[REQ] HTC MEGA HSPL Done. Custom ROMs? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi, I'm requesting any cooks interested in creating custom ROMs for the mega to start cooking. HSPL is done and we are patiently awaiting the custom ROMs.
As usual, donations will be made, not least by me but by every grateful Mega owner on XDA.
I'm looking forward to using WM 6.5.3 on my little Mega.
[in before someone points me to the Mega rom development forum]

Me too!!!

Yeah, we are in need of 6.5.3 ROMs with bottom start menu, and if possible with Sense UI (or at least parts of it which can work on mega)

yes please, i will definitely donate if there are some quality roms

Official 6.5.x

Hi.
Is there any official/stock WM 6.5.x for HTC Leo?
I've seen those cooked "home-made" ROMs but I want it "stock" just so I can install it on my Leo.
Thanks in advance!

The short answer is "no".
There is no stock ROM for the HD2 that runs WM6.5.X. If you want to have this OS on your phone you will have no choice to run one of the many custom ROMS or build your own. At least for now..
Hmm, thanks for the fast answer
I hope the stock version will be available soon, or will it?
Rather sad that we haven't got one yet.
It has been out since Oct 09.
I looked through 3-4 pages here, but most of the cookers have changed most of the icons added and removed stuff. I don't link this kind of things, so I'm staying with 6.5 :/
I hope 6.5.x STOCK come out for Leo soon!

Hello dude!
You like the "stock ROM philosopy" right?!
So take a look on Artemis Project, from sir Sternas: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612580
In my opinion is the most close to Stock ROMS for now and ever!
The roms uses the newest packages from HTC and latest WindowsMobile builds.
And the best of all, is fast and stable!
Sir Sternas does not change icons or includes modifications on his work, he let the user chose it!
Cheers!

The softkey bar in Artemis is ugly though.
go for this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699724
if you want a truly complete stock look
Digao is correct, Artemis is the more close to stock.
Also the softkey bar is the STOCK 6.5.X.
If you want nicer buttons or icons, you can always add them.
They are simple cabs (btw Artemis includes many themes to choose for the buttons).
John, NRG makes great ROMs but faaaaaaaaaaaaaar from stock philosophy.
It is not what Tunay asked.

NRGZ has started reference ROms which are close to stock roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699724
if you are looking stock look i have to say there are a few to consider.
one of the closer ones is Dutty's, Miri also had a stock look last time i looked.
i ended up making my own though as they wern't quite what i wanted
there are plenty of tutorials and pre stocked kitchen options if you want to try and there are plenty of people who would help if you get stuck
regards
Chris

Why don't you want to run one of the cooked roms? There are so many available I can't see at least one catering for your taste.
You will never see 6.5.x on the Leo in an official capacity.
With respect to all ROM chefs, I don't use Sense and therefore there is no need to have it even loaded. Pure WM and nothing extra.
Someone mentioned that there is the 6.5 stock, I couldn't find it, anyone with any reference to it?
Thank you

That makes no sense (excuse the pun) as there are numerous cooked roms without Sense included to free up extra memory. There are no stock Leo roms that can say the same to my knowledge - they all include it.
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general

EnergyROM "LEO" With Sense 2.5 & MAX Manila By NRGZ28 for HTC Touch2 or Mega

EnergyROM "LEO" With Sense 2.5 & MAX Manila By NRGZ28 for HTC Touch2 or Mega
Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. I wanted to ask (if possible) if any cook could make me a ROM or change, or to tell me how to do the ROM: EnergyROM "LEO" With Sense 2.5 & MAX Manila By NRGZ28 for HTC Touch2 or Mega. Thanks to all for your support and I hope I can be content. Bye
PS: To see the ROM type on Google: dual boot Android & Windows Mobile - HTC Touch Pro 2.
Your wish is understandable but Mega simply does not have what it takes to run such a Rom. My suggestion would be to look at the Roms which are available now in the forum and perhaps Android will come around the corner soon.....

Sorry, but I am not gonna release my Kitchen. As I said, IF in the future I have more time, I will release a ROM.
can you post a tutorial to build a rom for our acer s200
You can find everything what you need for cooking here on forum - rafivitto's tutorial for Manila cooking and Stefanos tutorial for OSBuilder.

[Q] how to recook a cooked rom? Maybe its a stupid question...

Is it possible to take a cooked rom (Energy, Mozart etc. a.e. for htc topaz), load in a kitchen, remove apps that don't work, themes and so on and export as a new custom rom? Is there a specific kitchen to do that?
I'm a newbie with a legacy device (HTC Topaz) and see that the roms with updated packages and kernel are made by chefs that do not have the device for testing so there are a few bugs and old apps that have to be removed but these chefs are mass cookers, they have there lives and don't have time to stand behing theyr dishes, especially for those that differ from theyr native language.
My intentio was to load a Energy Rom in Italian with cht, remove all themes, unworking and useless apps (or to solve some bugs) etc.
Thanks
sb
This has been asked a billion times; you can dump a cooked rom with micro-kitchen, and re-cook it somewhat. You'll need to figure out how to set the kitchen up for your device, if you decide to use it. Da_G says that the kitchen will re-base modules without the reloc sections; others disagree-I've never done it myself. If you're just removing stuff, the kitchen should work fine, but you'll have to know what to remove. Someone will post shortly and say that you can't re-cook cooked roms. It isn't true. Gsleon3 has re-cooked roms, I guess mostly to lighten them up. Here's one of his threads.
hi
can any one help me with this?

some cooked rom does not make da sys folder why?

How can i Port Htc Salsa Sense to Froyo? and cook Rom For Hero?

hello I m free nowaday so want to learn some porting and cooking Roms btw I m noways developer if any one guides me would surely appreciate it!!
and is it possible to port salsa sense on froyo?
Ok, let's learn porting and cooking roms.
1. check this tutorial.
2. post in the right section.
3. look here.
4. say thanks.
or, download salsasense by JieeHD which is a mature powerful stable rom already running on the hero and make modifications from there.
since, technically, you can't actually "build" android when many parts of the OS have been removed and replaced with precompiled executable code by HTC, as is the case with that rom.
but still, if you want to modify a rom, and give credit to the original author, for sense roms it is much easier to start with someone else's hard work than to do it all from scratch yourself.
but for learning, I admire your interest. Hopefully you can become a strong dev for the hero!
