I am begging someone to look into some app that can fool the 'Geolocation' on the nexus one and report a different location. So anytime an app checks my location using wifi , it will bock that. Sort of like a proxy, but not for the webrowser, rather for the phone itself.
Kind of what market enabler does, but for the phone as a whole
I really would like NBA League pass to work in Canada, and even US residents would like to view games that are blacked out in thier home towns.
The iphone has the same problem but its been hacked ages ago, with an app called 'Fake Location'
I will glady donate any $ neccessary, I'm sure its not a very hard task but its just not very famous/ demanded feature
Thank you, Samer.
I would also like this! B4 I switched from my iphone I was loving 2 be able 2 watch blacked out games! Since this season is basically over hopefully it be ready 4 next season

i think they will publish on 2012............

I got the acceptance today... it's not an application that you can download... it's web based and runs in an applet type application with a jnlp installer. Personally, I think it might be ok for prototyping... but good luck making anything that is close to advanced with it. It would be easier just to write the code.
i am waiting for my reply.........goooooogle............
I wish I had the mind of a programmer! I want to be able to code and write apps so bad, but I'm more of a visual guy. I do 3d animation. Every time I try to learn programming my brain begins to melt.

Agreed! I realllly wanna learn code but it boggles me. This app inventor may not be too advanced, but it'd be fun to tinker with to make small personal apps. Still waiting for my invite lol :impatiently waiting for google to email back:

Yeah, I just got one yesterday. But as eatmold says you can't use a custom icon on the phone (though that may be possible to do, but the people who know guard the secret - google say its on the list, but knowing them that will be 2012!)
However it is possible to export and import code (not java, some special google stuff) - so people might be able to exchange and share information.
i am a medical student.........for us Google application inventor is a wish come true.............
just think how long Gmail was in beta. still waiting on my invite

Get folder organizer. Might be one word. It allows you to place a widget, with a custom icon, that launches either a folder, or an app. So you'll have a stock app in the app drawer, but at least it'll look nice on your desktop
I asked for my invite second day. Still no invite

Took about 3 to 4 weeks. I rather enjoy it. Going to school for computer science and its great for learning basics. Its block dropping but the blocks say the code so if you try its a great teacher. N1
Im still waiting on my invite, perhaps its location based on the invites?
it may be location based of usage based. I applied a month ago and nothing yet. I even put detail about the app i wanted to create in my application to them.

I got the invite on Aug. 18th and I am in Maryland.

I got mine. I live in Virginia.
It's pretty neat, but I've been having issues with VoiceToText not waiting until my TextToSpeech is finished running.
Like, I'm trying to create a voice driven menu for hands free use so I ask a question and then want it to pause for an answer... Instead it starts talking and the VoiceToText box comes up at the same time. Frustrating...
Darnit! It seems like you are all on the east coast... but so am i lol. I'm in CT, maybe ill see it soon!

The new update for Words is showing as incompatible in the market. Does anybody have a way to get it on the A500?
I borrowed a friend's phone for 5 minutes and used astro to copy it off, along with the Sony live view app..
No idea why it's saying incompatible, but it works fine

think it's the cross device compatibility, not to mention the 72 hours per turn... you don't have to jump on right away to take your turn and the older crowd can jump in.
i have a few games with friends and their parents... check it once a day, and i'm good
if they made a GOOD RTS on android that offers those 2 options and i'll be happy.
Does anyone else's crash (the tablet version) after you submit the word and the ad shows up?
I should be happy though at least this version I can use the blank tiles, without it crashing.
I just came to nexus 7 from iPad 1. Had this great app called 'accounts'. Was wondering if anyone knew of a similar app for android.
What it basically does is allow you to enter you daily transactions. It then organizes them automatically with its great budget and forecast features. It also backs up automatically to dropbox
Here's a link of that app:

Thanks in advance.

I used this one a while ago, it sounds like this would meet your requirements:
My Money by N.AMRI
Without any doubt the one I use on all of my devices is EasyMoney.
Works well on both phones and tablets.
There are a number of reasons I prefer this over any of the others but one feature in particular is the 'Bill Reminder' at the foot of the main page which takes you to a date formed 'Upcoming Bills'.
This shows all future bills for the next 3 months.
You can get a 30 day trial here.
I use expense manager.

Mint is okay unless you bank with US Bank or, presumably, any bank that asks security questions periodically as well as remembers the "computer" accessing the account. Mint and US Banks can't seem to get this **** figured out, so therefore Mint is useless with those accounts.
It also categorized credit card transactions very wrong. My Apple Valley Liquor Store purchases (yeah, I like a beer once in a while) it categorized them as "technology purchases" or whatever...I freaked thinking my iTunes account was hacked since it looked like "Apple" to Mint and it truncated the rest of the business name. So, it isn't perfect by any means. Pretty much any Apple Valley anything (in my case) gets marked wrong. It might not affect everyone though.

I use Mint to keep track of all my charge card purchases. It is great for that. Never wanted to hook it to a bank account.

Hello All,
Can anybody tell me if there is a way to get a "Verizon Only" app, called Indycar 13, to run on our N4?
As a motor racing fan, I would love to be able to run this app while watching the races, but of course the Play Store says its not compatible.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS52encuaW5keWNhciJd
Is it really not able to run on our phones? Or is it simply a matter of getting it into our phone.
Thanks for any help.

Why dont u try Market Faker application. You can fake your carrier , if u r desperate about using this app
I'm no expert so please this is just spit balling, but I think market hacker will only allow him to download the app, same as if he simply side loaded the .apk from somewhere. Once in the app it will "detect" for my lack of technical terms, for a Verizon Sig of some sort and and to register it to a corresponding number. I remember way back when warez sites were really out in the open, somebody posting hacked versions of vzw NFL app, where you could watch the red zone channel on Sunday or NFL network any other time...and it would work for a week or two but then vzw would notice the same # being registered hundreds of times and **** it down....I assume this would be similar.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
1) Hopefully the hacked app maker was nice enough to include a function to change the fake Verizon #.
2) Find a friend with a Verizon # and use that #.
3) Profit!
I don't think it works that way...pretty sure the app has to be edited with working numbers and what not.

I am looking for a radar only app and have narrowed it down to Radarscope and or Pykl3.
Have any of you used either with the S4? What do you like better? Any other suggestions?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 4
I personally have Radarscope, and while I enjoy it and most of its features, I'm not sure if I can really justify the price point of it. I mean, you can switch between a bunch of different radar options, but none of these are really going to be helpful unless you're a storm chaser out in Tornado Alley. Granted, I bought this because I'm attending a NOAA Skywarn class, but my point is that if you aren't actively trying to be a weather spotter, go with something cheaper, or even free. Weatherbug has a great app put together, along with a lightning detector. It's really feature filled. I have both on my phone currently, and it really comes down to me using Radarscope for storm tracks, and using the measurement tool to see how far away it is from my location. Then I switch over to Weatherbug to get all the instrument readings along with the recorded number of lightning strikes. Weather Station is also a great app if you want to utilize all the sensors in your S4.
Best-of threads are not allowed but maybe we can treat this as an "informative" thread about radar and weather apps. That being said, try a few and see what works best for you...no one else can tell you.
Now, for the "informative" part. I use an app called RadarNow. It has a free version and a pay version with more options. Personally, I like it. The Dev(s) support it with updates and it just works very well. Every now and again there is a lot of "noise" in the radar view(s), but that can be expected with just about any radar app. So, give it a try, like I sais, there is a free version on the Play Store.
Raindar here , Have had it for over a year roughly , Have never really had any issues with it and seems pretty accurate .
Thank you all for the information. This wasnt intended for what's best type thread.
