Galatea Engine AD's Samples on Adroid devices - Android Software Development

Hi, I'm TomatoWAX.
Today I'd like to introduce Galatea Engine AD's Sample, Rotating Donut. I runned this sample on my Odroid device and I captured it. The sample simply render a 3D small donut and donut will be rotating. This sample render the donut twice to make it shown like Cartoon Style. Galatea Engine AD use Android NDK/JNI to render 3D polygons. You can use the 3D APIs of OpenGL|ES with Android NDK.
About the Odroid device, this device was made by Korean company, HardKernel. You can just buy it from there website and it is not bad to develop Android applications. BTW this device supports TV-Output function and it's so great to developers. I just did make the sample movie with this function. And I'll upload more movies which are filmed our new game, Run Kattie, with this function, TV-Ouput! Just watch it and see how Odroid shows the applications with TV.

Animated Tiny on Droid Device
Hello, I'm TomatoWAX again.
I want to introduce one more sample, Animated Tiny on Droid Device, for Galatea Engine AD. I just made this sample yesterday for the demonstration of Galatea Engine AD and I wanted to know the specifications of Droid Device. Developing was simply finished but there is one little bug. I think it's not a kind of bug, but just the limitation of polygons. If you have a idea for it, please let me know. Anyway I'll figure out this problem and I'll fix it.
And you know what? At this time, Galatea Engine WM Library is just for FREE for everyone. You can simply start developing on Windows Mobile and your applications will support also Android too! Because our Galatea Engine AD supports Android NDK/JNI and it makes your applications also can be runnable on Android device simply. This is one of benefits of Android NDK/JNI and it's so great for everyone.

The application mockup is done in JavaME. The UI engine powering all the animation is from UK's Tricastmedia - TWUIK
Not enough? Lots' more videos showing prolished GUI created with TWUIK here -> TWUIK UI midlet demos. See Nokia Widsets and Yahoo! GO UI mockup developed using TWUIK.
Wow...that GUI looks nice. Very interesting. Does anyone think something similair can be created for the java machine on our PPCs?
where do u download it
that looks pretty cool... as ive read you not going to be publishing this? am i correct? would really like to try it out on my TyTN
If they're not gonna release that, then why show it off?
On J2ME? But why? A bigger memory hog?
I dont think this can be used on a pocket pc, since it's not java oriented.
S60 will work.
J2ME to make it work with most MObile (ppc included)
hamoda-t: notice that you need a touchscreen, which not all mobiles have, in fact only few do.
I don't remember Nokia being tactile? (but I don't follow Nokia scene development).
And Windows Mobile has a built in Java virtual machine....
Hi,
Tricastmedia has WM5/6 compatibility for TWUIK, so... It can run without problems since TWUIK is cross platform, using Java or native PPC code or any other supported platform. Read @ Tricastmedia page.

Taguapire.

Have you tried SubliMobi RSS Reader (http://www.sublimobi.com) ? It
works on my mobile and it's free.

Has anyone else seen this UI?

The enabling UI technology was Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). With WPF we could rapidly build something that looks a lot like iPhone in a very short time. I was playing the dual role of a Designer + Developer and tools like Blend and Design greatly helped in skinning the app. Below you can see a bunch of screenshots and a short video of accepting a call.
Notification received. You can talk, IM or just ignore.

How was it built?
* Blend and Design were used for creating the skin of the app. The XAML UI was created in Blend and the graphics were developed in Design. I had made a post earlier about how the icons for the app were created in Design.
* The GlassWindow control was used for creating the window chrome.
* Although you cannot see in the screenshots above, the Drag 'n' Drop library was also used
* I missed out using the ElementFlow, but that can be easily added. I only need to find a business case for that
This example only goes to show how powerful WPF can be. With greater tool support from Blend + Design, lot can be achieved in a far lesser time. Now until I get my own iPhone, I will continue to use the WPF version
Didnt know you could get WPF on win mobile, would be nice to see it used to do something other than clone the iPhone though
iPhone is overrated. It was a fad, we dressed our pdas up for a while, but its tiring. I feel for iPhone owners who actually have to deal with it everyday.
If you look on the link you provided in your first post, you'll see a video that shows this is not running on a mobile but on a desktop. WPF is a component of Vista, and the app probably runs in an emulator of some kind (you can see a mouse cursor in the vid).

Hi, I'm a student in Queensland University of Technology at Australia. I'm developing a Sudoku game for Windows Mobile 6 Professional with WVGA resolution, I have a SE Xperia X1 but I need your help!!!
This is my second attempt in developing Windows Mobile application, last time it was a big failure, but this time I've put a lot of effort in this application in order to make it very graphical appealing, use-able, and powerful, y'know this is very hard in WinMo platform, either it will crash or it will take too much memory/processes to run it.
I've used smallest amount of custom build controls to make this happen in qSudoku, I want to make it user friendly, finger friendly, apply the concept of "a screen full of content", and graphically appealing. So far I've only tested it myself and I want to know what do you guys think
Please go to Faculty Of Geek for more information about this application (or me )
Email ([email protected]) to me if you want to provide feedback or just anything
(Download links at the bottom)
Current features:
Four levels to choose from (easy, medium, hard, insane!).
Load and save.
Multiple numbers in one square.
Clear all numbers in one square at once.
Check numbers in all square. (that's where the red 'x' appears )
Hint
Show solution
Check answer (the 'All Done!' button)
It's full screen
In this version.....
Only 6 puzzles available.
No settings available.
New Game and Load Game buttons will take few seconds to respond (which is obviously not good).
Will expire on 15 May, 2009
Has no icon and sounds :-(
In future versions.....
Will improve memory management
Will provide option to turn off full screen
Will make the application more responsive
Will support more screen resolution
Will support non-touch screen device
Will make the hint not so 'obvious' (you'll know why once you play it

Show off your DEX desktop... and share hits, tips, usefull apps, sollutions...

Hi there folks!
At bottom you see my desktop from dex, i have fullHD samsung TV to work with dex, i wish to have better screen resolution but you know, money, money, money.... In nearest future i will buy desktop monitor and attach all cables and stuff to it. But later, ofcorse, i will share my setup.
I have few apps as you see, i use samsung internet browser for facebook due to it`s desktop mode that is best for dex, chrome`s facebook experience is not good, and samsung`s version is just like normal pc feel like facebook. So i have shortcut there. And for writing - for now i have open office port but this makes me angry due to spell checking, I`m writing native in Polish but i want to write also in english without mistakes and that open office port is just more problems that benefits. Also i have camera roll gallery app but also - to change because of lacking 360 photos view, any ideas?I had quicpic but i read that newest version is somehow buggy and this pink fonts... nope.
Rest of apps is just normal, and i cant find any other usefull apps to use with dex for now, i`ve try to connect my two hard drives to dex but it`s just not working like i want it to. What is funny - i have tv android box and this peace of cheap dung works normally with both hard drives... I`ve try different ntfs mounter sollutions but everytime - failure.
For now i feel like DEX is not developing anyhow, no updates, no new functions... i hope that this is no project like bada os project, i hope that this would be developed in future.
So, what is your ideas, apps, tricks and tips for DEX? How your DEX screen looks like?
