Any way to disable/lock the four buttons? - Nexus One General

Hey all,
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere - I tried searching but it's a bit of a difficult one to put into a search query.
I was playing Replica Island the other day and kept hitting the "home" button by accident while using the trackball to move around. Is there any application that would let me temporarily disable the four buttons on the N1 to stop me doing that when I'm playing a game?
Thanks in advance!

Using 5-way navigation button instead of the stylus ???

Hi,
I am sorry if the question was covered before. I tried to search but couldn't find it.
I am wondering if there is a 3rd party software which allows to use the 5-way navigation button of the phone as a mouse? I try to avoid using the stylus as much as possible.
Many thanks!
I guess this is what you are looking for.
Thanks ady.
It is what I am looking for.
tnx 4 bringing this up svkhtn & tnx 4 posting that app ady. ill try it in awhile.
It's a shame that the call/reject keys cannot not be mapped to their orignal functions.
Hmmm I usually map it to the backlight hardkey by using PQZ. One time press and the cursor comes, second press and it goes away. Pretty handy if you ask me.

Yes, I also thought of assigning it to a hardkey; although, I am using it on the Imate Jam so not many available keys left

How many mappable buttons on the 8525?

Hi all...
I apologize if this has been asked already but I don't have time to search (gotta run to work)...
How many mappable buttons are there? I got mine the other day and through Buttons, I only see four. The 8125 had like 6 or so (being able to re-map the softkeys/corresponding hardkeys). Did they disable this on purpose for the 8525?
Anyway, I grabbed that PTT button fix so I'm going to use that, I was just wondering about the other buttons (without having to use a 3rd party fix/app).
TIA!

Need some help turning off a hotkey, anyway to do it? :)

Well, I'm searching around and I give up, time to ask the "Pros".
I have a 8125 and the only thing I dont like or cant fix, HOW do I turn off the align screen HOTKEY. When i'm playing a game and using the "control pad" (the outside pad with the button in the middle) I will be getting heavy hitting buttons and soon as I hit the "Message" key with that Center button...
BOOM!!!! "Align Screen" comes up and I have to align the screen and continue the game. As for remapping the buttons in the game, I could do this but prefer the 2 i'm using.
Anyone who can give me a quick fix for this...You got me beat.
Thanks for the read, and thanks for this great site.
Jay
P.S. I'm using Faria's Rom Crossbow reloaded 1.5 by Mfrazz.
Could be a BUG in the ROM or even in the GAME PROGRAMMING.
I use the D pad all the time to play games but never got the ALIGN SCREEN ... !
Does it happen only in a particular game or in general?
no it can be done anytime
if you hold down the d pad center button and hit the outside corner key with the envelope mail logo...you will pull up the align screen. its a hotkey setup..no bug I just want to remap this or get rid of it all together.
stil nothin?
bah was hoping someone would have an answer for this....still trying to find out how. anyone?

Patience....it can take some time to get an answer, and you will win no friends by posting things like this. Also, there are MANY threads similar to this already.
I do not think it is possible to have the volume keys do one thing (track change) when the screen is off and another (volume) when the screen is on, but cannot say for sure.
That being said, something like what you are asking is possible. You can use a button mapping program like AE Buttons Plus (free, google it) to map a long press of your volume buttons to up/down arrows, and this will change tracks when screen is off. You can map single press of these buttons to volume up/down. Or you could do the reverse (single press change track, long press volume). Either way, the keys will always control volume in call.
I recommend messing around with various combinations until you get what you want. Also, try a search and see what others have done.
sry for that, wasnt meant to offend anyone!!! =/
and Thanks for that tip!
//EDIT
i just tried it now and it does work!
Hi
I am not entirely sure, but if you use S2U2 to lock your HD the volume keys will automaticely work as you wanted them to be as soon as you start your TF3D player and let the focus on it in TF3D. So in other words just start the player and lock the screen. Ready to go .
Hope you understand what I tried to explain. Best is, if you try it for yourself. Just search in the forum for the program S2U2.

No problem Just thought I'd let you know since you appear to be new. Good luck!
I have this function. I have slide to lock and AEBplue installed.
AEBplus I have set single click as arrow down and up and double click as volumn.
When it is on the music screen, one click of the volumn lets me scroll up or down when the screen is off...

Hai, just a simple question but I need it so bad.
When my phone rings and I get it out of my pocket I almost always pick it up to early by pressing the left (Awnser) button or rejecting it by pressing the right (ignore/hangup) button.
Is there any way to disable these buttons?
I know, the right button is usefull for stndby but I can miss it. (Phone sleeps in a couple of sec when lock is on)
Is there any way to disable these buttons?
Thanks guys!
(PS, the rest of the Leo I really love!)
Kind Regards, Diq

Yes there is, but I'm at work so I can't provide a cab. A search should find it for you though. I think InCallSettings might do it, but don't quote me on that.
Thanks, I've found it. (Didn't know the search criteria!)
Thanks Again!
