Exactly. That is a fat rounded phone. Horrible looking representative of the phone! It looks nothing like that at all.

No, they already started calling them windows phones on the WM6.5 HD2.
Those rounded corners are ugly, btw.
Seems like the marketing artist decided to take some liberties and make it shorter and rounder or they had a bad graphic file to begin with.
To be honest there have been quite a few visual representations of the HD2 that are squat or squared. I remember the same thing with the Original Samsung Omnia.

I'm guessing that is a T-Mobile US advert and the buttons reflect that model.

Correct, the US version has Red and Green phone keys on the bottom. It's not any more rounded than the HD2 though.

Unfortunately I would totally agree on that. Was thinking that it could be a potential replacement of my Fuze, not so much now... How did they manage to make a pretty decent looking phone ugly how...

The super Tuesday being refered to is next Tuesday because that is the day Microsoft said it was releasing Windows Mobile 6.5 along with several carriers announcing availability of WM 6.5 phones. It is the official launch date for WM 6.5 basically.

you should be able to get it today in NY at least. I played with the floor model for a bit. its not as ugly in person. its not ugly at all in person. it does look horrible on the box art though.
Apart from the AT&T branding, this is identical to the t-mobile Compact V..... the case, the silver inlay on the back, earpiece, ..... all the same.
Only thing I can't see is if it has the mini-usb cover on the bottom but I guess it has.

Yes, it's the same as T-Mobile MDA Compact V except logos on front cover.
Ok I have to ask, why do these carriers change the phones? I'm not just talking about the TD2. I prefer the original versions, not to mention the carrier branding, ugh.

Perhaps its ugly, perhaps its got no headphone jack... Regardless, I'm probably buying one of these later today or sometime this week for analysis/experimentation It will be nice to have a phone smaller than my fuze tho... it is kind of thick (And yes, I'm aware its thinner because of the lack of keyboard). Ill post back here when i get it, and post whether or not its as bad as everyone thinks.

It may look better, but is much harder to use.
The buttons on the Nexus One are really bad. You should be glad that they did NOT make them like that.

much like capacitive dpad from diamond, at least that's what I understand had that phone, never owned one.
Cool looking, sure, but I can press buttons in the dark just by feeling their surface thi way... plus, you get more satisfaction out of the tactile feedback

The image I posted is a HD2 (not) running Windows 3.11 so it has the same physical layout as the original HD2, but obviously would run about a million times faster than WinMo 6.5 lol

Google needs some damn designers...lol. People with vision...the Nexus S/2 should looked like the HTC ONE concept some design student mocked up...with a few additions for usability.

They basically call up sony/htc/apple/samsung and ask what new platforms/devices they have coming up. The respective companies show them a line up, google bids on them, and then they tweak it slightly (color/finish/very minor hw changes).

Interface is definetly different..status bar, "touchwiz"....
And two homebuttons...maybe the one what we use as a home button isnt home button.
