Why don't you set a wallpaper in a reg file or a rgu file?
(don't know which key and slot, but that would be pretty easy to find)
Really!? can it work?
I change the app.reg file
It dont work at all
why?

Hey guys,
I am trying to create my EXTENDED ROM so that on Hardreset will automatically make the EXT ROM writable AND visible with the name "ExtROM"
Here's my Config.txt:
LOCK:Enabled
CAB: \Extended_ROM\DISABLESECURITY.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_SSD_BTUR_Patch_For_BT_Cannot_Initial.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_SSD_Shortcut_WWE.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_o2UK_UAProf.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_Remove_BatteryIcon.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_PictureEnhancement_reg.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_UNI_Disable_ErrorDump-Obex.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_Version.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\CAB-Customization-O2UK-Universal.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Signed_MoveO2Tone.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\CAB-Shortcut-O2UK-22Aug05.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\VT_DisableOK_O2_0830_signed.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\TRE.arm.CAB
EXEC: \Extended_ROM\UNI_ext_rom_unlock.exe
RST: Reset
Notice I've added Buzz UNI_ext_rom_unlock.exe at the end. But Buzz's just unlocks the ext. rom for writing... Now I also want the Config.txt to automatically make the nessecary Registry tweaks to make the Ext. Rom VISIBLE.. That is, without making manual tweakings. How do I go about making the required change to the Config.txt to apply the right registry settings for that?
BTW:
I would prefer it to be visible with the name "ExtRom" or "Storage", rather than the default "Extended_Rom", that is according to Buzz suggestion as to avoid it be called Extended_Rom2 or making the StorageCard called StorageCard2 later on.
Please guys.. make my day And let me donate to both XDA-Developers and Buzz site as making me happy )
Cheers,
MOBILER
In theory all you should need to do is install the Uni_ExtRom_unlocker.cab but this cab file is defective and writes the wrong value to the registry. I would suggest waiting until someone post a cab with the correct values for the registry.
The Extended_Rom is already readable. Just use Total Commander to look at it. Goto Total Commander and type in \Extended_ROM and you can see its contents. I have never had to change the registry to view it on the universal. Had to see it on Blue Angel. Not sure how to rename it, but i have seen it in one of threads here or over at buzznet.
Maybe its just on the Jasjar, but its always been available to see it. Even immediately after upgrading to the latest rom.
If you want to write to it, just the run the uni_unlocker and then copy in your prepared extended_rom.
Attached is a cab file that I used today to install the unlocker to enable writing to the extrom. This cab also has the registry settings, While dah seems to say ot doesn't work. it works for me. And the registry setting he talks about is not G31 in this cab.
Interesting...
This Uni_ExtRom_unlocker.cab is not the same as the Uni_ExtRom_unlocker.cab I downloaded 2/24/2006 and has the corrected value for DriverPath. Now if they would change "ExtendedROM" to ExtROM" we would be set.
Thanks
Thanks dah54 and eagle 1,
I know I need to the use the Total Commander, but that's exactly the problem. I don't want to use the TC, because I want it to be visible just like a normal storage card, so that i would be able to directly install software there, and not just being able to access it via total commander, that is I already do.
And that's been my point, over the last few days, the CABs files here where faulty. Try the version of eagle 1's cab (in the 3rd post) it should do all most all that you want, the name will be ExtendedROM but the normal file explorer will see the Extended ROM as a storage card, and you will not require any additional software. Install this version, run the program, turn your device off, wait 5 minutes, then soft reset with the button. You should see the ExtendedROM folder.
Note>> If you wait after turning your device off, this gives the Universal time to write the changes made to the registry, to the registry. If you simply soft reset and the changes have not been written to the registry your Extended ROM will not be seen. Then you must re-install the program to get the registry values reloaded to the registry!
Thanks a lot dude!! time for some donations to this great board!
How i can set all Prameters with command line in shortcut:

such as in (Sk-CabInstaller)
Much Thanks
i want a help
You can't specify destination with wceload.exe
For all other features just add the command line options in quotes after the exe name in the lnk file.
You can find the parameter list here.
thank you very much
but how sk cabinstaller change the destination
I have managed to get some instructions as to how to use this file see below:
__________________________________________________ ______________________
The commands available are as follows:
CAB - Installs a .cab file.
EXEC - executes a program.
XML - runs an XML script.
HIDE - hides or shows the AutoRun program.
LOCK - prevents or enables user input.
CPY1 - copies a file or files
CPY2 - pastes files specified in CPY1
SHOW - shows a bitmap, and
RST - executes a soft-reset.
Phew!
In turn then (please bear in mind, while each command must be followed by a colon ":" - not all are followed by spaces):
CAB: \Location\File.cab - Note, a space must be inserted after the colon, and no trailing spaces should be added. The location can be anywhere, SD Cards are denoted - in all commands - by \Storage Card\. Some have experienced problems where the file extension for the cab file is capitalised, so watch out for this.
EXEC:\Location\File.exe - note, NO space. Other rules are per CAB.
XML: \Location\File.xml - as for CAB. I'd say only use this for now if you know what you're on about. I have an XML I use to re-arrange my today screen and a couple of other bits. Will post it up if requested.
HIDE:Enabled or HIDEisabled - NO space, only Enabled or Disabled will work or the command is ignored. If "Enabled", the AutoRun screen (progress bar and WM Screen) are hidden allowing the user to watch progress. This is useful if CABs require input (like O2 Plus 2.3 or MortRing).
LOCK:Enabled or LOCKisabled - NO Space. Does what it says, locks or disables the lock for user input.
CPY1: \Location\File, followed immediately by CPY2: Location -this copies a file from one specified location to another. CPY2 MUST FOLLOW CPY1.
SHOW: \Location\File.bmp - shows a bitmap. Useless really, unless you completely hate the WM Customisation bitmap.
RST: Reset - performs a soft-reset.
So.....here's a sample SDConfig.txt - it's an extended version of the one I tested with some of the guys.
HIDE:Enabled
CAB: \Storage Card\AutoConfig\MortRing.cab
HIDEisabled
LOCK:Enabled
CAB: \Storage Card\AutoConfig\BTio.cab
CAB: \Storage Card\AutoConfig\BT_Quicklink.cab
XML: \Storage Card\AutoConfig\Auto_Setup.xml
RST: Reset

I still have some questions?
If the cab file normally asks where you want to install it: device or memory card,
will it just install it onto device as default if I use the LOCK:Enabled command?
Just a bit concerned wouldn't want the device to ask for user input but then be locked :-(
Secondly If I use the copy and paste CPY1 and CPY2 comands what happens if you are pasteing it to a folder that has the same file name? Usually it prompts the user and asks do you want to overwrite this file Y/N? If you use the LOCK:Enabled command again will this overwrite the file by default?
Or do you need to enable user input? If you do need to tell it what your chose is (i.e. overwrite the file) is there a way to automate it so it does it automatically?
Thanks in advance, I want to try this on my wifes XDA Orbit, with the Artemis Touch 4.02 Lite rom, but don't want to risk bricking it?
P.S. the green smily in the instructions should be ":" and "D" together without the quotes
don't know how to show it without it being displayed as ???
Thanks again

With UC the progs are always installed to the Phone's memory, never to the SD-card...
The overview looks quite correct, although the example contains HIDEisabled instead of HIDE:disabled. You may also want to use CODE around your examples to ensure invalid spaces are not added by the forum (happens when too long words without spaces are used)...

Nika.
Will CPY2 create a new folder if it doesn't exist?
Is there a way to create a new folder?
Why does this not work?

Hi,
I have created a new ROM for my kaiser with some more apps - so far so good.
During the customization I am installing 3 more CAB (with autorun and config.txt), but unfortunately I have not found any command to delete these CABS after installation.
AFAIK config.txt only supports the following commands:
LOCK: Enabled lock the device so no user action is possible
CAB: \Extended_ROM\... install a CAB file use
EXEC: \Extended_ROM\... execute a file
CPY1: \Extended_ROM\sourcefile specify source for copy command
CPY2: \windows\targetfile copies CPY1 file to target
XML: \windows\... execute a provisioning XML file
LOCK: Disabled unlocks the device
RST: Reset execute a reset at the end
CFG: \Storage\Config2.txt include configuration from another file e.g. Config2.txt (same syntax as Config.txt)
HIDE: Enabled hides the autorun screen so that user interaction can take place.
HIDE: Disabled shows the autorun screen after user interaction.
SHOW: \Extended_ROM\...
But this does not give me the chance to delete a file.
Any suggestion ?
Regards
kuzco
create a mortscript to delete the files, call it with EXEC. If EXEC only allows .exe file then use the autorun.exe feature in mortscript to call the script.
Ever tried a search?
Found the solution in 10 secs...
tighter specifications for config.txt and other customizing files
big sorrow, my huge and complicated customization failed on new rom.
after a dozen reflashing I finally located problem.
IN NEW ROMs, there is "RunCC" app which completely replaces "autorun" (autorun.exe and associates are not present)
- "RunCC" is by default using script files, with the same names as were in ROMs customized by "autorun" (config_operator.txt, config.txt...)
- commands used in script files in "RunCC" are compatible with commands from "autorun", but many are not supported, look below
why we need customization on the first place?
- as our custom roms are already customized of course, we don't need it for the same reason as it was meant to be used,
but as customization is executed right after initialization of a new rom, and before any of other startup apps or today screen plugins that's making it a good tool for running little scripts with user choices, or programs registering scripts, or registry, notification, file changes.
advantages of RunCC:
- more flexible for operators, OEM companies, and parties doing customization
if there is bug in one of script txt files, (or it's missing) customization will continue with next file
every operator has assigned it's config*.txt file, now if one have bug, other would still run
- change priority for executing script files
- can execute config*.txt files from SD cards without custom made sdAutoRun.exe
* well, except the option of running SD configs, there's isn't much advantage in all this for us cooks, as there is only one customizer-the cooker
disadvantages:
- not supporting HIDE: and LOCK: commands - not possible to use with user-input type customizing apps
- can't redirect script files to each other (command CFG
files to be run are defined in special file (with kind of basic C++ commands): RunCC.lua
this could lead to possible conflict with creating file of the same name + troubles if someone like me is trying to use his own config_papo.txt script file, like he was used to. This leads to personal damage in wasted time, electrons and burned out nerve cells
==================================================
scheme as scripts are usually executed by "autorun" customization:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM]
"AutoRunCFG"="\\Windows\\<config>.txt"
* not applicable with RunCC
|
v
config_operator.txt
|
v
config_PT.txt
|
v
config_AP.txt
|
v
config_end.txt
|
v
config.txt
last line in every file have to contain "CFG: \windows\<next_cfg_file>.txt
last one should contain:
LOCKisabled
RST: Reset
* disabling lock on end should make next start complete (without need to start by clicking on start)
==================================================
by "RunCC" customization:
RunCC.lua file: defines all possible script (config*.txt) files, and priorities of excuting with parameter:
RunDefault, RunExtra, RunCustomer (I didn't check on the order, I suppose 'RunDefault' is first)
by default, all script files, as you can see them above are defined, if you use any of them, your commands will be executed, if you use file with different name it won't even if you try to redirect by CFG: command (need to edit RunCC.lua)
CFG:, LOCK:, HIDE: is ignored with RunCC
==========================================
commands:
LOCKisabled -- enable user input (it's semicolon followed by big D letter of course. don't put smilie there like it's shown here)
LOCK:Enabled -- disable user input
HIDE:Enabled -- hides windows logo, background process could be seen HIDEisabled -- covers it back
* if only HIDE:Enabled, status will still not show running program name - if you running scripts which calls on app names, you need LOCKisabled too for them to work
* HIDE: pair (maybe LOCK as well) can't be used twice in one txt file (process would stop)
* LOCK & HIDE don't work with the new autorun
CAB: \windows\... --- install CAB
EXEC:\windows\... --- exe file
XML: \windows\... --- provisioning XML file
CFG: \Storage\Config2.txt --- continue with another autorun, txt file. need to be specified on the last line
TSK: \Windows\... --- theme tsk (not working in all versions of "autorun", not with RunCC)
FILEOP:\windows\... --- New format for file operations files (it's possible it only works with RunCC)
CPY1:\windows\source --- copy (source file)
CPY2:\windows\folder\target --- copy (target file)
RST: Reset --- perform reset
SHOW:\windows\... --- shows custom image file during process. Must be BMP
* note that three letter commands have space after semicolon, in new version of autorun it's not needed, but why not rather using it.
* first file (usually config_operator.txt) is unicode, the rest of it is usually ansi, but could be unicode as well.
* common mistake is using parameters - NOT ALLOWED
* spaces - SDAutorun can handle them (I didn't test for "autorun")
if you need parameters, call mortscript's renamed autorun.exe file which would call the same named script where you could put RUN command with program name and parameters
---
SDAutorun:
you can continue, on SD card having your cab files there to be installed after flashing someone's custom ROM, his ROM has to be "comatible". That is done by adding "sdautorun.exe" and command EXEC:\windows\sdautorun.exe in script file.
(search for sdautorun)
==================
My conclusion is, we don't need RunCC and we want back our old good "autorun"
1. disable RunCC ext package
2. download "autorun" attached to this post. it consist of three EXTs. include all three of them
3. in "Autorun" EXT I added reg entry to disable "RunCC" as this is being run in "init" section which is organized with chaotic style by assigning random numbers 1-100 to each app and hoping to not hit the same twice, you need to check with your rom if RunCC has the same as in my case: 58
if you don't remove entry to run "RunCC", nothing wrong would happen, it's just not healthy in general to have shortcuts to nonexistend exes to be run every start.
I am working on the attachment. will add it later today/tomorrow
Interesting info thanks could you please upload some examples as this is all new to me
Many thanks [email protected]
sure, still trying to get more from it. then I'll upload that substitutive autorun I promised before.
examples.. you can find it in your phone, search config*.txt files in windows folder
or for runCC the file: runcc.lua - windows folder or
in OEM - ControlBlock
