Question regarding ROM's - Hero, G2 Touch General

I am currently using Hero Plus that has some of the HTC stuff included in the ROM but is not using sense as homescreen.
Been looking at some stuff regarding 2.1 ROM's
So what I am looking at is a lightweigh 2.1 ROM with HTC Exchange support but without Sense!
Anyone knows about anything like this?

take a look at "vanillian"

Ah! I was looking at that one but couldn't really confirm that it was running the HTC Exchange email app

Well I don't use that rom, but I think it does.
Although it may not be currently working but should be fixed in the next release.
Ask in the thread for that rom you will get a better answer.

I'll probably just try it out doing a Nandroid backup of mine and testing that one
Thanx for the help!

***** New TouchFlo 3D ROM - From HTC *****

Hi guys as many of you may already know, with the release of the new Touch Pro & Diamond, HTC is releasing a new Touchflo version with many new features (see video)
http://www.intomobile.com/2009/02/19/htc-touchflo-3d-walkthrough-video-new-and-improved.html
I was wondering is any of you have knows where to get it from, or when will it be released. I am aware of xda ROM's such as dutty's XTREME, etc. However am not in the position to sacrifice performance & stability for a beta. Moreover dont have the time to be messing with the phone. Therefore I rather stick to the original release.
I will keep looking around for more info, if any of u have any thoughts on this matter lets share.
Take care guys, adn thanks in advance.
.
Agree with you. Would be fun with a little updating tf3d

It's probably more an IF then a WHEN
but the wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone_Ship_exe
keeps a list of official roms so I guess just keep on checking that
Most of the "new" features have already been implimented in the touch HD initial release. the only thing i really need is the calendar tab - and that was added to all the new cooked rom's.
In short - I don't really see anything new in this tf3d...
as for using a "beta" rom - I've been running the Dutty V2.1 extreme for the past few days - and it's running perfectly (anther chance to thank Dutty for all the hard work...)
So - i'd say - not "if" but "why not"... just flash Dutty - and you get all you want...
Alternative
What about that, while waiting for a integrated TF3D Rom ?

Okay, so you're aware of Dutty's ROM. Well, it's the same software you're reading about. It may never be released for the HD by HTC since it's meant to complement new hardware models.
I'm running it right now. Using Dutty's. It's great. I'd never even consider going backwards.

Thanks guys
thank u guys for the info
I really can't find any changes from the original TF3D i currently have on my HD.
It looks the same.

In my opinion it would be JACHeroski. Its stable and speeds are good.

If you have no idea where to start it's probably not a good idea, tbh. Anyway, have you updated the radio and SPL? You'll need to do that before flashing the ROM. My recommendation is also JACHeroski.
I too am interested in hearing peoples opinions.
I disagree that not knowing means you shouldnt, I have been using xda for years and its REALLY hard to keep up to date with things.
Especially since theres new ROM's coming out, it appears, daily.
So please give suggestions on which hero is best.
Also, do any hero's have bluetooth yet?
I have the JACHeroski 2.7.4 i started with that one off the bat, laggy as hell but i need to change the swap settings. I believe that the closest one to the Hero software, no bluetooth or led indicator for messages, they are working at it. Looking foward to flashing this rom on the MyTouch when they figured out how to root that phone
the hero roms are getting better but i dont think they are quite their yet. still seem a bit laggy to me
I'm using JacHero 2.7.4 w/ compcache and the SMStoGMail fix. I still not always getting sms's but atlest they sent to gmail so i still get them. W/ Comp i love the fact i can switch back to "reg" home and have speed but if i want sexyness i press home again and go touch flow. Oh also over clocking at 527/128. Fast and when screen is off saves bat. have 5 widgets going on Rosie with only 3 screens and only get lag when i start getting bunch of SMS and emails and Gtalk at same time. One my friends keep joking i flashing back to Cy once a day but now with the sms fix and speed i getting i never do again.

Android 2.1 on Hero

Hello all,
I know this topic most probably has been done to death here but I was wondering if anyone has tried this ROM and can provide some feedback on it.
http://www.taranfx.com/download-android-2-1-htc-hero
Thanks in advance
first ive heard of this its most prob a fake (ie not for the hero) try at your own risk lol any leaked hero rom would of been on here by now and i aint seen it lol
It's just behnaam and lox's rom community 1.8, ran it several times but I still prefer MoDaCo, none the less its pretty good and you get google navigation
You can find it here

It's for the GSM Hero & it's just early version the 2.1 build for the GSM Hero that Lox & Behnaam are working on.
I figured it was too good to be true but thought I'd better ask.
Is there any ROM greater than the 1.5 ROM that Sprint gives you for a CDMA Hero. I hear there's a 1.6 and a 2.0 ROM for Android, both of which have Google's turn by turn GPS thing. I'm looking to get that and also to hopefully get fixes for a number of problems.
My biggest problem is the stupid HTC Audio Manager which takes over control of AVRCP from my Bluetooth headset. One ROM I downloaded was just a zip file so I looked into it and saw this HTC Audio Manager thing. I was thinking I could simple remove it from the zip file and hopefully after flashing there would be no HTC Audio Manager to steal the AVRCP controls (Fingers crossed).
Thoughts?

Neither - Modacos ROMs are still based on 1.5

2.1 working
Hey guys! The geek inside of me started off 2010 with the 2.1 rom. It's usable... But honestly, you have to comply with force closes, gmail not syncing and a few bugs here and there (htc widgets not working properly, for example). Yet, I was able to see and use the new google maps, the "new" market... So let's put it this way: if I had 2 heros, I'd put modaco 3.0 on one and the 2.1 on the other, but since I don't... I guess MCR 3.0 is the best a hero can get at present. Just my opinion (consider that the lazy me still hasn't found time to revert to MCR, if 2.1 was UNUSABLE I would have most definitely taken the time to do it already, right?).
Ciao
whats so good about mcr 3.0? im on 2.2

a lot. you should check the changelog. there were several updated roms from htc released since then, and the kernel sources were released also. 3.0 is based on .66 rom, and has the custom kernel developed by paul and teknologist.
a tip: if you can wait a few days, paul will be releasing 3.1 this week, which is based on an OFFICIAL .66 rom, which will have no market issues and is probably faster than anything else before...
thanks, sorry im noob. i think i'll wait for a stable version of the 2.1 rom to be released

Need a good stable ROM...

Hi guys... I hope you can help me. I have been using my HTC Magic (32A) for a few months now (it's rooted and I have an Android 1.5 Sense UI based ROM) which at that time was probably the most stable. There are a few problems though... The most anoying of those problems is that sometimes when I call a person, the "successful connection vibration" remains for at least 10 seconds and it's impossible to understand what the other person says.
I don't want this to sound as a "what's the best ROM thread". I just need a nice, stable ROM (must be SenseUI, I love it) that doesn't have the problem I mentioned above and if it's possible to have all the nice features that I'm used to have with my Magic... Can anyone recommend some new "magical" ROM that fits the description? Thanks in advance!
I would say to try this but its not a senseUI
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=673394
I ran it on my g1 and my mytouch. It has android 2.1 and it runs really well.
must be sense?
cursorsense is your call, but you have 1.5 sense anyway. so it's the same thing.

depends on whether he is using cursorsense or not. might be an old version.
Check the dev section to find the last cursorsense released and compare to what version or ROM you are running. This is still the best sense if you want something fast and complete.

Cyanogen and desire rom

Not sure if this applies here or in the development forum but I'll give it a try in here. I know the root isn't out yet but I'm still lookong foward to using a custom rom on this awesome phone. I have never used the cyanogen rom and would to know some key feautures about it. Also I kind of want to use the desire rom as well, I've never used sense and that commercial for that new sense looks pretty awesome, anyone else gonna use that? Or maybe something other than those two? Thanks and sorry again if this belongs in development.
