Hi, recently I backed up the rom on my htc touch xl and I read somewhere it takes to rebuild and that required a original rom in English but can not find any. The only thing I've seen in this versions that appear do not correspond with mine (2.20.621.1 rom in Spanish) and if it will not to do the reconstruction.
the truth I like to have the copy of my rom to install any of the so graciously made for some awkward fellow like me. And if things go wrong you can restore the rom I had before.
thanks

Hi.
I was reading this forum for a few days ago. I used to have a Trinity but now I'm waiting for a new device... a Touch Cruise (Polaris).
Reading about ROM's, RADIO, etc, I found a very interesting link in the Kaiser forum, with a list of original dumped ROM's, in some languages and think it will be great if here, we can have a data base of original ROM's and RADIO versions, to help anybody who need to get the original ROM or RADIO for the device.
I am planning to dump mine when I get my Polaris, but still a little confuse about the whole process. May be some of you with more experience cooking ROM's, cloud help me or other owners to dump and post it for help.
I think it will be great to have it, like the Trinity forum.... What do you think?
Thanks

Thanks Daze81.
I don't know why I get to this when I used the "search".
But what I mean is dumped the original Rom's that come with our Polaris. For example, mine comes from Vodafone Portugal, and I like to dump it as it comes, and if I need to put the device back to original for warranty purposes. In the links you point, some are original, but most of them are cooked ROMs, like Christonge portuguese ROM, the only one that appears in PT.
But anyway, sorry to all for open a new thread to something that already exist...
if the Moderator wants to erase this, go ahead... and sorry

Hey all,
I'm a newbie to cell phone mods, the question has probably been asked before, I searched for a couple of days but cannot find how to switch OS (WM6 pro) to English.
The phone works with Canadian sim card, just have a hardtime with French version.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
Do I need to install a new OS?
Read something somewhere about modifying Rom, but not excatly sure how to do that.
Any help would be appreciated.
I am located in Canada, HTC touch Elf comes from France.
Thx!
P.S
I have MSN & Skype, if that would be easier
Flashing you HTC Touch from French ROM to any other ROM
Hi,
If you understand French, follow the link below. It has everything you need to flash your Touch
http://win-mobile.forumpro.fr/htc-p3450-htc-touch-elf-f40/tuto-bien-flasher-son-touch-elf-et-elfin-t14638.htm
Had a French ROM when I bought my ELF, flashed to Blue Elves 5.0 without any problems, then went on to try other ROMs, just make sure you got the proper flashing procedure sorted - all in the WiKi.

I think the OP already stated they have a hard time with French.
Everything you need in terms of resources, ROMs, software etc can be found right here, on this site. All you need to do is do some reading.

Please read the stickies in the rom section, or the elf wiki. These have your answer.
You'll want to CID unlock, dump your current rom etc, and flash a WWE rom (onyx etc.) Make sure you run DSIXDAs device_Info.bat so you know what you are dealing with easier, and also to make sure if it is genuine HTC.
Thread necromancy ftl....
I bought an HTC Magic a couple of weeks ago, and yesterday I got it. But then I realized that it only has english language. I know english but I speak spanish, I have read a lot of topics but haven't found a way to put spanish into the rom (with dictionary included).
So, my question is if there is an original HTC Magic Rom with spanish language included that I can install (I know how to root and everything), I don't need a modded rom (with apps and other stuff), I'm only looking for a way to instal the original rom but multilanguage if it's possible.
Thanks in advance to everybody who read this...
PD: I've already tried to searching the forum with no succes (I couldn't find anything )...
Tahnk you everybody.
Flash a ROM.
Several customs ROM ports nowadays are multilingual...whether it's the keyboard characters, or the displayed TEXT and settings on the screen; developers have done it. You just need to find the right one.
Trust me, in fact...I have a ROM flashed on my G1 now, a HERO port from JACxHEROski that right from the get-go allows you to alter the language settings prior to continuing to setup the device. That's almost standard with most well built ROMS.
I know, but I'm looking for a rom with no customization if it's possible.
I like the customized roms, but I prefer to have one with no modifications if it's possible. But I'm unable to find one
Geetings All...
I've just got my brand new Unbranded Palm Treo Pro and it came with Windows Mobile 6.1 pt-BR and I want to update to 6.5.
As a software developer veteran the first thing I want is to do a backup of the whole thing in case of anything goes wrong.
Reading the older posts at this forum I've managed to dump the whole ROM, following the steps I've found on this thread.
Reading further I found a Kitchen along with the ROM with WM6.5 which I believe is what I want.
However, before I flash my phone I want to convert the ROM dump into something that I can flash back in case something bad happens... you never know.
How do I do this? I couldn't find among the plethora of information on this site a way to convert from the RAW files to an usable flashing mechanism.
Regards
Same question here...
I've rebuild the ROM and posted it here, but I need a brave enough person to see if the ROM is OK because I admit I'm too scared to try it myself and brick my phone.
flashing a rom wont brick your phone.
Hey guys,
hope you can help me with a problem. I flashed my X1 about a month ago to install Xkans Rom (WM6.5), but now it is totally slow and I want to reflash to the original firmware with WinMobile 6.1
I just downloaded the files of "Generic Germany R3AA007 Software Update" from the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482, but I dont know, how to install that file now, because it is a .image file. I just put it on my microSD card, but the phone couldnt find any image on it (volume-down + power button, 3 color screen)
Please help me, I am totally desperate now. If you know any other german Windows Mobile 6.5 Rom for the Xperia X1 which is faster than the one from Xkan, I would appreciate your help as well. I actually like the WinMobile 6.5, but it is so f***ing slow
Thank you so much!
Simply rename the file Kovsimg.nbh and you can flash it using the SD card method.
Thanks, seems to work
ported wm6.5 is so much slower as it contains many many more files than the original wm6.1 ones
never forget that X1 was never meant for an official wm6.5 rom (and will never be), therefore it's technical specs are lower than would be needed, thus slowing it down on ported wm6.5
there are not that many GER roms, but more than the one you named, check rom dev for the others (search GER) and have a go to compare them
enjoy
as your original request was answered I will close this thread, if follow up problems occur, pls don't open new threads in general, post in the respective rom dev threads, thx
