SIP calling with HD2 rom 1.66 Norwegian - HD2 General

Hello there.
I have read all the threads in this forum about enabling SIP calling with WinMo 6.5. On my HD2 I have installed missing files in Windows, installed Config tool 2.0 for setting up SIP account, enabled port 5060 in registry, enabled calling via Internet in Phone settings and so on.
BTW: It looks that I have to load and save config file through the Config tool every time I soft reset the phone...
The phone interface now displays the name of the SIP config: IPLINK. Does that mean that my phone has a connection to the SIP pbx?
When I try to make a call inside Norway, ex: +47 9003xxxx I get an error message that says "Cannot complete the call. The signal can be unavailable or the phone number is not valid. Check the number and try again later".
I have tried all number combinations (with or without international code), same message...
What is wrong with my phone or my config?

Hey there,
I've been playing around with configuring voip calls on wm, with no luck, but I believe that that error you refer to, comes when the number you dial does not match the rules in your ipdialplan.xml. Also I noticed that it gives that error when the number you are calling is not reachable on that moment.

I have read all the posts about this topic but it's hard to understand how to set up the ipdialplan.xml.
I have made my HTC HD2 ready for Voip calling and everyting looks fine exept from calling. The phone returns "Cannot complete the call. The signal can be unavailable or the phone number is not valid. Check the number and try again later".
All my numbers is stored like this: +47 70080900 or +4770080900. International call out of Norway: 00. All phone numbers inside Norway is 8 digits.
What part do I have to change in this dialplan to match my country settings and my phonebook entries?
PS: The ipdialplan.xml from my phone is attached in a separate file.

Just use PortSIP app it's just great!

Please stick to subject.

I have played a litle around with the ipdialplan.xml file and after editing the 10-digit rule calls now work via SIP when I enter 8 digits in a row.
I also tried to edit the 11-digit rule section but found no solution.
As I mentioned earlier my phonebook contain numbers in the form of +47 70080900 or +4770080900.
There is 4 lines with rules in the 11-digit section. How should they look like to cover my needs?

Calling Card dialing

Has anyone found a utility or a way to automatically dial numbers using a calling card? This is a rather convenient feature in my previous (non-WM5) cell phone that allowed me to import my corporate phone numbers and then use automatic calling card to dial them without editing hundreds of entries in the phone book.
I have noticed the "Callingcard" code sample at MSDN, however, there does not seem to be a compiled binary available anywhere and I do not have the development environment available.
Any help or tips appreciated.
Ihave been using this one
It is one of the importat things for me
so I use Program called "Long Distance Dialer (Pocket PC Phone) 1.3"
it works on WM2003, WM2003SE and I am runing it right now on WM2005
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=12595
good luck
DNO
Thanks! I did not realize it even runs on WM5. However, it does not see to go past dialing the access number - goes to reorder / busy tone right after. Is there a trick / fix to it?
I am using it on HTC Wizard
I never had that kind of problem
I don't know how to help you
This is my settings
Name: My card name
Acces#: my number (only numeric )
Dial Seq : PIN/Destination
Wait: 1Sec Pin : My pin
Wait 1 Sec Destination
then I go to Contacts I right click on the name I want to dial , it gives me optioon >> Dial using : then Name of my calling card .
When I click on that it gives me list of the phone numbers unther that name .
Since I call from USA I do need to select option << Add 011 before number >> but I do not do it because I added 011 to all phone numbers that I call with the card , in the Contacts
I hope this will help.
Good luck

I installed Long Distance Dialer 1.5 on my PPC. I like it so much that I want to register ($4.99). However 1.5 cannot be purchased anywhere anymore. Did anyone manage to purchase a registration key for 1.5? Or alternatively are 1.3 registration keys inter-changeable with 1.5?
This seems like a great piece of software, but it won't seem to accept pins less than 4 numbers. I have all my number listed with the country code first, so I need to add 00 to call them. In the past, I've configured my calling card feature to use 00 as the pin, which works great, but I can't get this to do it and I don't want to manually add 00 to all my numbers!
Many thanks for any help,
Paul
The link is to version 1.3. What you need is version 1.5. A quick Google will give you two or three sources.
1.5 has no limitations, but has an annoying trial notice pop-up each time you use it. Where can I purchase a registration key?
Thanks for the reply. I've downloaded v1.5, but it still won't let me enter a pin of less than 4 digits. Any thoughts?
Many thanks,
Paul
Solved the problem. In v1.5 you can put spaces as well, so, even though it needs at least 4 characters, I can put two spaces and then the two zeros.
Best,
P
Interesting - I was trying to solve my problem with the software dialing only the calling card access number. I defined an address book entry with the whole number with pauses - and still only the access number gets dialed. The card I use follows the "Number followed by PIN" model with a second dial tone after you dial the access number and a third one after the called number. Any ideas what could be causing the issue? Could it be that the Wizard does not recognize that the call has been completed after it dials the access number?
free and the best calling card dialing software
this is reply to betstu2004 request i.e compiled binary from msdn betstu2004 mentioned about
its in cab format and is attached for downloading.
here is the procedure for installing and using it:
1)copy the cab file in ppc and install it
2)then using any registry editor we have to edit the values of number to be dialled and the pin number of the calling card,to do that
open registry editor
go to:
hkey_current_user
then software
then microsoft
then calling card
in this option you have to edit two entries
1st is Number which is your calling card number
2nd is Pin which is your pin number
save the changes
then to use the software
go to contacts
then
with stylus touch and hold the contact(international) you want to dial
you will see an option
call mobile using calling card
click it
and ppc will start dialling using calling card software with stored calling card number and pin
once the card is finished you can input the values of number if different from previous one and pin again
in some cases the new number and pin will only be saved in the registry after soft reseting the phone
you can even adjust the pause time which is 2 sec by default
this software is working perfectly on my xda exec and i hope you all will love it
cheers
My email to the author (VSOFTCODE) of LDD bounced. Looks like I will have to remove it after the trial expires.
Edit: I just managed to purchase a licence through Handango after all.
----->chaniana
Thanks works fine!!
chaniana - BIG thanks - it works flowlessly.
Now - if I could only get it to dial the number before the PIN!
reg key
Well I know this is not a warez site but
would it be wrong if I give out the reg code ??
I think not ,because the software no longer supported by the developer.
what you think ???
One more thing !!
I have Version 1.3 which I bought from www.pockeatgear.com
where did you find v1.5 ???
Let me know
DNO
this is cool....
chaniana , i have been looking for something like this for a while... i have 2003 not 2005 to be able to complie or change this...
I am just migrating form treo 650 and am missing a program TakePhone. what it did it let me create rule
e.g. any number starting with a string it will use a calling card so i could set +44 use a calling card x
that way when i disl a number it will intercept the call an see the first few digits, if +44 it will dialthe calling card and wait for me to hit a button to enter a pin then eait for another button to dial the number, all in a few strokes i was dialing international and never had to change my contacts. when i was there in UK all i do is disabke the rule and voila i am in business...
see if u can do this
i did something similar in VS2003 creating from scratch an app that would list the contacts and i enter a ph and pin in 2 seperate textboxes and hit dial, got it to make a call to the 1800# but could not figure out how to dial the rest automatically so i am stuck
Long Distance Dialer 1.5 at handango.com.
Just pay the 5 bucks, it may inspire others to create affordable useful software!
This software doesn't work with PocketInformant. Any solution ?
I installed Long Distance Dialer 1.5 (Trial), entered Calling card (access#, PIN)
I can see new menu item when I right click "contact", but when I select "Dial CCard" NOTHING happe! No call started.
I'm using Wizard.
Hi
I am not able to see any context menu once I tried using by stylus
I am on WM6.1
Is it still usable
cheers

SIP problem :(

So I just moved to the Touch HD from the Nokia E90 which had a smooth, built in SIP client.
With some googling and the help of some posts, I successfully set up the WM6 VOIP cab, and used the SIP Config Tool to configure my Gizmo account.
It connected successfully and I could even receive a call. I changed the settings to make calls "Whenever Available" .... Now whenever I make a call, I get a voice prompt from Gizmo saying call cannot be connected as dialed.
Now this is a proof I am connected to Gizmo servers successfully. But I cannot dial out to regular phones.
I tinkered more with this and found out this was a matter of IPDialPlan.xml file ..... which seemed logical because in my Nokia E90 the phone automatically added a suffix to the numbers.
I could not understand the format .... and I used a file from some forum post that even worsened the situation. Now I can't even dial out to get the prompt.
Can anyone help me with a legit IPDialPlan.xml file? I'd be very grateful.

Strange problem with SPV M3100

Hello everybody,
I have a strange problem with my PDA. I'm using WM6 Black Satin ROM. My contact list contains over 400 contacts (and over 500 phone numbers). Each phone number is saved in format +xx xxxxxxxxx, cause in that format it comes from Outlook. Most phone numbers have +48 as country prefix and 9 digits with phone number (cause in Poland cellular phone numbers have 9 digits). I have set Call Id match value to 9.
Everything worked fine, but from a few days i noticed, that some (about 10% of all) contacts are not recognizedy by phone when someone calls. PDA displays only phone number (the same which is stored in my contact list), but cannot find contact name. Similar - when SMS arrives, I can see only phone number, name is not recognized. When I open SMS and tap sender's phone number, PDA asks if he should store that number in contact list (that number is already there). Storing doesn't help - I tried to create new contact, store in existing.
I tried to delete problem contacts and recreate them - it helped in 2-3 contacts, rest still is not working properly. I tried to change Call ID match value - tried values between 3 and 12, doesn't change anything. In some cases, phone recognizes phone numbers after removing '+' from phone number, but without '+' I'm unable to make calls. I can remove whole '+48' (and phone recognition still works), but I need country prefix, cause I often have to make calls using roaming.
Please HELP !!!!!!!!!
Have you tried 0048 instead of +48 for the problem numbers? I noticed when my Hermes had its original WM5 ROM, some numbers were sometimes presented by the other mobile network as "07" instead of "+447", so I had that problem. I just had to make extra entries in my contacts lists...
It's not done that though for a long time now (I've changed ROMs a couple of times too), sorry I can't help more.
Thanx for replying. I tried to replace '+' with '00', but PDA still doesn't recognize that number. I think that in some cases '+' makes, that phone number cannot be found.
Maybe there is another setting in registry, which defines length of phone number compared to number from incoming call? I found this setting in HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\CallIDMatch. It looks like sometimes PDA doesn't use that setting, cause my numers ale longer than 9 characters (usually 12 including '+'), and adding '+' as first character makes them unrecognizable.

Anyone else with caller ID problems?

Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone else might be having a similar problem with 'caller [or texter] ID'.
Most networks, as I understand it, use the international dialing code when sending out texts and calls, meaning this is usually the incoming number when you recieve a text or call.
I've obviously got people programmed into my contacts who text me but when they do, I don't get their name, I get their number - with the dialling code eg. +447750500500. When I tap to go into the threaded mode, I'll get all previous contact with this person but with them identified only as the number. However if I head to the People tab, then again to see the messages I've sent/recieved with that person, I get the same messages only under the banner of their name and not the number.
I believe calls work fine with the code programmed in on their contact profile.
Anyone know why this is being caused?
I have the same problem. Both calls and text messages.
I don't think it matters if the international code is there or not.
Really frustrating not knowing who calls.
I've had this problem first time the device was initialized (right after opening the box). It might be caused by the fact I didn't have any SIM in it at that time, I'm not sure.
After a hard reset with a SIM inserted, everything started working as it's supposed to.
Hmm, I've changed the SIM, but I can't remember if it worked wih the first SIM card.
But a hard reset deletes everything, right?
There are a few things you have to be sure of:
Do not have double contacts, if you have a number (with and without operator/country prefix) twice in your list it will not show any name.
I don't know if this applies if you have a contact on your phone memory and on your sim card. I am sure it does have this problem if you have two contacts with the same number on the memory phone.
For some reason this is logic: On an incoming call, the phones checks it's phonebook and retrieves two numbers and then it does not know what to display, is it contact one, or two?
I hope this helps you out. I did not experience any problems (yet).

Try this....
1. Edit one "test number" in your contacts and remove international codes.
Just put that "test" tel number. without int. codes... And make sure that number is not stored nder another contact. (No duplicates.)
2. Then dial from that number and see if that tel# is identified. If you have just "0xx-123456" then go to #3.
3. Go to registry and change of the Caller ID match rule. (Minus one digit.)
Example: Caller ID rule:8 (Change from 8 to 7 or 6 to 5 .. trailing digits for Call ID match. )
* HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value:7
4. Restart and test again...
5. If its OK, than test with SMS.
6. If its OK again , put back your international codes and test again.
7. If not go to no.3
Hope this helps.

3)upon doing the hard reset, the phone will prompt you on importing sim contacts and finding your service provider. select both and and press ok
4)now try to call from your house to your phone to do a check.

What was happening to me before the reset was a bit different - the phone wasn't able to match anything at all - even a number called from the phonebook and stored in "recent calls" in EXACTLY the same way it's in contact, didn't match to the contact when redialed.
I think that something required for Caller ID to work gets done when the phone is first initialized, and that this step requires full access to the phone module (which the phone doesn't have without a SIM inserted and a proper PIN entered).
hi,
i encountered also that worry,
i set the HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value:9
my mobile phone number to test was stored as "06xxyyzzww"
and when i phone my diamond2 from that number
the caller id is recognized
(with showing as +336wwxxyyzz)
i tested from my home phone stored in contacts as 04wwxxyyzz
i rang my topaz its was identfied as my home,
(with showing as +334wwxxyyzz)
i am in france, + is for 00 ,our phone numbers are 10 digits long
(mobiles and "home") ,
to be joined from abroad, you have to dial +33+phone number WITHOUT the first digit "0")
so the "9" value i put in the registry
if it could help you

Hi,
just stumbled over the same problem.
The old phone (HTC P330) resolved numbers from my used format 01234-56789.
Since my contacts are a mess, I have 01234-12345, +49-123456-456, +49 (0123)-456 and so on, it would be a great pain in my ass to switch every contact to +49123-456 (which the new phone resolved).
I compared the Registry-Entry from the P3300 with the TD2 and voila: TD2 was 12, P3300 had the value 8.
I changed the TD2 to value 8, reboot and now I'm happy again, the phone is getting used to my contact list

Hi,
I'm experiencing the exactly same problem, that incomming calls or messages isn't shown by name, but only by number.
I'm all new to Windows mobile, but I tried downloading a regeditor, and experimented with different values in the CallIdMatch string. However, no succes.
I live in Denmark, where numbers look like +4512345678, where +45 is the international code. Can someone please tell me, what should be the correct value? The original values was 8.
I have further found that some contacts are recognized. What the difference is between the groups, are however unclear!
Caller ID problem, my solution
I had the same problem. But after a hard reset it seems to work just fine now. Remember to backup your downloaded programs etc before doing this.

Hi,
"8" should be the good figure for you, as in France
we have phone numbers +33987654321
and "9" is the good value for me, in:
HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value:
Edit: i remove previous "edit"
in fact all my contacts had been erased" so it was normal to have no caller ID?
ps: is your carrier sendind all the figures when you're receiving calls, i mean +4512345678
so perhaps you're encountering a bug .
you should try to backup your device, with a soft like spritebackup(special price for htc owners on their webpage) and experiment an hardreset
and restore

Hi ,
did you ever try to change the following:
RegistryEdit and Decreasing the CallIDMatch from 12 to 7 solved my Issue
See below
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone" name="CallIDMatch"
Greetings from Slovenia
Hello,
that is my first post so please do not be very critical to my english level and PPC skills .
now this is an old thread but for BULGARIA the correct registry value is "9". Here the mobil numbers are as follows "08xx 123456" (9 digits without the ZERO at the very beginning). that is why the usefull number is that (default for my TD2 was 8). Now after this fix the phone can correctly identify which number i want to dial when i am inserting it by digits, instead of selecting the exact person. i do not know am i explaining correctly but i will try to put some more detail on that. When i want to dial some particular number (for example "08xx 123456") the phone select me the correct contact no matter how i put this contact in memory. with "+3598xx 123456" or only with "08xx 123456". before that intervention the phone identifies me the correct contact only if i type the digits, exactly the same way that i have added it to the memory. So i think that this registry key does not have a universal resolution. the resolution depends on how many digits is using tha particular mobile operator.
i hope that will be helpful for someone who is happy to own an HTC and is happy with it ... like Me

[GUIDE] New guide for VOIP/SIP on WM6..all files included

I spent a couple hours sorting through blog posts, downloads, cabs, blah blah blah... with the goal of getting my forsaken Treo Pro (WM6) to use VOIP through my office's SIP/Asterisk setup.
To save you all some headaches, here's the distilled version of what I found to be the best combination of software and quick hints for install:
I started with this blog post, to give credit..
http://voipguides.blogspot.com/2008/05/voip-sip-client-for-windows-mobile-6.html
But I used different software... so I've included a zip with the package of all the stuff I installed to make the damn thing work.
1) Install all of these:
- voipdrivers.cab
- custelvoip.cab (works better than MajikVOIP.cab)
- sipconfig.cab (originally named SipConfigTool_2_0_1.CAB)
- audioroute.cab (from http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware)
I've also included setupvoip.cab .. which is a fancier SIP setup tool, and may work better than sipconfig... but I used sipconfig originally, so that's what I'm writing up here.
2) Restart your phone
3) Run sipconfig ... enter all of your sip configuration details, and also use the menu option to enable VOIP over 3G if you desire it.
4)Now go start -> settings -> personal -> Phone. Choose ther Internet Calling tab. Set the option for "whenever available".
5)On the main/Today screen you will see a phone icon with description VOIP ( you entered name of provider VOIP in (step 4). It'll show you the status of whether or not it has registered with SIP. A Hint, you might need to trick the phone into connecting to 3G first... e.g. by browsing the web... otherwise WM6 at least doesn't seem to auto-connect to 3G for SIP.
6) After connecting using 3G or wifi, You will see the status displayed as VOIP: Available.
7) You can now make calls as normal, or receive calls in.. and everything is routed through VOIP.
8) You'll notice that many WM phones will route the audio through the rear speaker (annoying) .. which is why you installed audio router from teksoft... it adds a little icon on your top system tray to let you change between earpiece and rear speaker for audio. There's a bunch of audio switchers out there. This is the best one by a mile. And it actually works.
Cheers,
Andrew Eross
Thanks for your effort. Similar tool is already posted as Schap - Setup voip Tool -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1364611
Thank you!!!
I've looked around for a guide as clear as yours. You've the best guide all around... Thank you a bunch...
Thanks for your great job. I new on Windows Mobile so I need a lot this kind of help.
I download and followed your installation procedure on a HTC 3G+, T3238 (chinese version of the HTC 3G, manufacturer HTY Taiwan)
Works well, Hope others also will be successfull
By the way, is there an also simple way to sending DTMF tones for remote control of my answering machine? When I try to send numeric keys after the call is connected it looks like I start a new connection with numbers actually for remote control of my answering machine.
Hi, I'm also in the club that has browsed hundreds of post looking for a setup of VOIP and also looking for a solution on good incoming sound level when using Voip on phone. Your files solved all my problems!
Phone: HTC HD2 Norwegian with Rom 1.66. Use the Norwegian company www.iplink.no for VOIP at home / office and (now) on my mobile phone.
Made my own ipdialplan.xml which can be found attached to this post.
Done some testing calling people through Voip: after approx 1 minute the connection falls down. I looks like I'm still connected to the other part (interface shows that a call is going on) but none of us can hear the other part. I then have to cancel the call in the phone interface. Make new call to same person, after approc minute the connection goes down again...
Is there some kind of registry setting that controls this "timeout"?
Hi, this tools does work also on windows mobile 6.5?
I know that on the HTC Fuze some of the wmvoip.cab installs breaks the GPS - anyone test this yet?
THanks!
does this work on hd2
I've done everything you said, but I can't find the option to show internet calling is available. I have Kumar 1.5 installed, and am about to try another ROM (maybe Laurentis, the SIP drivers are cooked in). What are you running?

Best Voip All in one solution. Try This
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=596682
I tried last night to no avail. I am guessing that using a WM6.5.x ROM stops me, because I can't access the right settings (start-settings-personal-home or phone) because my settings button takes me straight to the black screen of text version. I even tried to go to a 6.5 ROM (cooked with VOIP drivers in), and even then I couldn't get the VOIP phone icon to appear on the today screen. Every time I selected it from the Internet tab in the setting, it would just ignore my changes.
I would love to get this working with a nice cooked 6.5.x ROM, and am not giving up yet, but man is this frustrating. As a side note, I am learning lots about the workings of WM.

thanks for the reply. i have also installed i was able to receive incoming call but unable to make outgoing call. are you able to make outgoing call?
Okay, I feel like an idiot, but I figured out how to enable the internet calling tab on my HD2. I am still apparently learning lots about WM6.5. After I disabled Sense, I could add tabs to the today screen. I did everything right, but the voip tab just either says searching or not active. And it somehow disabled my data connection. Not sure anymore, almost through trying ROMs. Is everyone else running this on a stock ROM, or are there certain features that interfere with this?
VOIP almost working
I've implemented Internet Dialing and have SIP configured my my provider and I am able to receive calls. But, I notice that when I dial out a "9" is put in front of the number I'm dialing making it impossible to dial a number correctly. How can I change this?

Click to collapse
You need to edit your ipdialplan.xml. It's in your windows directory. Basically it is set up by default to dial a 9 and in area code 425... If you look at it you should see where to edit it... There's also a utility knocking about here to set up a basic one for other countries...
Can't svae ipdialplan changes
I can open Total Commander find the file and make the changes to ipdialplan.xml by taking the "9" out of the 10 digit plan and the 7 digit plan, but I can't save the changes. I get "Error, could not create file" every time.
It's either open or write protected. Edit on the PC. Copy it over with a different extension. Rename the original, and then rename the new one to the right name.....
I have this very strange problem.
I have tried to install all this, but it works only partially.
Outgoing calls work and the receiving party can hear me. However, I don't hear them. Also, on incoming calls my phone doesn't respond at all.
Does anyone have any idea what is the problem?
I'm having a Topaz @ WM65.
