i was wondering if anyone have some tips on this issue
rather than using the volume and switch silent i wish if there's a software that uses the lock screen as a switch a tiny icon above the slide or something
i missed the iphone switch
I have no solid proof of what I am saying, yet I am afraid there is no way to do that, I mean accessing volume control while phone is locked (and I pretty mich would like there was, since proficiently using it as audio player requires that rocker buttons work even when locked, without waking up screen).
There are out there exe utilities that toggle from sound to vibration and vice-versa, but afaik not even S2U2 is able to let you run programs from the lock screen to achieve that.
And once you unlock, instead of clicking a shortcut, it's almost faster to just keep pressed one of the volume buttons to either silnce the phone or restore the ringtone.
I found the volume key works whilst my HD2 was locked via S2U2, unlike standard HD2 lock screen.
Very pleased I don't have to unlock my device first before I can press volume key to silence my phone.
10x guys
in conclusion the fastest way is via the volume button
how about we ask someone to take our idea and implement an icon button on the lockscreen it would be perfect
I find that the volume controls work while the phone is locked if I have a music player open and headphones plugged in.

uhm, strange, maybe it just works with the htc music player? It sure doesn't with mortplayer on vanilla lock screen...
You could use LMT and map a swipe gesture to silent mode.

How do you do that? I have LMT installed but so far only know how to launch apps via the learn gesture.

You can change the registry settings for LMT to point at specific programs or operations also.
I use an app called Tprofiler.
It turns on silent while im at school, and when im done it puts sounds on by its self.
Its all auto! how much faster can things get lol

Yeah, I had a quick look in HKLM\Software and couldn't find where to change settings?
there is a setting somewhere that lets you silence the phone by shaking/moving it - this is inbuilt AFAIK so it should be available in all Roms.
Phone rings while i'm busy, all i do is jiggle my leg (as my phone is always in my pocket) phone silences. No worries, no 3rd party software to slow the phone down

this is already implemented within the phone , while ringing if you moved the phone, automatically the sound will decrease 80 % but to 100 % i doubt about it, but if you know any solution about it would be cool

You are correct. If you actually turn your phone over it also silences it 100%

Maybe later if people really like it and the project continues it could be
a user setting environment
Work great, just one thing : could be great if the app auto unlock when the phone receive a call (coz the diamond have a nice "slide to answer") and re-lock after the call...

...but the main idea is to prevent users from pressing accidentally the answer/ignore button when an incoming call arrived!
Anyway various ideas comes in mind for new versions
Yes, I know, but it is also very usefull for *just* lock the phone : I play a game, I read my mail, or anything, then I just turn off the phone and *hop* it's locked.
I don't worry if a reminder occur, if the on/off button is push accidentaly, or anything else, because I know that the phone is lock until I do a 45% vertical slide
And cherry on the cake, when I ask myself "what time is it ?", I just have to push a button (otherwise, I need to back to home screen with TF3D)
So if you plan to add a user config system to your app, please put a little "manage incomming call ?" box
getting better and better. after a few days i got unsatisfied with all the oter lock apps. but this is killer.
ps. is there a way to auto unlock for incoming calls? in most of the roms there is the phone canvas slider. that would do the job in that case, too.

Can't see a reason why...
Have you install the .NET Compact Framework 3.5 ?
Try a soft reset and execute it again!
i reinstalled netcf and now it works great. thanks.
installed it, runs very nice but unfortunately it makes the reminder and the alarm unusuable when an alarm comes up, the lock screen appears like it should. when you unlock, the message of the alarm or reminder is gone and you have to tap on the top-line icon to get it back also the funktion to let the alarms sound even in vibrate or silence mode won't work no mor... the device only vibrates.....

The last part has nothing to do with the LmL. Maybe some other setting to try ?!?
This is simply fantastic.
I too would like to be able to answer the phone without unlocking it. I would be quite happy with just using the hardware keys on the Diamond which seem to be locked for an incoming call.
Personally, I dont need or want other options - its simplicity is perfect. Something small and light.
perhaps its possible to implement the ability to assign some exceptions for lockmelite, i.e. that it should not lock normal homescreen (when you turn on the device consciously you don't need to have it locked i guess) or even for an upcoming alarm... THEN it really would be a perfect app!
New Release
version 1.2 released!
Enjoy
Hey man, great job!!! I love it
Now we just need an autostart function, hehe
Hello!
GSuspend simple tool which put device to suspend (standby) mode when HTC Diamand is facedown.
To unload start it again.
To install , just extract folder to Program Files, and copy .lnk to Windows\Start Menu\Programs.
After new ROM has issued, GSEN stop worked stabily, and i started to search my favourity ability of gsen - facedown suspend. But i can't find replacement of GSEN in this ability.
Finally fight win my desire against my laziness and done this application.
In the base of this app was SensorLock thanks surfsmurf.
I hope somebody also find it usefull.
Thanks
P.S. Improved power management.
Still looking sample to catch event of incoming call, if somebody can share C++
Tnx, I'll try it right now!
[EDIT] Works perfect! Very small and light application btw.
One thing I noticed; my phone is not locked with PocketShield after turning back on.
Thanks

Thank you for what must've cost you time & valued effort.
Is it possible for you to modify this in a way that it would automatically Silence the device when facedown, and back to normal volume settings on all other positions? I find it VERY useful to have that -instead of having to turn it face up & down everytime a call comes in". Everybody else apparently misses the point that a phone vibrating on wooden desks is just as terribley impolite as having it spitting jams left & right.
Do consider it...
changeScreen has a feature built into it that can suspend the phone when it's flipped face down

thats exactly what I want
but I think "upside down" or "Portrait 180" is more reliable for this job
and a small vibrate in the hand to confirm the suspend is good too
1KB MEM . . . thats awesome
thanks,
Sorry , i noticed battery drain, will work on that , sorry
is this app only turn off scren on face down or it is suspend device, because changescreen only tunr off screen??
"upside down" or "Portrait 180" excellent idea
but i dont need vibrate(i hate it)
I'm a little confused now . I'm reading about an app that turns the device on silent when faced down. This is what I'm looking for, so I can easily mute during a meeting. Vibrate on 'siwtch' is also perfectly. But my confusion is: which app do I need (or doe'sn't it exist for now )

If you receive a call during a meeting, the function to turn your phone face-down to mute the call is already build in. (maybe you have to activate it using Advanced Configuration)
GSuspend it a tool to put your device in standby on face-down.

TouchLockPro can do the same (configurable), is also small and is at the same time a lock/unlock program. Beside the GSensor, it also can couple commands to capacitive swipes, e.g. to suspend the device.

The 'turn-to-mute' function is working oké, but what I'm looking for is an app that turns my device on 'silent' when my device ís faceddown and 'normal' faced-up. So when I'm in a meeting I don't have to switch profile or flip my phone

Right on, +1 here. In meetings, if you're unprepared, you'd have to flip over & over & over, etc..., everytime you get a call. It gets irritating until you actually start pushing buttons and adjusting it manually...
If you have that meeting scheduled in your calendar, you could try G-Profile for example.
Based on your calendar, G-Profile can adjust your notification settings.

very powerfull and customized tool, it can do what you want.... but don't know if it drain battery a lot or not.

I feel your pain. I had S2U2 working almost perfectly on the Ozone, but reminders (Outlook Calendar sync) did not work correctly. The reminder chime would start then end abruptly and I'd never see the onscreen reminder. Only way for me to dismiss my reminder was to disable S2U2 and wait for the next reminder to pop up. Calendar and E-mail are my two must haves on the phone so I had no choice but to uninstall it. Bummer really.
Ironically, was was looking around tonight for an alternative and ran across this post. If I find anything that works, I'll let you know. But if you don't really care about reminders, I highly recommend S2U2.
It is for touch screen only, but use mymobiler (our mouse emulator) to configure. Then you are good to go. Be sure to disable advanced power options.

Did you read my whole post? I said it worked on the Ozone except for the reminders. You are obviously not going to be able to use the touch screen. That's why you have to use MyMobiler to configure.
Just use D-Pad right to unlock.

Hi,
I noted with interest when going into the Ringtones etc config section via the HTC Settings interface there are a number of profiles defined. This is something of interest to me as I miss these from my Nokia days (one for at work when I want subtle, one for in the car when I want loud etc).
Is there a quick way to then get to (ie. switch between) these profiles once configured that anyone has found?
Thanks in advance.
Yeah i was about to post the same thing, how annoying....
Yeah, you could just click the volum rocker and choose between Silent, Vibrate or change the volue of ringer or system to suite your mood it is very handy and quick.
G-profile is a good solution ...

darn, ok
i guess i just have to consider G-profile then, anyone knows any free version of G-profile?
I definitely propose CommMgrPro (also in this forum - use search).
The skin work is bad (but you can make something nicer yourself if you like), but the function is perfect. After all the developer owns an HD2.
He soon plans on a GUI update, but as I said in terms of functionality, it is unbeatable.
I recently updated to 2.3.5 from 2.2 and the unlock has changed. Before, the unlock screen had 2 options. Slide to unlock and slide to turn the sound off. Now it has 4 options, none of which is to turn the sound off which is the one I really need the most. I can't find any way to change this w/o installing a 3rd party app (which I'd like to avoid if at all possible). Does anyone know how to modify the unlock screen?
Thanks

Why do you have to change that on the lockscreen? Can't you just unlock it, and use the volume-down button?
Unlock screen
If I only needed to do it once a day, that would be fine but I am constantly going in and out of meetings and a single swipe is much more convenient than what you mention. I did do the following in the meantime (for anyone that cares)
1. added a shortcut to the volume settings on my home screen so I just go into that and silence the phone
2. I installed ZDbox which has an option to schedule the phone to go silent at certain times of the day/week. Pretty nice.
Would like to know in general, though, if the unlock screen can be changed.
Thanks.
