Hi!
Manila: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM: 1.66.407.1 GER
Is it possible to use Manila 2.5.2012 without flashing a new ROM? I'd like to use the GTX Sense 2.5 Theme (Sorry, I can't post the link due to the new user restrictions...) and furthermore I have some apps installed I don't want to miss (most important ones: Touch X Faster manila tweaks, Co0kie's Home Tab etc).
The problem is that Co0kie's Home Tab only works with GTX Sense 2.5.2012 release so I want to know if it is possible just to update Manila without the ROM.
Thanks and greetz!
I don't think manila can be upgraded without flashing a new rom.
Have a look at the Rom Development section, there are tutorials and plenty of custom roms!!
Goodluck!
Many thanks for the quick response, I'll have a look there. Maybe I'll try to cook one by myself too )

As far I know, its not possible, and the version needs to be cooked into the ROM.
how can i change my rom?? what advantages/disadvantages..?
and what forum should i actually be asking this?
Flash
Flash the beauties of Manila 2.5 available on TP2 ROM Forum
I'm using Energy ROM Manila 2.5 dated 12.09.09, it smooth
If i'm not wrong there was a rom with manila 2.6 or 3.0 (not sure). The rom has a rotatable nice home screen.
I can not find it now. Can anybody help me?
Hi opensea!
udk had posted the R2 Rom which has manila 2.6 included.
I only know 2.5 and 2.6 manila Roms. (noting newer)
If you can cook, you can download manila files from HTC Leo roms or
http://www.everythingdiamond.info/
there I found also the 2.6 files.
But don't ask me how to cook it in a rom, because I'm also treing to get that files work with the latest rom/sys builds. (I'm a stupid cooker )
Each Manila ROM has a rotatable homescreen
Thanks sandman01 and emx_o.
@emx_o: I'm currently using dutty's R4 but i cannot make the home tab landscape.
yeah you need to activate this option. there are tools like manila rotate or sth
Hi all
I am running the stock ROM on my HD2 but would really like to get the eReader Manila page - can this be added by an upgrade or do I need to flash a ROM with that version of Manila on....
If I am to take the flashing plunge, and put on something like 'Lost In Asia V 0.8.5' or some other lite ROM without Manila, will that mean I can Install Manila from a .CAB file, and therefore upgrade it at a later date without needing to flash the ROM? - and is Manila even available as a .CAB file or some such - I did have a look around but couldn't see anyone hosting one??
And finally, what's the difference between Manila and Sense? I thought Manila was just the Manila Page app, and Sense was the input device swishy finger software??? but often I see references to these two in other contexts...
manila and sense are interchangeable names for the htc front end.
No you cant install manila as a cab, it is cooked into the rom pretty deeply.
(unless i've missed something? anyone?)
I personally don't mind the appearance of the HD2 as it is atm. I have CHTE and Cookies Mod so happy enough. My HD2 does however slow down and freeze a bit atm. So all in all I'm looking for a ROM that keeps the general appearance the same, retains as much functionality as possible but improves the stability and speed of my HD2. I've had a quick look over the ROMs available here but must admit I'm new and would really appreciate some advice as to which one to go for.
Here are my current specs,
OS - 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila - 2.5.19211619
ROM - 1.66.405.2 (76641) WWE
ROM Date - (01/11/10)
Radio - 2.07.51.22_2
Protocol - 15.32.50.07U
Thanks
Artemis
I'm using Artemis V9.0 and I'm very happy about it. The philosophy of the ROM is "stock rom Philosophy" with additionnal functions, best drivers and stuffs available. The cooker Mr Sternas is following the Rom's thread daily and looks very "pro"
I think I might have looked at this one. I did like it but didn't it have the start buttonmoved to the bottom?
Yes but it's not a mod, it's the way the latest Windows Mobile build are...

Try Energy ROM with cooked in Cookie home tab and GTX Sense themed. It's a completely customized ROM... And don't forget to install chainfire's HD2 3D driver patch, it really makes HTC Sense faster
Oh is it. That's a shame. I lie t up top and out of the way
And perform Task 29 before flashing. It's prettty useful
Damn, I haven't a clue what I am doing. Some fun reading to do!
Task 29 + Artemis V.9 is the best of the best rom... very stable !!
I want the latest version of everything that is default
Manila

Current versions
Manila: 2.5.20121412.2
ROM: 2.13.531.1 (90963) WWE
Radio: 2.10.50.26
What I really want to do is install "Max Manila 2.5 Ultimate" but I don't have right Manila version. Basically, I'm confused about everything.
Calm down!!! Most people started like that.
It will not be the last time you see this but the search function is your friend. Everything you could ever need to know is on here.
Also read the rules before you get a roasting, you've already posted a similar thread to this that i was replying on.
Finally take a look at Co0kie's Home Tab instead of Max Manila, i used to use mm but now on CHT, it works much better. There are loads of rom's with CHT cooked in, and also plenty of "clean" roms. I alway start with the most popular or the chef's that have been around the longest.
Now best to go back to the wiki and the stickys on the HD2 forums.
