Way to rotate manila to landscape? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

I'm getting mixed results from searches. nothing solid for touch pro 2. i know i have had roms that rotate with the accelerometer. is there a cab or registry fix for this feature?

try changescreen ... i've been using it to rotate screens and it works great on the tilt2

HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName
create a string called Manila with value of \windows\manila.exe
and
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
create a string called Manila with value of Manila
i do this everytime i install a rom so i know it works.

Thanks apax and Jack of Clubs

The Jack of Club's suggestion will make the g-sensor work in manila natively (the reg edit just tells it that manila is one of the things it should report to). There's at least one cab floating around that does the same thing, but doing it manually that way would be just as quick as downloading and running that.
However, after I used that method, I found that it would rotate at times I didn't want to, and it wasn't something that any sensitivity adjustment seemed to correct. So, now I've just used Rhodium Keyboard Controller to map screen rotation to a long press of one of the front hardware buttons ("back", in my case)...that way, it's just an easy button-press away, and it never rotates when I don't want it to.

yeah i have found that it doesnt always want to switch to landscape. i found that the start menu wont rotate if manila wont. so i figured adding the start menu will encourage manila to rotate more responsively. it might be placebo but you can try. i added it using bsb g-config and this is the registy entry it added:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
create a string called Start with value of MSSTARTMENU
and this is the entry that was added for the today screen:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
create a string called Desktop with value of DesktopExplorerWindow
you can try. it doesnt hurt anything to add them.

Shortcut to Screen Rotate?

Hey All:
I'd like to create a shortcut to the Screen Rotate function for when I want to use my GPS software in Landscape mode.
You know - something shorter than doing a START > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > SCREEN.
Thoughts? Can't seem to find what controls it.
I know there is a rotation shortcut in the HTC Homeplug today screen addin - but I don't want to use that otherwise and just want to pop a shortcut into iLauncher.
You can go to button settings and assign a hard button to the rotate screen function.
Of course this assumes you are willing to give up a hard button... not sure if you are from reading your post.
Have you looked at Resco Explorer? I know Resco Explorer allows you to create start menu shortcuts. Maybe you can just create a shortcut of the Rotate screen exe.
You can try AE Button Plus. It allows you to map virtually any program or function to a hard button. And you can map several things to one button because you can map to single, double, triple, and long press. I have it set to double pressing the left soft key will switch to landscape mode.
Any chance anyone knows the file for rotating the screen? Funny enough it's not named rotatescreen.exe.
For now, I used iLauncher which has a rotate screen function and assigned it to an icon on my desktop.... but it seems crazy to me no one knows where to find the file or command that does this
Ok, I'll have to give iLauncher a look. It's funny because there is a screen rotate function in the HTC Home plugin I'm using, but it rotates the screen the opposite direction that I want on my Mogul. I'll have to keep looking.
Registry Change
I have been looking to do the same thing for some time now. i found that it's a registry value so my thinking is that it must be possible to create a script or app that can change this value but i have yet to find one.
the reg key and values are:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\ROTATION]
Change the Value of "Angle" to the
dword:00000000 or dword:00000360 -> Portrait Mode
dword:00000090 -> Landscape(Right-Handed)
dword:00000180 -> Portrait Up-side Down
dword:00000270 -> Landscape (Left-Handed)
hopefully someone can come up with something from this. I'm using a touch btw but i think the reg values should be universal.
ok i found an app that will do it!!! see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=230981
it works great on my touch with WM6
for anyone interested i have since made a mortscript that will switch to and fro a little faster than rotateSE if someone wants it i can post it here.
This would be a good place for that, post away!

for anyone who was looking for my screenrotate mortscript sorry for the delay in posting it. it will be posted tonight. i have been very busy/tired of late but tonight is the night. anyone who does not have mortscript can get it here MortScript
here it is. i assumed that mortscript would be installed in \program files
place the script file anywhere on your device. See Previous post for link to get mortscript.
Try this small program, just execute in device then it will rotate. no installation required.

Switching home screen or shortcuts to disable touchflo3D

I've been searching for a way to switch from normal Windows plugin and touchflo3D.
I've tried Second Today, but seems the touchflo3d can not be set on the 2nd today.
Since the Second Today are missing calendar, task, etc.. which I must need.
Is there other ways I can switch between noraml windows plugin and touchflo3D ?
Thanks all
What exactly do you expect?
You can easily (de)activiate TouchFlo3D by going to "Start->System->Today->Items".
Is there any program which I can one push which I can switch from using Touchflo3D and normal Windows plugin ?
The touchflo3D is missing "task", calendar event late shown, etc..
I use that to follow up my daily work.
I have to tick, tick tick all those boxes everytime I switches.
As this is just controlled by a simple registry value, you could easily write a mortscript.
wolfs44 has written something that "kills" Touchflo by starting iGO8, so maybe you could slightly adapt it.
wolfs44 said:
It kills Touchflo before starting iGO8, starts also POIObserver and Bluetooth (for my GNS-Traffic-Box) and rotates to Landscape.
After iGO is closed, re-launch Touchflo, POIObserver and Bluetooth are again disabled and rotate back to Portrait.

The part you should be interested to is the following
Code:
RegWriteDword ("HKLM","Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\TouchFLO 3D","Enabled",0)
RedrawToday
To re-enable it, you just have to do the following
Code:
RegWriteDword ("HKLM","Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\TouchFLO 3D","Enabled",1)
RedrawToday
Making a "full" mortscript out of it, shouldn't be a problem at all.
is mortscript something like a patch file ?
Do you have that file on hand ?
Thanks.

Right & left SoftKeys can be changed using CERegedit while synced to PC, or PHM Regedit directly on your phone.
The keys in question can be found here:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila
I have mapped
HomeLSKPath to \Windows\tasks.exe
with a corresponding link name at
HomeLSKText of Tasks
There are ways to map to other Manila shortcuts like All People.

Once settling on what I wanted, I have made a little cab from this site:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=435140
So now everytime I flash, I just run this cab to change the registry so I get my preferred home page links back.
There is a limit to what can be customised.
In Settings, I couldn't find a way to change LSK All Settings from connection settup to actual settings. Dutty did it in one of his ROMs.
thnx guys...that works
thats it, cool !! thanx a lot. I switched the left homekey on my TP2 in Bxsteez ROM from phone to all contacts. Much better Who needs a "Phone soft button" ??

Hi Xaddict,
Great stuff, I want to change the LSK to DeviceLock. Changing the text was obviously no problem, but do you perhaps know the path?
I tried what I got from total commander as path: \windows\VJDeviceLock.exe, but that doesnt really work..
Thanks,

[REF] Rotating apps using registry and finding classes

Hi All,
I have written this little tutorial by piecing togethor bits of info from other forums and threads. Some of you will probably know this already but this is for those who are struggling:
To get the g sensor rotating any application that doesnt do so already you will need to edit the registry on your device.
Using your preferred registry editor navigate to:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName
Here you must create a new string value. The name of your string is whatever you want it to be. The value of your string would be the path to the exe of the program you wish to rotate.
Once this is done you must then navigate to:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
Here you must again create a new string value.
The name again is whatever you want it to be... the value would be the class name of the application you are attempting to rotate.
For example.... to get excel rotating with the G sensor:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName
Create new string value... i named it Excel Mobile. Value is:
windows\pxl.exe
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
Create new string value... again i named it Excel Mobile. Value is:
BOOKWIN
Create second new string value... i named it Excel Mobile2. Value is:
PXLMainWnd
Exit your registry editor and soft reset the device. Job done. Excel will now rotate within the open file browser (PXLMainWnd) and also within any open workbook (BOOKWIN)
For any particular app you should be able to figure out what the full path is to your exe but to get class names use dotfreds task manager:
http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
Once the task manager is installed.... start your app... then start the task manger... go to applications tab and long press on your app which will be listed if it is still running... select details. Go to the windows tab... this screen will list all of the classes currently accessed by your app. Ususally the ones to add into the whitelist will be the ones that are preceded by the app name but not always.
To get you guys started here are the settings for word:
windows\pword.exe
and you need to add two classes to the white list:
WordPad
Pocket Word
Remember that class names are case sensitive.
disclaimer: I TAKE NO RESBONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE TO ANYONES DEVICE BY POSTING THIS QUICK TUTORIAL. YOU CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE IF YOU EDIT THE REGISTRY INCORRECTLY... IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING LEAVE IT WELL ALONE!!!!
bump cos ive changed the title!
can you find the modulename/whitelist for the messaging (SMS/MMS) tab? It's the only one I have trouble rotating.

thank you, and take your time =) btw, I just wanna be clear that I didn't mean the messaging tab on the home/sense screen, I meant the default win6.5 screen.
Thanks for this post, I am trying to find the details for a new app called DynaInk. I've followed your instructions and I am about to see if it worked?
*** Drum Roll ***
It worked, I used #NETCF_AGL_BASE_
Thank You
I applied this trick for Notepad which is a simple text editor that doesn't even require installation:
http://www.shamasis.net/projects/notepad-mobile/
After installing Dotfred's Task manager it showed me several string values for Notepad.exe and one of them was same as Nighthawk's DynaInk: #NETCF_AGL_BASE_ so I added it for my Notepad.exe.
Now it rotates with G-sensor
Thank you, Audio Oblivion for this guide!
p.s. What kind of damage to the device could possibly be done by adding those strings with those values? One could delete them if there's no result ?!?
Great post, works very well except for 1 program.
Perhaps you can help me out with the class name of TomeRaider3.
Program is TomeRaider3AU.exe, but for the Whitelist entry I always get different ClassNames when I start it as just like: "Afx:83ab6eaa:0, next time I get Afx:d54d7832:0, and so on.
Can anyone please help me out with this ?
many thanx in advance
Edit: Found the solution. I have added a ModuleName Wikipedia with Value "\Programme\TomeRaider3\Wikipedia.tr3 and a Whitelist entry for Wikipedia called "Dialog", for the Whitelist entry of TomeRaider I also used "Dialog", now it works very well.

I launched the default wnimo messaging screen and saw a process called tmail.exe appear.
search for tmail.exe on you device and use its full path as the module name. its probably windows\tmail.exe
for class entry in whitelist try: Dialog
If thats not it then start messaging, lauch dotfreds task manager, long key press on tmail.exe... click on windows and try every class you see!
I have now found that gyrator works quite well if you want EVERY screen on your device to rotate with the acceleromter... however... even though it is set to rotate everything... not all windows work. I still had to add in certain aspects of SPB shell to the whitelist for instance. Also... HTC Sense homescreen doesnt like being rotated.

You wont damage your device if you follow my instructions carefully. The values you are changing are safe to add, delete and edit at any time (although dont touch what is already in the registry before you started adding to it). The discalimer is there in case someone messes up their registry by doing something incorrectly!
What about the programs that have the same Class name eg. "Dialog".
As i noticed it's enough to add process name to ModuleName or Class Name to WhiteList. No need to put both.
Better to use ModuleName if you have several applications that both have eg "Dialog" but one of them you do not want to rotate.
Eg. Nimbuzz - Dialog, HTC phone app - also Dialog. I do not want to rotate Phone So for me works only the ModuleName for the Nimbuzz.
For other apss I only include data to whitelist In fact there is two lists - by process name and by Window class...
Is there a similar way to enable the "Pinch to Zoom" feature for programs by just adding the programm to some registry entries?
TomTom
This is great
added TT7 = MunichWinClass to the white list.. now I can use TomTom in landscape
Thank you for this information.
I've done 3 programs;
Resco Explorer 2008
ModuleName
\Program Files\Resco Explorer\Explorer.exe
WhiteList
RESCO_EXPLORER_CLASS
and
Palm Digital Media eReader for windows mobile
ModuleName
\Program Files\Peanut Press\eReader.exe
WhiteList
PalmDigitalMediaWin
IME
and
1-Calc
ModuleName
\Program Files\OmegaOne\1-Calc\1-Calc.exe
WhiteList
Dialog
I can't take responsibility if these changes don't work for someone or if they brick their device.
Google maps, OziExplorer, File Explorer & Garmin
Thanks for the detailed info
ModuleName
"GMaps"="\Program Files\GoogleMaps\GoogleMaps.exe"
"Ozi"="\Storage Card\OziExplorer 2\OziExplorerCE.exe"
"FileMan"="\Windows\fexplore.exe"
"Garmin"="\Storage Card\Garmin\Apps\WM\QuePPC.exe"
WhiteList
"GMaps"="GoogleMapsMobile"
"Ozi"="OziExplorer"
"FileMan"="FEXPLORE"
"Garmin"="QUE_SUBAPP_WND_CLASS"
Thanks for this have done tomtom too. Perfect!!
Edit: Could anyone put this in a cab for me please?
Dir of .exe = \Storage Card\Program Files\TomTom Navigator.exe
Value = MunichWinClass
Not working
Hi all,
I have tried to apply this procedure but my applications still do not rotate.
I have tried both modifying the registry by hand, and using BsB Tweaks to rotate Excel but with no success. Any suggestions to share?
EDIT: I have tried disabling and re-enabling the Rotate feature (AutoRotation -> 0 -> 1), resetting the phone after each change, and now NO APPLICATION will rotate: not even HTC messaging nor the Sense Pictures tab.
HELP!!!!
EDIT 2: Solved! I've just found out by pure chance that rotating works only counterclockwise, while I assumed it should work both ways!

Rotate screen possible without slideout ?

Hello everyone,
i've been trying several roms since few days.. and love them all
appreciate all the work you guys do, but i have this one little thing that i wish i had.
Why do i need to use the keyboard to go to landscape? is there no other option?
(i cant seem to find it..)
So i would like my screen to always rotate in every app when i rotate the phone.. (g-sensor rotate is on, but hardly ever works auto) OR have a key or app that i can use that overrules the sensor and just let me choose landscape mode.
Because the auto rotate doesnt seem to do that for most programs untill you slide the keyboard out. but i dont need my keyboard...
examples: i like tomtom in landscape, but not with the keyboard slide out!
(that way it wont fit in my carkit..)
and i want to be able to rotate a movie or tekst message whenever i want to..
etc etc.. (with the g-sensor OR some key or APP or something else)
or is the answer: its impossible? can hardly believe that, because it seems so easy to do.
thanks for any help
Search for ChangeScreen or G-Config.
Or set Send Key to rotate manually:
HKLM/System/GDI/Rotation change the "HideOrientationUI" from 1 to 0
Now you van remap the Send Key to do this on long press. [FONT=&quot][/FONT]
use this cab to rotate TF3d with out the keyboard
than use the g config app to add other programs to the rotate list, once you add the cab or any program using g config you have to soft reset for them to work
edit i have tom tom and adding it to g config app work great in landscape
very very nice
works like a charm with not much lag.
thank you.
just to let you know what i found as my final solution (for now) after lots of trying different roms:
i read somewhere here, (cant find it anymore) about setting the hardware "back" key to rotate screen on double click...
so no auto rotating anymore, only when i want to, with this tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554240
Together with the ROM:
Phoenix 2 Sense 2.1 EnergyROM_28011_RHODIUM_07.Dec.2009_Standard.rar
it all works like a charm.. manila rotates very quick and everything else.
rom has start button on bottom and standard 4 columns in programs, nice agenda in landscape, yes i like this one
coreplayer works good.. no accidental rotates etc
i can just lay in bed and watch my favorite movie without troubles.
tomtom in widescreen in my car etc etc
thank you all for this superb forum
Try these Registry Settings
1. HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila -> add a new String Value with the name "EnableLandscape" and the value "true" (both without "")
2. HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName -> add a new String Value with the name "TF3D" and the value "\Windows\manila.exe" (both without "")
3. HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList -> add a new String Value: Name: "TF3D Value: "Manila" (both without "")
4. Change HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila DisableRotation value to 0 from 1.
5. Softreset
Search for flip_IT, found it in topaz forum, burried somewhere. It works awesome with WM6.5.x builds.
i used this clever little addin and made a shortcut in start menu n quicklaunch panel enjoy !
but as i found some programs will no look right when used in landscape mode.
