boot images - Droid Eris Android Development

How can we change the first boot screen image? I remember using fastboot with my old G1 a while back, but don't remember how or know if it's the same. Also, I was wondering if there are any custom boot animations people have put together yet, I tried the one that saiys, "Eris rooted" but it looks kinda bad, no offense.

You must have the AndroidSDK installed. After installed, plug your phone in but dont mount the card. Then open a command prompt and get to your /tools/ directory of the SDK IE: c:\SDK\tools\
Copy whatever bootanimation you want to your /tools directory and type this command:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
make sure your .zip is named that. I believe it has to be that name so if not, change it to that. Reboot your phone and your set. This works for rooted and none rooted

I don't think he's talking about the boot animation but rather the very first image that pops out the white screen with the three little droids. If anyone knows this can you show some insight,i would like to know also.
And here is a link to a post I've made of bootanimations I've found around the web..

first boot screen
Yeah, I was talking about the first screen with the 3 androids

if that is the skate boarding droids, it is in the boot animation

How can I tell if my N1 is rooted?

I just swapped my HD2 with someone for a N1, and I'm trying to figure out if the phone is rooted or not... I've never had an android phone.
When it boots, the little "unlocked" icon appears at the bottom of the screen, and it appears to have the "custom recovery screen" when I enter the recovery section of the bootloader I get this image:

I ask because the phone shows Kernel version 2.6.29-gad36b87 and build number ERD79, and I wanted to put froyo on the phone but was told only to update froyo from ERE27. I tried to flash ERE27 from the sd card using the recovery screen but keep getting an "unsigned files" error.
I suspect that this is a custom rom already, but have no idea how to tell if it's rooted etc.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Yes it is.
Seems like you have a stock ROM, but custom recovery. You'll need stock recovery to flash the ERE27 update.zip
or you can just flash non stock update like the one of Paul's
the tut thread is here in this forum
Will the Wipe option in that recovery screen accomplish that? I don't mind trying one of the non stocks, but I'm 100% new to this and would love to avoid destroying my phone
Depends how you want to do it.
If you want everything stock, then the easist thing to do would be to grab the complete ERD79 image, flash that and you're good to go, it should OTA to ERE27 pretty quickly.
If not, then as above you can look at a non-stock update, there are tutorials for both, so just take your pick.
Thanks for the advice, I will try one of the non-stocks, I just wanted to make sure that I'd end up with root access and not get hung up halfway through the install.
just go with this one:

its the best, i did it today myself as well

Need Help Booting In Recovery?

So I know that the oppo find 5 is fairly of a new device and not many people have it, yes there is support from a various users and groups (even the CM team has jumped on nightly builds on it) Anyway I want to write to you guys that in the venture of me trying to port a various "ROM" my oppo find 5 would get stuck on the splash screen Green Oppo Letters.I would try to use fastboot to get it back but I never got anywhere. The main problems were that I couldn't get into my previous ROM or the new one I flashed NOR could i get into recovery since I was stuck on the boot screen.
I found a really nice script on the oppo find 5 bricked thread and I modified it with a more "instructional process" to help us oppo find users get back into recovery after failed attempts of trying to get into a rom.
**Please note that for some odd reason the oppo find 5 takes like 1-2 minutes to boot into recovery after this process. I HAVE NO CLUE WHY.**
Also once you get into recovery in this case TWRP i would definately reccomend doing a back up > mounting SD card and transferring it to your PC.

Extract then run batch file - Good luck! :fingers-crossed:

BootLoop? Samsung Galaxy Core Prime SM-S820L

I don't know what happened to my phone. From what I've read, I think its boot loop? I had recently edited my build.prop file. However, I found this was completely unnecessary and was going to overwrite the build.prop file with one that I had backed up to a micro sd card previously. After I did this, I was stuck on the screen(see image). I tried using android recovery mode. I tried "wipe cache partition" and wipe data/factory reset. Afterwards, I tried to reboot from recovery mode, and I saw the word error and the screen was stuck again. I've removed the battery and nothing works. Is something like adb the solution and if so, can someone link me a guide that's really noob friendly. My phone is rooted and this happened after I overwrite the build.prop file and restarted the phone. I have never flashed a rom. Thx in advance.

Similare problem here
I have a similar problem, but a little different...
Rooted the phone and then tried to flash TWRP using their official app., It stated that everything was successful and asked if I wanted to reboot into recovery. I tapped yes so I could make my first backup., Now the phone starts and shows the logo in your image then goes to a blank screen and thats it... Cant boot into recovery or bootloader or anything...
Any advice out there, or do I now won a brick?
I also have this problem and I can not do anything, neither recovery nor odin ...

Followed Stock ROM guide, made some progress, now stuck at Android Recovery

Hello,
I followed the guide at http://https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138.
I went from having TWRP installed and just having blinking white LED to now booting into Android recovery screen (shown here)

Now that I'm at the Android Recovery screen, someone mentioned I should just be able to hit wipe data/factory reset option and it should boot me into the OS. However, what actually happens is the unit reboots, shows the motorola sign, buzzes, goes black, shows the motorola sign again, goes black, then boots back into Android recovery screen shown.
I'm not sure how to continue troubleshooting.
The one thing that stuck out to me is it said "Flash signed images after reboot if needed"
Is that what I'm missing? If so, what does that entail?
Any help is much appreciated. Concerned I may have fully bricked the phone.
Thanks from your frustrated friend,
Connor J.
P.s. Model # is XT1625-SS
I realized I forgot to add the model number which is XT1625-SS.
I've bought another moto g4 in the meantime that I'm using.
I originally went wrong by installing the SuperSU in a link from a youtube video that was a link to an older version of SuperSU.
So I know I messed up there.
But I'd like to know if there's a way to remedy it because other than my failed tinkering the hardware on the phone is perfectly ok.

Weird

I have the Galaxy A205U by metropcs and was wondering has any of y'alls recovery had 2 of them and I can get to the download mode. (Not sure how because I thought it was locked) My phone has been acting very fishy for awhile now. It's a very long story but I really wish this phone would go back to normal. I used to think it wasn't a bad phone. I'm not sure if it's doing what its doing because of the update to android 10 one ui or if its cuz someone put there own app on it. If so is there a way to use adb to find any apps that someone made and replaced the original app or how would I tell the difference in a factory app or someone loaded one on it??

Also... does anyone know anything about google play services and what all u can do with it?? And what's this firebase stuff and how do I fix it to see what these are??(3rd pic) And the OAuth to can use on google or a work profile?? I've been researching it and came across something's I dont fully understand but it kinda makes sense as to what my whole problem is. Can anybody help me with some answers to my questions?? I'm going crazy over this damn thing... Believe me if what I think is going on is actually going on I'm gonna lose it.
Recovery and download mode are locked.
Both are restricted to basic uses.
Just hit it with a factory reset and it should go back to normal, otherwise, you're out of luck.
