I'm new so be easy on me I done some hacking on my PSP and was about take a stab at my Eris I have 1.5 on it. I have searched the forum and Google it and I didn't get the answer I needed. I need to know how to downgrade back to 1.5 from 2.1 root before I upgrade. step by step would be nice or point me in the right direction Thanks
Do able, I did it somewhat by
unpacking a 1.5 rom,
Taking taking boot.img and system.img and re flashing it.
This will give you atleast at a glance stock phone, course you will still have the engineering bootloader, and the new radio firmware.
Sorry no step by step, no indepth how to. Not feeling good, not wanting "OMG U BROKE MY KNOW" messages.
Ok so no one has put up a step by step full downgrade up yet Now I got to decide if I want to upgrade to 2.1 or wait I have 2 Eris one with the 2.1 leak on it and the other 1.5 I'm not liking the 2.1 leak after upgrading my phone had lots of FC and Buggy **** happen besides the root whats so different with the 2.1 leak and the 2.1 root Thanks

my sister just got a mt3g today on tmo network. out of the box it is currently running 1.5. how long will it take to recieve an ota for 1.6 or is there something i can do to speed up the process?
You could flash cyanogen's rom for G1 or MT3G. You'd have to root though. It's a 2 step process when flashing it. You flash a 1.6 rom which he provides links for, then you flash his "update" on top of that. He has an instructional wiki about it. I had to flash a custom 1.6 rom due to the fact i had edge. I enjoyed it more than ever having the OTA update anyway.
I just had a quick question, I done a search and couldn't find the answer.
With the official 2.2 update coming soon, I was wanting to go back to a the stock rom once the 2.2 update hits, due to the fact that I need to warranty out the phone (really bad static connection problems).
My question is since I am currently running Nero v4.1 touchwiz, would I be able to simply update to the official 2.2 once the 2.2 update drops, without any problems? I'm still a little new to the flashing roms and such. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sent from my nuclear powered submarine.
Ive read some reviews about froyo on wildfire and their not good ones.
Should i upgrade?
Is it slow, does it lag, is the battery life rubbish, is text mesaging slow?
Please help,
Thanks.

Don't upgrade OTA. Root it, then push some custom rom, like cyanogenmod, together with custom kernel, and voila, you have a perfectly good smartphone
In other words if you update via updater you will get lock because oryginal froyo updates with new boatloader which will lock ur phone and u will be unable to load customs roms which in my opinion are better cuz they are faster and u can change the whole look of ur android

If you are happy with the stock ROM, and have no intentions to root, install Custom ROM's or Root only apps, go ahead and update to 2.2 OTA.
However, for best performance after update, remember to factory reset and format the SD card too.
If you intend to root (now, or in the future), stay away from the OTA.
hi how are you guys...i just bought this phone and have couple of question..first one...my software version is 2.2 is there anyway i can root the phone anybody have the instruction step by step how to root with the files which i needed...second question is when i go software update from my phone its says i have update for 2.3 gingerbread should i update it from phone or manually do it...any help will be appreciate and please reply soon...
thank you
If you are planning to root and go for custom roms etc then do not update with any official firmware. Head over to the Development forum for all you need to know on rooting, s-off, eng-off etc.
can i use visiionary tool to root or not....do i have downgrade from 2.2 to what....and then root
As mentioned above, go to Development and there you will find detailed stepbystep instructions how to downgrade first and than how to root your phone. Do not install automatic upgrade to 2.3 because it will be harder (not impossible) to root your phone (I learned it hard way after making official upgrade, but my phone is rooted and working well)
Hello, i am looking for help to find out what i need to set up/have in order to flash a custom rom.
All i have is stock G2 with the latest update, phone model is LG-D802, android version is 4.4.2 and it not rooted.
I know first off i need to root the damn thing, but if any of you could point out some kind of post or guide with some kind of step by step info of how to root and after that how to continue with a flash of rom that would be awesome.
I`ve spend some time around the forum looking for such post but couldnt find one, and i am kinda scared to do this on my own since i`ve soft bricked a lot of my old devices.

easiest method, is to use the KDZ method (huge thread on it here) to get back to jelly bean, then download towleroot. one click root.
