general themes and new skins and other apps

am i right in saying that any wm6.1 theme will work on the pro 2
for newbs to WM like my i dont want to install anything that may cuase issues as i feel i dont have enough knowledge or experince in wm to put them right
this is an example very good app and very clear instruction

will there in time be things like this for the pro2 or can you just look for things that were made for the likes of the HD or diamound HD

on this can some one point me in the right direction of the correct version of SDk certs i need to install
if what i read is right i take it i need to install this to get some programs to load

Depends... Things like TF3D themes then No as they are customized for the screen resolution, ie QVGA, WVGA, VGA, so pick carefully or your flobar will be in the middle of your screen.
Top Icons should be a yes, they all use 32x32 ico files within the dll, so it should be ok, but not tested this. However, I did load so many with my Blackstone and they were all fine. Note that there are CMDA versions and GSM versions.
Pictures you will just have to get 480x800 pictures for backgrounds.

actually u need Wisbar Advance Desktop 2 for running that theme (as mentioned on the site). And WAD2 isn't categorized as a freeware. U can also try using iphonetoday or ifonz (both are free)
search it on development and hacking section

i haven't tried iphonetoday but i ever tried ifonz and WAD2 with iphone skin.
ifonz has better animation than WAD2's, it runs as similar as the real iphone's.
But on WAD2, u can put any images or even just a word that u can use as shortcut/icon to run your apps. That's why it's not free

Yes, 2.5 is a little heavy as you say on the HD but I find Xannytech 1.7 to make the most use out of the HD's abilities at the moment. The truth is, you should try a couple of Roms out to see if you like it.
GPS options? Well there are many:
IGO,TomTom, Garmin, just to name a few. None of these are free.

Xnor v1.3 is the most stable of his rom. I've tried other roms and kept coming back to this rom. Close to stock rom too.
I'm using Ndrive and iGo amigo

The reality is only you can choose. I'll tell you one rom and the next person will tell you another, and we'll both swear that these are the best and fastest and most stable etc, all of which makes you no closer to a decision.
The best advice is to read the threads for the various roms and see what the users are saying about it, from there you'll see if there are major bugs with the rom. Also look at screenshots and see if you like the rom version (ie bottom buttons vs top buttons). Make your shortlist and try a few out. What one person likes may not be to your liking.
Whatever you choose, be sure to read this thread before going with any cooked rom.

Weather on Home screen? Any Ideas on how to do it?

I just got my new HTC Touch HD this morning and am im looking to know how these people are getting the weather on there home screen, could anyone tell me?

Hello!
The weather on the homescreen is not part of the normal touch HD software.
To get this (and other features) you will need to flash a 'custom ROM'.
these are basically modified versions of the software, with features taken from newer HTC devices (e.g. touch diamond2 and HD2).
Its not difficult, but you will have to read the instructions carefully and take care, as it is possible to brick your device if you don't do it correctly.
Once you have learnt how it is done, you can flash news ROMs quickly and easily.
If you really want to do it, set yourself a couple of hours, and read through all the info in the 'Flashing' part of the wiki here:

However i really dont want to change the stand feel off the phone, cant you change it to the HD2 display? As i dont want new fancy looking buttons that make the phone look arful.

you cant get the weather homescreen without using a custom ROM
Try the Topix Windows mobile 6.1 ROM, it will add home screen weather, but does not have many of the other features of the HD2

don't know about the ring tones mainly cause I don't like them. When I did use them in the past, I would usually trim a portion of a song that I liked and used it as a ringtone. As far as the rom is concerned, I use cell evo rom series http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=622883

Cell Evo Roms are all GSM sim roms rite...i like Energy Rom 2...which rom do u think is really great for battery life for u...i meant 2.5 roms...n for ringtone i use to use Htc mp3 rip software 2...i got a cool funny ringtone u might like..

Just a thought but maybe you might want to change the title of your thread. Judging by the questions you asked, you're not asking what is the best "ROM" available. You want opinions. Opinions on thinks that do not pertain to the ROM itself.

Well in my opinion I believe McCune's Cosmik Debris is the fastest ROM out there. After a clean flash, the screen rotates in like less than a second lol and EVERYTHING on it works fine.
It's super clean and if you want sense 2.1 or 2.5 there's cabs out there that install it onto your phone and you can then install the cookie home tab or what have you.
That's just my 2 cents though ;p.

He is asking for a CDMA ROM. Not a GSM ROM.
