My sms alert will not vibrate or play audio. It will at first when I turn the phone on and then after awhile it stops and then after a soft reset its fine. Does anybody know any possible fix or what I could do so it stops going away.

I have a program called phonealarm. You can set the sound file, frequency of repeats, and number of repeats for SMS alerts, and most other notifications. I think it was $25 one time fee. Works great. It works like a regular pager. without it, you only get 1 notification.

whenever i click the recieve calls on my universal, i'll click the answer button.. and realize that it takes a lil longer for it to actually connect the call..
anyone here have the same problem here? any solutions??
tend to find it depends on:
1. THe phone skin you are using
2. Ring tone specific to each user
3. Caller id picture displays
4. Large ring tones
5. Other apps running simultaneously
6. How long since your last rom update
I think you will find that everydody experiences a 1 second to 2 second maximum delay
I am havin d same prob
Disable the skin on the dailer, and use a windows default ringtone. And a lot of free memory is always a plus
how to disable the dialer skin?
I believe it can be done here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Security/Phone/Skin
Then look for the DWORD "enabled" set it to 0
I am not sure about this though!!! You have to check google (like I did, and found this: http://www.buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=59&func=view&id=5075&catid=36
I have the same when I get a call, but I can live with that. My problem lately has been that when I get an incoming call my entire device freezes. I can press whichever button I like, but nothing works except a soft reset and then I would have missed the call. Has anyone else had this too? I hope it doesn't happen too often or else I send it off for repair (I pay insurance for a reason).

jup, mine sometimes starts vibrating and just doesn't stop.
Soft reset is the only way to get my phone working again

I have the same problem. When the MDA is open, everything works fine. But when the lid is closed, the mda freezes after an incoming call and softreset is the only solution. Any ideas about that?
Sometimes my phone turns on, displays call ID, and even rings via bluetooth, but it won't make an audible ring. I know that all volume settings are correct because afterwards my missed call sound plays.
Any ideas what is going on or how to fix it?
Hi, I get this too occasionally - all of a sudden I will get a voicemail message and the phone did not ring. then a few mins later I may get another call and it rings as normal...
I am running ringo, so if you are as well that might be the problem.
If i uncheck the vibrate option and an sms is incoming the sound would play. when i change to vibrate (not in options) my HD does not vibrate if an sms is incoming. When i check the vibrate option then my HD almay vibrate when an sms is incoming.
Anyone else with this problem?
same issue here, I'm always missing my text messages
No one else this bug?
That's the way it is made to work and I don;t think there's any fix for it at the moment. When ringer set to vibrate, on reception of SMS, the vibrate option is checked in the settings before vibration. Else, no vibration. I would recommend you have vibrate option turned checked always..

Carty..
Go to HKeyLocalMachine\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL and change "DisableSMSWakeUpEvent" from 0 to 1...

It is "1".
I change it to "0" and the vibrate works but the screen is now going on. Seems to be a problem with the standby.
Hmm, there seems to be no solution yet or are we the only ones with this problem?
i also got this problem and i find it very annoying
The weird thing is that it did vibrate the first few days i got my HD, but now it only vibrates when i get an sms when not in standby.
I previously owned a diamond and it got no problems with vibrating on incoming sms...
I hope this can be fixed
I hope this too, cause this "fix"

works only for SMS and not for MSN. This problem seems to be a standby issue.
i also got this problem. just for fun i activated sound for different actions and now suddenly my phone vibrates when i receive sms and e-mails!! no sound though! haven't tried msn.
well, this is excactly how i want my phone to act so i am happy, though i don't understand the logic ...
When i receive an sms, sometimes, it will vibrate when i'm on vibrate mode. sometimes it will ring when i'm on normal mode. so there are times when it wont vibrate or ring. and also, the LED notification onli works when i switch off standby mode. whats up with that? is there a way to fix these bugs?
Not at the moment. I too am hoping for a fix, but SE have not announced anything else since MR2 so I think thats it unless someone who is a good coder or good with reg editing can figure out how to do it

The only thing I did was to use short sms ringtone
so everytime I get sms I hear the sound.
i tried that but doesnt always work when in vibrate mode. it will just randomly stop vibrating when a text is recieved. have to soft reset to get it working again.
huh. man. it still has loads of problems. theres also the video playback. anybody getting the issue? it doesnt run smoothly.
Hi, I thought Sidelight would do the trick, and it works great, EXCEPT for the fact that it only alerts once and then stops. Often I'm out of the work vehicle and I won't see that notification alert and will end up not knowing anything came through.
Is there an alternative option for this phone that will simply give a recurring visual alert on the screen for calls and texts that I've missed?
