I'm using my HD2 with titanium plug-in but I've a problem.
I'am wondering if there is a registry tweak which takes me to the Clock Panel with a short press of the hardware home button or back button like it was on my old HD touch.
As usual thank you for your attention.

Hi all, I would like to ask how can we turn on my HD without press the power bottom. I hope just press the volume bottom to turn on the screen.
Do you mean wake up from sleep or turn on from power off?
Yes, it's very simple : get out the stylus and *voila*, your HD is ready to work

How do you do this in practice? Some kind of regedit tool?

Yes you need a tool to edit the registry.
There are free one's you can download (Google pocketpc registry editor) but I use the one that comes with Resco Explorer.

Sorry, found the way.
wouldnt it be usefull to somehow use the gsensor to wake it? Like shaking.
Your talking, the screen goes black, you need to see the screen and shakes it hard 2 times right in the middle of conversation.
Would it be possible?

Turn on using "Home"

Miland, any ideas on how HTC control the hardware 'Home button' in the registry? I've been wading through for hours trying to find something as I want to do something similar and "unbind" the key. I previously used AEButtonPlus, but the Home key isn't in the list of configurable buttons on that application, I've emailled the author obviously.
So I thought a brute force approach of changing the registry entry would be the way, but finding it isn't easy!

Thanks! It works perfect.
Now the power button use is minimal
Hi All,
Is there any small application, which can simulate I press the power button?
Because the power button is hard to press, I wish to add a shortcut to this application, and tap the screen instead.
I found some which is to turn off the screen only, but I want to put the machine in suspend mode just like press the power button.
Thanks.

Thats not true, you are pressing the button in the wrong way .
Read this.
If you really want a application that can suspend your device look for psShutXp or iLauncher. I think there are really many applications able to do that.
sure there are tons of applications for pocketpc which when started turn off the pda
http://www.google.dk/search?source=...off+program&btnG=Google-søgning&meta=lr=&aq=f
used a few of them myself works just fine
Haa......I also read this post before, I knew how to press the power button correctly......
To be more precise, I don't want to press the power button frequently in order to protect it from damage.

Hi,
How do you change the soft key to this exe.
And can this exe be used to wake up the device by tapping on the screen.
Thanks
You can modify it by changing registry
\HKLM\Software\HTM\Manila\HomeLSK* and HomeRSK* values.
I think a hardware trigger is needed if you want to wake up the device.
To wake up by tapping on the screen, the device cannot be in suspend mode then, just the screen is off.

Guys,
Just taken delivery of my first Android handset - nice to be back on here, spent years on here when I ran WM! Anyway, I've been looking for and haven't found an app that'll let me wake the phone by pressing any button, rather than just the power button. Seen stuff for WM, but not Android.
Can anyone help?

to be honest having used the htc hero I was always getting frustrated cause everytime I took out the phone from my pocket I found it had unlocked cause the minute you pressed any of the home search , menu buttons the phone would unlock and it could then even make unwanted phone calls but as for the desire it only wakes when u press the power button which I think is great just my own opinion.
Try this one on the market :
http://apps.doubletwist.com/No-Lock/-2216879159323801559
When you'll hit any key, no more "slide to unlock", phoen wake up direct to home screen
Having used the HD2 I too miss this feature. Not necessarily pressing a key to unlock the device, but simply to bring up the 'drag down to unlock' screen.

Here is this one also - http://apps.doubletwist.com/Screen-ON-widget/6251491150679267019
These 2 apps replace the need to "slide-to-unlock", but wouldn't you still have to press down the "power" button to actually turn on the screen?
I too have found this a little annoying. I think this may be a feature that can be changed once rooting of the phone starts.
Sort of like re-mapping the hardware buttons to where all you have to do is hit the trackpad or MENU button to activate the screen.
Application like this?
http://apps.doubletwist.com/HeroKey-(root)/1990841848356448722
No this would be interesting to possibly get for the Desire. Allows you to remap the hardware buttons. Too bad it is -
1 - For the Hero
2 - Requires root
After pressing the power key, mine unlocks by pressing just the menu button as well, FWIW.

For now i've installed MyLock. It removes the lockscreen completely. Now i just press power once.

that's a bonus, thanks.
what would be even nicer would be if the screen woke up (to lockscreen is fine) on a press of any hardware button. guess it'll need root.
just figured out how i am using 2 programs one is nolock and seccond is Widget Locker. nolock wakes up the phone with any key and by default unlocks the phone BUT if you have Widget Locker installed it prevents from unlocking so that way you have your phone with any-button wake and still locked, tested with my LG 2x ,first app is lightweight and dont consume much battery.. i dont know if i made my self clear im italian email me if you want the link or any question

Hi all,
is there a way to wake up the screen by double tapping the home button instead of pushing the on/off button?
many thanks
I dont think it is possible. That is like to tell a person to wake up in his dream.

Do you can?
Hello everyone.
Last time my touchscreen stopped working. I figured out that every time i use 'end call key' my touch screen is not responding.
Question : Is it possible to switch key fundions? I mean... for example i want to make 'home' key my 'end call key' and vice versa. And if it is possible then how i can do it?
Check out Button Savior. I don't know about remapping hardware keys but this can give you software controls to get around it. There are also a tonne of screen lock widgets that could work, and some ROMs even have it built into quick settings on the notification drawer or the softkeys on ICS+ ROMs.

There used to be an app called button remapper on the play store but I can't find it now!!
Well anyway you can change the button mappings by editing the kepad layout file in /system/usr/keylayout/ folder.
Their will be a few their so you will have to figure out which one to edit for your rom.
Mine is htcleo_keypad.kl.
You will need a root explorer to do this, just open with a text editor!
Make sure to write down the mappings before starting then you can swap them about.
I am not sure but I think the power button isn't changeble but you can assign power to another key.
Ah, I was wondering if I had just gone crazy because I thought I remembered an app by that name but I couldn't find it.
