Nice. I hope the Nexus One will be the first one to get it!

Bloody hell. It's real. Thought you were trying to pull a late April's Fool or something.
Maybe we can expect FroYo around the same time (or preferably some time before) the Evo comes out?
I think next week a leak will happen..

I'm going to assume some Google employees already have Froyo if applications are already starting to support it. Though, I don't see why they would make notice to us that Froyo support has been added to applications if it isn't publicly available or coming soon. Unless.. it is coming soon :/

That would be a safe guess...look at 1-4 on the Nexus One section
http://www.greenecomputing.com/apps/linpack/linpack-by-device/
What the hell is FroYo. I have never heard of it
Oh, codename for the next Android version. Sheesh
From the sounds of it, Froyo will be coming out around June/May, if I were a betting man. time line wise, and what not, it makes the most sense. Plus, with Flash 10.1 supposed to launch by June, it makes sense for them to launch the two at the same time.
Especially since Froyo is supposed to be the start of certain core apps being "add on" packs essentially, so that they can keep the system image smaller (hopefully means G1 support?) then the user just adds on what they want, ie you would download the Flash 10.1 app from the market. So it will be closer to a PC in its structure. I also think it is a sign that Apps to SD is on its way with Froyo or Gingerbread!

Not like I actually need this, It is just interesting to see what came come of it. I am extremely happy with the 2 roms im running now. Just to figure out which I like more now. Fresh Toast 2.1 or ZenEXP0.9.6

What comes of it is... 2.1 roms with ZERO bugs. Not even the audio bug.
I wonder if this is identical to the recent leak. I'm kinda hoping that we get the friendstream app or the updated sense running in Zen's ROM. I doubt that will happen. But at least we can have a stable ROM where everything will work off the bat.
Looking at the software versiom number, it's the same as the recent leaked version.

I actually love how Google is keeping the surprise element of Gingerbread intact without any real leaks. I hope they don't allow a single substantial leak until the day of ota updating since I HATE feeling like a crack addicted donkey following a dangling carrot
We better get used to less updates anyways and be happy with our N1's as is without needing updates to keep us happy. Andy himself was saying that Android will eventually be just a once a year update: http://www.androidguys.com/2010/06/01/andy-rubin-android-updates-year/

Fixed.
The line just got cut a few days ago, wait a week until they start testing the n1 branch for it to leak.
if i recall correctly the froyo rom leaks didnt start until after froyo was announced.
by that logic im fairly sure it will take a few weeks to leak (if google follows the same weird update pattern it did last time.)
im fairly sure the nexus one branch has been in development for a while now, because the OS is finalized on the nexus (feature set wise). after the announcement the major optimization is done, and thats usually why there are several leaked copies of slightly different semi-final builds.
I'm not gonna get into it again(I already did during froyo release), but the android line isn't developed FOR the n1, it's developed primarily WITH the n1.
There's nothing N1 specific when they are doing feature sets. The Google Phone team does have an early heads up, but so does Moto, and Samsung, and just about all the big boys in the OHA.

Quick question, so now that the Gingerbread SDK is released,,what does that mean? Do that mean that Devs will start making roms based off that or that the official Gingerbread 2.3 is right around the corner?
Any word on whether or not they decided to use that BlindType keyboard that they bought earlier?
I KNEW IT!! haha thank you

I'm not going to lie. I'm not impressed. Android's copy and paste icons look like something from about 10 years ago to me. I like HTC's version better.
And the updated ui does look a little better now that everything is black with green highlights. Still an ugly ui overall.
It just helps app developers get up to speed. People have tried to do roms from these but they come out very hacky at best. The source for 2.3 is needed for full roms. The is the sdk.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I suppose that HTC has it in development already so they can inlay Sense over top of this. Also, now all the Dev's can start developing their new Rom's with this base. Hopefully Flipz is still on top of his game! No telling how long it will be before Sprint is done with it. I would imagine they will hold up any official update for whatever they have to do. It's just a matter of time now.
I swear I've embedded videos on the forums here ...
Android 2.3 sure looks ugly. I guess I'll be making a theme that makes it look like Froyo.
it means devs can start making apps for it im i think , but knowing xda theyll do their thing and have roms out before the official release

Does anyone else notice that HTC might be moving to one rom for all the carriers? I found ATT, Tmobile, Verizon, and Sprint status bar logos in the stock 4.2.2 update. I think HTC is doing the right thing here. Put everything in one rom, then based on the CID, install certain things. I still think that att should leave the icons alone...but this is better than nothing.
I guess this also confirms the Verizon variant of the One. (I know verizon confirmed it this morning)
EDIT: BTWm this was from the stock 4.2.2 rom from Mike. Not the ARHD rom.

What I consider a junk ROM is nokia's symbian s60v3 ROMs. There are alot of junks in there like image of homer simpson, a corrupt image, bunch of hello world text files, an apple logo with a worm, quotations, a pdf for origami and other stuffs. This even got an article years ago in symbian-freak
