i wonder why it stopped at four, though. after the fourth, all messages stopped being saved to the sim and it hasn't happened since. i haven't changed anything so i'm terribly confused!

So far, what I can suggest is for you guys to load the SIM card into any 3G/HSDPA modem client. This client will show the SMS contents in the SIM card. You can then delete them from this client.

what is 3G/HSDPA modem client?

bump this up, still need help!

anyone? anyone at all?

happened to me on AT&T when we went to DST a few months back. I don't even have a clue on how to save SMS with the HTC messaging client let alone how to delete it. After a few days the messages would disappear complete and all order has been restored.

I'm having the same problem man..I even called t-mobile "htc hd2 experts", but all they did is the same thing as what everyone else on this topic is doing lol...

I have the same problem here :-(

I have a message saved on my sim card that I can't delete either. It's annoying. Anyone found a solution to this? Is there a way to browse the sim from the file explorer?

bump. also have this problem

I try to found a solution, but I just has been reading about delete them from a SIM Card USB reader :-(

you gotta transfer your sim card to a different phone and delete the msgs there. thats what i did and it worked. I used a sony ericcson k800 phone to do it. Im not sure if theres a certain phone to transfer to but im guessing a non HD2 phone? haha

Finally I can delete the messages. I put my SIM Card in other phone (BlackBerry) and delete the SMS from there and put back the SIM Card on my HTC HD2 and the messages was deleted!

bump
Same problem here. I can 'get around' it by putting the SIM card into another phone, but that is unacceptable as a long-term workaround. Some messages are delivered straight to the SIM, and having to swap the card once a week or more is not making me happy with the device.
Is there a 3rd parry software package that allows one to delete sms messages from the SIM?

Disable SMS copy to SIM
::bump::
Can we work on a patch to disable SMS copy to SIM?
That way when its accidentally copied we don't have to pull out the SIM to delete it on another device.

hey everyone, I've been lurking for quite some time now. Finally have something noteworthy to share. I had the same problem with SMS saved to my SIM...just go to your SIM manager...copy your SIM contacts onto your device...then delete the contacts left on your SIM. I then used PIM backup to store my contacts onto my SD card...just in case my phone goes to sh!t.

Same problem. Reported it to Tmo
They dont know balls.
I tried everything. Put Sim in another phone tried deleting the message but wouldnt work.
Even ordered a new sim card. Lasted about two weeks before the phantom voicemail/129 text started popping up again.
Text from 129 its part of the HD2 on TMO, accept it.

[Q]TF3D shows messages that don't exist ?

Hi,
Sorry if this has been posted before; I couldn't find the answer...
I had some text messages on my SIM in the 'drafts' folder and they showed up on the TF3D messages screen. I deleted them from within the TF3D interface, but when I restart my HD the drafts reapear. I can't find them from in the WinMo messages part and when I punt my SIM in an other device, the drafts are gone too.
This means (I guess) that they are cached somewhere by TF3D, but I can't seem to find something to help me.
Greets!
LOL finally somebody who has the same problem as me. I took a sim card from my Blackberry to my Touch Diamond, which had that problem, then my HD, which has the same problem with the same 3 messages.
It's messages with only numbers in them...
They return on soft reset because winmo won't really delete them, only their representation on the phone memory for some stupid reason.
They are stored in your SIM card. Delete all messages from your SIM card using the old phone you used, then re insert in your HD.
That should do the trick.
I already tried that and the (old) phone couldn't find my messages. Since it worked for you, I retried with another old phone and that one did show the messages and I was able to delete them. Thanks!

SIM Card is full message

I have a new Touch HD. I have started to regularly get a message on soft reset saying that the sim card is full, and I won't be able to receive any text messages unless I delete some. The Sim card is patently not full as I can still receive text messages, and there are only a handful of text messages actually on the sim.
I tried looking for some setting to send the SMS to phone instead of SIM but couldn't find anything.
A search on the internet seems to indicate that this is not restricted to the touch HD, but also affects other WM 6.1 devices.
Can anyone help me get rid of this message?
Please help. This continues to pop up everytime I soft reset my phone.

I had exactly the same problem on my HD using a Silvercard with two phone numbers inside.
I solved it with a simcard reader and a simcard editor software.
I found 25 blank SMS in the draft folder (very strange).
After deleting all the blank messages the problem disappeared.
regards, Gianni
I thought that the outlook connector on the WM devices could access the messages on the SIM and remove them but I'm apparently wrong. I've got the same message popping up and the same 10 messages keep reappearing in my phones inbox every time I reboot.
Unfortunately I don't have SIM editor device / software... My only thought so-far is to put the SIM in an old nokia and delete the messages with that... now can I find an old nokia and persuade it to take a charge, that it the question...

annoying "129 (1)" text message keeps recurring...

i keep getting this blank text message which has what looks like either my sim or storage card icon next to it. the contact or sender is "129(1)".i dont know if i am missing texts or if this is some weird glitch.
anyone know what this is?
ive attached a screenshot of my messages so you can see.
thanks,
jason
this happens to me all also, don't know what it is though.
Its a message stuck on your sim card. Just delete it and it should go away. If it was like mine it would go away, what I did was put the sim in a regular phone and delete it. Then put it back in your HD2 and it should be gone. If that doesn't work get a new sim card from T-mobile they should replace it for free for you.

so is there a way to go into thesim and delete this on my hd2 or must i use another phone?
thanks again

Try moving it from the sim to your phone and then deleting it. I remember getting this when I first got my HD2 and that was what I did.
Future 129's just go straight to the phone so no problem getting rid of them.
I seem to recall that one of the potential causes of this would be having visual voicemail enabled on the account without the vvm app running on the phone.
Sounds like its a notification message for VVM then. VMM likely normally intercepts it before you get a chance to see it would be my guess
I asked T-Mobile about this...
T-Mobile told me that this was a page from someone leaving you a voicemail message. If you call to check your voicemail options on T-Mobile, there is an option to not allow yourself to be paged. The only weird thing I noticed with this is that whenever I get one of those messages, it never contains any informaton. I started using the visual voice mail and I still get the 129 messages. After some thought I decided to not turn it off, any extra reminders that I have a voice mail are welcome!

Bingo. I later remembered that was the resolution when I got those on my TP2 months ago. The text is supposed to be the trigger for the vvm app to sync with the server...but I do remember them stopping as soon as I removed the vvm option from my account (I had tested the app and was unimpressed).

SIM Card

Hi All
Have searched for similar threads with no luck, so I hope this is in the right place and not going over what others have sorted out.
My phone is at HTC Touch Diamond 2 with WM6.5. I used to be able to store 100s of messages on the phone, decided to clear them out, and now every time a message comes through it says that the SIM card is full and I need to delete messages to free up space. When I look there are none, I have checked the deleted and there are none left in there. Is there a way to have messages saved to the SD card instead of the SIM, or is there something I am missing.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Getting rid of SIM messages in Messaging

I put Windows Phone 7 on my HD2 last week, and I swear while I was setting it all up there was an option to show or not show SIM messages when looking in Messaging.
However now I am using the phone regularly I can't find it any more! Every time I reboot the phone, the SIM messages are loaded higher up the list than my actual text messages which is really frustrating because it makes it hard to see my current conversations.
Does anyone know where the setting to stop it showing SIM messages is?
Thanks!

Try deleting one of them, and if it is not deleted from the sim, the check box might appear again on next reboot. Else delete what you don't need
Interesting that you can import messages from sim but not save to sim, how many messages are there?
i think what you've seen whilst setting up the phone was the message "import sim contacts now" and not sim sms... there's no setting about that in wp7 afaik
I think there are about 20 or so SIM messages. I deleted one and it went away, but didn't give me any more options to delete any others and the rest of the SIM messages are still there.
Obviously I could just delete them all but I find it annoying there is not the option to just hide them from the messaging view or something.
