problem. Why not use Touch-HD Manilla instead? From what I read, this is faster than TF3D.

Post 2 Manilla HD, components
I have only so far installed Manilla HD Full, and have never tried the the individual components.
Interesting, I have this too, and I also have TF3D installed as a panel...

and you're using manilla hd full ?
Yes, am using Manilla HD Full. Also installed the T3FD panel, but later removed it.
I am on ROM 1.02 (was on ROM 1.01 also) by Jack Leung, AEBPlus works on both with Manilla HD Full installed. Didn't bother to install the panel.
I have Touch HD,but I also have this problem,why...
Just curious, are you on the original rom?
I understand some ROMs, the email signature also doesn't get saved. Wonder if this is a related issue.
Hi Good Peoples,
Is anyone working on modified menus for SBP Shell so that they will work on the HD?
I was using something that looked like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2026760&postcount=433 on my Touch Diamond and would like something similar for my HD.
Install Spb Shell 2.1.3 an use this skinning programm: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424933
Many thanks. I will give it a go.
SPB Shell 2.1.3 works fine.
Been using it since it was released.
Spb have just released an UPDATED version of Mobile Shell - this has the issue of drop-down menus fixed.
They cannot give a date when other programmes such as Diary will be fixed, but claim it is a straightforward fix that will be addressed in the next update for each module.
That skinning program (a few posts above) is brilliant and just what the doctor ordered.
Hello !
I am working woth the actual newest build and it is working fine on the HD.
It has all necessary options and gives the HD the final touch.
It is worth the money. There is also no need to get extra themes - the installed one is great.
I can recommend to use the new SBP keyboard, too.
Althoug the HTC keyboard is very good, the SBP one is better and has also a rumble feedback when touching a key !

does SPB keyboard have the left/right and up/down navigation buttons that appear on the bottom of the HTC keyboards?
I have tried SPB pocket plus. It's a nice program, but it has a problem with drop down menues too
When editing or customizing the tabs (for eg. tab Home), the "Categories" drop down menu doesn't show other possibilities like Programs,... It shows just Indicators.
Hello
no it does not have the cursor like buttoms - up down right or left
sorry
Is it possible to edit registry to launch iContact & Calendar Touch from default key presses rather than use soft keys or direct icons eg press contacts and iContact is launched.
Thanks

THats correct.
There should be a registry keysomewhere but cant find it .
I am running Duttys 6.5 rom R6, and I changed the left soft key to comm manager and right soft key to Calculator, and I did this using steps 14.4 and 14.5 in HD Tweak.
Which are titled Home Left softkey and Home Right softkey.
MOD EDIT
I've changed and deleted a couple of posts to make easier reading
HD Tweak does not change soft keys on roms using manila 2.5.

Hi! Left a software the button on a homepage
i want to change to Telephone button. How do i it ?
Hi out there...
I received a Jade a week ago and searched around the internet for possible upgrades. There were many of them and one of them was Mobile Shell 3.
There was just one problem for me. How do I get TF2D and MS3 work at the same time. After some trying i found a way how it worked for my Jade.
Step 0 - Install M2DC
For everybody who hasn't done this yet or don't know what it is. Just click the link below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392
This program helps you to customize your TF2D.
Step 1 - Install MS3
Not much to explain. Just install it.
Step 2 - Make a Soft Reset
Also pretty easy
Step 3 - How to change between the two Shells (TF2D and MS3)
3.1 - From MS3 to TF2D
In the lower right corner there is a small button. Click it and choose Today-Screen. Now TF2D should start and be on screen.
3.2 - From TF2D back to MS3
Here you'll need M2DC. Go to the tab Softkeys. There you've to choose which Softkey (the keys in the lower right and left corner of the homescreen) should be assigned to a specific action. I choose the right key cause I don't really need the cam-shortcut.
Name the softkey how you want. Mine is called MS3. Then you've to assign a command to the key. Click at the three dots and go to the place where Spb Mobile Shell is installed and search for the application "MenuLauncher.exe". Typically it is at "\Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell\MenuLauncher.exe".
Then click Apply and wait. Now you can switch at the Homescreen back to MS3.
I hope I could help you with this guide. If there some questions, please ask. I'll try to help.
Best wishes Floh
