Hey all a little confused. Till I can hspl and get cooked roms... I may as well enjoy what I have now, not too much to complain about since I have my Wifi router cab now..
I was looking for if this phone was up to date, and I saw OS Version says 5.2.21889
I thought that should say 6.5 or something? Rom Version is 2.10
Am I missing something here or a link to a official rom update or is this really 6.5? Thanks. (Obviously no real info on the tmobile usa site)

5.2.21889 is the version of wm6.5 in the device ,in original hd2 itis 5.2.21869 ,so don't worry itis wm6.5
Thanks, One day I should see about adding this silly info in the wiki. But I know since Im one of the early adopters, Trying to make sure I have all info too. =)
OS version is lablled as 5.2 as the actual OS it runs on is WinCE 5.2 Definelty WinMo 6.5 though.

i just tried to install this rom on my unlocked td2 - it does not work. installer complains that this rom is not suitable for the phone.

I am still using my P3600 and I am planning to buy HD2 in Hong Kong.
I have two questions regarding the hardware memory~
1) Does all HD2 comes with 448MB RAM which can become 576MB with
special radio ROM as mention in Wiki?
2) Are there two versions of ROM size? 512MB and 1024MB?
Would there be cooked ROM so big that it is over 512MB?

yes, first the HD2 has 448mb RAM, after upgrading to latest radio u get 576mb )
but u cant change the ROM size..
only US T-Mobile HD2 got 576mb RAM and 1gb ROM from the start, others can get 576mb RAM but not the 1gb ROM
and i dont think that there will be ever a winmo rom wich is bigger than 512mb...

there won't be fully working android on the hd2 for a while yet. don't think about android as part of your decision.

Various sources saying that it will be free upgrade and also there will not be upgrade at all.
Maybe I really need to wait for Obsession.
Microsoft said no, it will not have an upgrade to wm7... so it seems we will really dont get an official upgrade :/
but yea, hope is not gone yet, someone already ported wm7 to hd2.. we'll see..
just look at the hd2 as it is right now.. you like windows mobile 6.5? buy it. maybe you'll get WM7 and android afterall

Hello I have bought yesterday a HTC HD2 from a guy
At device informations -> Hardware Informatin appear to be 576 mb of ram but when i go to Memory (Program) the total is 208.81 mb. The olny change that he made to the phone was an update
How i can fix it?

On my version, I have OS version 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82), ROM v 1.66.409.1 (76641). Dated 01/12/10. This is 6.5.1, isn't it?
I'm looking for the newest stock ROM possible, preferrably in English, but will have to cope with Norwegian if I have to.

1.66 is the lastest ROM for Europe according to HTC's website. http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=297&cat=2&dl_id=856
You can always flash a custom ROM which is more up to date.

I downloaded few roms but they didnt update each time some error popped up.
Here's the detail of the phone i have.

Okay well first off do you have a TMOUS HD2 or International HD2. TMOUS will have T-Mobile above your screen.
If you do have T-mobile you should not be trying to download any ROM's that are based on 2.07 or lower. Although the phones might look the same they are not. If you do have a International HD2 then your in the incorrect forum. Look for HTC: Leo HD2 on the forum list.
& if you are trying to flash custom roms you need HSPL. Please read the stickies posted on ROM Development before trying any of this. There is a chance you will brick your HD2 and it will end up useless.(Broken)
Check this thread out and scroll down to my post and all that information will help you if you indeed do have a TMOUS HD2.

howdy all, im new to the forum havent really had a chance to have much of a browse yet.
have had my hd2 for a while now and tbh im no overly impressed with it, whether or not that's just me not being able to get to grips with it im unsure of, but it always seems to be glitching, takes a while to do anything locks up quite a lot many problems.
just wondering is there anyway of making the whole thing run more smoothly?
any help would be greatly appreciated, and bare with me as im so out of touch with phones nowadays.
Well I assume you are still using the stock Windows Mobile ROM. Do this go to Settings>About Phone>Software Information and tell us what ROM and radio you have right now as I bet you are not on the most recent ROM as the older Windows Mobile ROMs were unstable.

T-Macgnolia was right your HD2 is running stock from way back from launch day...
The latest radio is 2.15.50 while the latest stock rom is somewhere in the 3.0 range
If you want to stick with stock try flashing the latest T-mobile / HTC update... make sure you backup anything and everything because you never know what might happen.
Yeah you are running a much older ROM. I can also tell from that ROM version you are using a EU HD2. Go to HTC.com and looks for ROM upgrades and then enter your serial number that is behind the battery and see what the latest ROM version for your HD2. If it says you can use a 3.14 ROM download it and flash it to your HD2. They should have some instructions on the HTC site telling you how to do this. It is simple really come post back here if you have questions. Also you can flash a custom ROM from here on on XDA, you can run Android from your SD card if you want while still having Windows Mobile on your HD2, you can flash Android to your HD2 doing away with Windows Mobile (I run Android right now), and you can flash Windows Phone 7 to your HD2 of you want. But try out a better stock ROM first as it will give you some experience flashing a ROM. Take a look a my guide in my signature as it will teach you some about what I just mentioned, and AI have links to guides on how to install Android or Windows Phone 7.
