AudioManager_Eng.exe - Imagio General

First off...I really have searched and haven't found my exact issue. So...my husband is on his 3RD Imagio!!!! the first one started with the "A problem has occurred with audiomanager_eng.exe" 2 days after we got it!! so since tech support from Verizon & HTC couldn't help,Verizon exchanged it for another Imagio. The second Imagio went for about a week before the error and tech support(from Verizon AND HTC) suggested, before letting us fully explain, that we should do a hard reset;so we did that and it took all of a few hours before the error came back!!! Now we're on our 3rd Imagio and that error didn't come up at first but...music would only play for a few seconds before stopping until...I,just playing around, deleted the folder titled "ART" from within the Music folder on the SD card. that worked for 2 days and then tonight my husband calls me and tells me that not only is the music stopping but it's also coming up with the audiomanager_eng.exe error now!!! Oh,the SD card we had in the 2 Imagios before was 16GB and after tech support suggested we reformat it,it still had the error on both phones!! After we got the 3rd Imagio, and we had the same problem, both HTC and Verizon suddenly said "Try a smaller card" so we tried the 8GB we have and, like I said earlier,it worked for a few days;however, now not only is the music stopping but...the audiomanager_eng.exe error is back!!! WHAT THE HE**?!? What do we do? Can the Imagio not handle a 16GB card? That's not really the issue for my husband as he doesn't mind a smaller card if we could just get the music to play AND not have that error come up!! We also don't want to have to do another hard reset and my husband doesn't like Windows Media Player(tried using after suggested by tech support) because, while it plays the music(although only sporadically),it keeps saying "buffering" while trying to play a song!! I think both HTC and Verizon have their heads in the sand because both of their support said they had not heard of this issue when I first called!! If this helps, the ROM version is 1.08.605.11 and the ROM date is 09/05/09. PLEASE help!!!

Hi
The Imagio can handle not only 16GB SD cards, but 32GB cards as well (when they are available). I have an Imagio too and regularly use it for music and audio books, which approach 50MB in size each - without problems. Since you have not mentioned using 3rd party apps I'm assuming your using the built-in media player and are not using unsupported file types or codecs.
From your issues it sounds like the problem is related to either your SD card or audio files - or both, as that is more likely than the same issue happening repeatedly with 3 different Imagios running stock media player.
Try this:
Format your SD card as FAT32 (don't use Quick Format), this will mark any bad sectors on the card as unusable so files will not be stored in them.
Re-sync your audio files to the card from your original source.
For good measure, use a card reader and access the card from a computer. Use the computer disk management tools to run error checking on the card contents with the option set to automatically fix any errors found. This should catch any file corruption issues you may have with your media content.
Good luck!

You can always upgrade to the latest Rom v3.04. It is available from the support page on Verizons site which points you to the PCDPhones website.

8GB MicroSD and Audio Manager Problems

Hi All
Happy New Year
OK, so I'm happy, I have just received my 8GB Micro SD card in the mail. I popped it in the phone, and my Touch remained happy.
There is a problem though
I use Audio Manager and have put about 1400 songs on my 8GB card so far, to take up around 5GB of the storage.
But, I can't see all my songs in Audio Manager.
When I go to the library, the rotating magnifying/search glass is always working, and it is only showing about half of my songs.
I also went into WM player on the phone, and update the library, and it too doesn't show all the songs either, although It does show about 900 of them.
Anyone know what is going on, or how to rectify this?
There is also another problem too...I thought I would upgrade Audio Manager from ver 1.02.409.721 to ver 1.02.919.713, so I uninstalled the old version, rebooted and installed the 'new' version, rebooted and went to check the 'about' page, only to see I'm still running ver 1.02.419.721.
It's really annoying not to be able to use the full 8GB capacity to load songs onto my phone so far and not to be able to get the latest AM version on my phone too!
I have an 11 hour and a 2 hour flight on Tuesday from England to USA, and I'd really like to be able to have access to 8GB of songs!

I would also like to know if anyone has had this problem since I was thinking about getting an 8gb card also. Someone help this guy out!
From what I've read, I believe it only registers up to 4 gb of space on the card. I may be wrong.

I don't think that is right because I've heard people testify that their 6gb cards work perfectly. But then again maybe those people are lying lol jk
i have a 4GB on mine and it also just recognizes some of my songs....any one have a solution for this.....thnx
From what I have read, all specs say that it can only recognize 4gb. But that is for microSD. Besides a few companies that have made 6gb microSD cards, anything past 4gb is usually microSDHC. I was also looking at getting a 8gb card, but I read that you need to have a microSDHC compatible device. So I'm not sure if that might be the problem, but I can't find anywhere that says that microSDHC is supported by the touch. And also there are some microSDHC 4gb cards, so that might be the issue for Ostthug2k. Check to say if it says that on the card and if not check the manufacturers website to see if it is a microSDHC instead of microSD. So I think the problem just might between have those two types. That would explain the 6gb card working because some of those are microSD and some are microSDHC. (The HC is "high capacity" by the way I think) Maybe I'm wrong about all of that, but I think its worth it to look into.

I also have an 8gb card which my touch recognized with no problems. It is SDHC compliant so you shouldn't have a problem with 8gb. I only have 974 songs on there at the moment but WMP handles that without a problem. You may have to delete your old library and force it to rescan if it's giving you a problem. I'll wipe my card and fill it up to the brim with all music to see if there's some physical limit and report back later today.
Link the new version of audio manager you have and I'll try that too. I never bothered with it before since WMP has always worked for me.

Hi
I went in and deleted the library but it still only picks up a limited number of songs.
What is also annoying is that Audio Manager is constantly 'searching' for songs in the library (the rotating magnifying glass) and that seems to be draining my battery faster too!
Arghh
I can't understand why loads of other people aren't finding this out... Is it because not many people have the 8GB MicroSD card yet?

I put just under 2000 songs and WMP found them just find. Searching was amazinly slow, but it still worked.
Post the cab for the version of Audio Manager you're using or that you wanna use and i'll give it a try.
itune rip
i noticed that the cd that i ripped using itunes does not show up. others are fine, except for those.
what I have noticed is it recognizes mp3 files well but has trouble picking up m4a files. make sure that when you ripped the cd in itunes that you did it in mp3 format instead of m4a
i have a 2g card and at first it would only let me store about 120 mp3s. i formatted it on my pc and after that i could fill the whole card.
Had the same problem using Audio Manager / 8Gb microsd / itunes.
The solution I found :
- Only use .mp3 files (all other are not correctly recognized)
- Use itunes or another mp3 tool to clean all ID3 Tags in mp3 files. Audio Manager do not handle very well ID3 tags that are not well formatted or that contains non ASCII charcaters
Now I have 1600 songs with Audio Manager, and no more a mooving magnify tool (it mooves only on the first launch of audio manager and the stops after few minutes)
I have 1 4GB SDHC card loaded, however I don't use Audio Manager b/c I didn't like the way it alphabetized everything opposed to using track listing as well as not being touch sensitive except for the scroll bar. Additionally, 8GB card will have a lot of info on it so you should expect it to have search for a bit to compile a list and alphabetize itself. I use S2P with no problem plus full screen album art etc...
There are more recent versions of AudioManager that scroll properly and sort by track. I use it now on an 8GB card and it works just fine.

[Q] Music Transfer Problems

I purchased a Samsung GT-I5801 Android phone and a 32GB micro sdhc card. My goal was to use it as a smart phone and an mp3 player; essentially as an iphone at a fraction of the price. The phone works great and the android apps are fun, but the mp3 player functionality has eluded me. I have about 20GB of music and I can’t get it onto the card and/or into the phone.
I have tried transferring the data directly onto the card in two different laptops (both running windows xp sp3-hotfixed to recognize high capacity sdhc cards). Both computers can see the cards and recognize them as 32GB cards. I can transfer files back and forth from the card. I have used windows explorer to transfer the files as well as other programs: Windows Media Player, Media Monkey, FreeFileSync, Doubletwist, Winamp, and Samsung Keis.
I have also tried transferring the music to the phone with the card installed in the phone. I have tried this via all the above programs, including wirelessly transferring via Winamp. The process either stops and/or fails unexpectedly (twice producing the blue screen of death) or appears to complete successfully but turns out to only produce 2GB of music on the card while showing 20GB of space used on the card. The entire file structure for the music files is there but most of the files are empty even though the transfer process shows that they should be there. Then, when I remove and install the card again, the 18GB of space is freed up again to show that only 2GB (or less) of music is there. It is not always the same 2GB of music either. It seems random as to what files are transferred.
I have done a factory reset on the phone twice to make sure that it’s not the corrupted music database on the phone that is preventing all the music being recognized. I have also reformatted the card 3 times during this process. I have tried the following usb connections settings options in the phone: Keis, media player, and mass storage. I have also tried with usb debugging turned on and turned off.
I have a couple of questions:
1- Has anyone else had similar problems and how did you solve it?
2- Is there a maximum file limit per directory, or for music in general?
I’m at the end of my rope here, and am starting to wonder if the money I’ve saved by not buying an Iphone is worth the time and aggravation of this process. I have never posted a question on a tech forum before, but I’m desperate after spending a couple of weeks trying to solve this on my own.
you laptops sd reader is not sdhc Compatibility
try format card in you phone

is the card working on your friends phone? you must have atleast one guy who has a mobile which supports 32 gb card transfer all the music you want and see if all songs are detected in that mobile or not, if not your memory card is defective otherwise there is problem in your mobile.
Thank you for your reply. According to the specs on my netbook (Samsung NP-NC10) the reader is sdhc compatible. I have ordered an usb sdhc card reader to test the theory. I'll let you know how that works. I have formatted the card at least 3 times in my phone and have tried to transfer files with the card installed in my phone via the supplied usb connection cable. I have the same results.
Am I right in assuming that if my phone and sdhc card are working properly then I should have no problems transferring a large amount of music?
Has anyone else transfered 20GB of music to their Android and had success using it as an mp3 player?
have you test your 32gb sd card is real 32gb?
try hdtune or other tools like in windows ,or try full format in windows ?
if windows is hang ,over 2gb is can't read and write ...
i think you sd is fake card ..
Thank you for your suggestion to use hdtune. I tested my card with hdtune pro and it is a 32gb card that is healthy and has no errors.
I guess this means that I have a bad mobile? I wonder about transfering all my files again and then trying a factory reset on the phone.
I have not considered rooting the phone as I am new to this, but would that be a potential solution for this problem?
is in hdtune error scan ,full scan 32gb is not error?
sd card and card reader in phone is very Weak..
Update on progress
I have now checked the card using hdtune and reformatted it twice. hdtune detected no errors at any time.
I also purchased a usb sdhc card reader specifically. Just in case my built in readers were malfunctioning, but that has not solved the problem either.
I can transfer the files to the card. I can even read and access the files on the card on my computer. However, when I put the card into the phone, but files are not there, and the file folders are empty. Then, when I put the card back into my computer the files are gone.
I found this link on another forum with the same problem. While it is comforting to know that I am not the only one with this problem, I am still looking for a solution. Has anyone found one?
Found the problem!
I downloaded the H2test and used it to test my card. hdtune and windows did not discover the problems with the card, but this program did.
Apparently I purchased a 2gb card that was labeled as a 32gb card. The packaging and printing on the card all look like a legitimate Kingston class 4 32 gb sd card, but the actual card only has 2 gb capacity.
Apparently, the card tricked my windows computers by writing an index for all of the files I was transferring but only actually transferring up to 2 gb of data. That is why I could read some of the files on my phone, but not others.
If you are having similar problems, I would highly recommend this program!
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/H2testw.shtml
Thanks to all who tried to help me, your suggestions were very helpful!
so the card is fake 32gb but only have 2gb.why hdtune error full scan can not find it?

[Q] Copy error to storage card

Using an HD mini, latest ROM 1.36.401.1 fitted with a 32GB memory card.
Phone syncs fine and I can copy files to the storage card using activesync but as this is very slow with larger files I've tried to use the disk drive mode.
Problem is that the file starts to copy and after a few minutes of transfer I get the error message "The Parameter is incorrect" After this I have to disconnect the phone and reconnect to be able to try again.
It was one of the reasons I bought the phone and added the memory was to be able to load on some video to watch. I use it for music files and sysnc these using media monkey with no problems at all.
Any idea's....?
I checked the HTC site but found nothing, I've also formatted the card in the phone in case it didn't like it being formatted in the PC.
I use a Sandisk 8GB Class 2 SDHC card, never experienced that kind of problem. But I have to say I never tried any files larger than around 1 GB.
What brand do you have? And how big are the files?
The card is unbranded and the video files are 80 - 170MB. I have some other cards so I can try one of them to see if this fixes the issue.
might be the usb data cable ,have you tryed another microusb cable ? or try to load files to microsd using sd-(usb)adapter and see if you still have this error
I tried another cable but the same thing. I've also tried a 1GB Sandisk card as well and that runs with no problems. This unbranded card claims SDHC but maybe it's not high enough quality for the HTC. Wouldn't be the first time a product rejects a certain media.
I've actually just ordered a new Sandisk 16GB class 4 card to try that one out. Should have it early next week and will report back what happens.
Ok, I think if you run a checkdisk on the 32GB card it will report errors. It could be a cheap clone from China, which are known to have quality issues.

Ordered from eBay but a supplier that sells them in original packaging plus gives a guarantee that they are originals.
So received a new 16GB card today, fitted to the phone, copied over some files, so far so good. But then TCPMP would not read the video files saying the MP3 codec is invalid and the other thing I notice is that the storage card is now called Card2. In explorer from the PC it shows two storage cards as:-
Storage card
Storage card2
I seem to be going backwards, powered the phone off/on numerous times, also with the card removed, reformated the card but can't stop it from seeing the card as card2.
Getting so pi$$ed off with this now.
OK a quick update, I fitted the original 1GB card, the phone recognised this as the first storage card and the card2 reference disappeared. I fitted the new 16GB one and all back to normal no card2 issue.
What I don't understand is how it happened and what changed it back. As I intend to load TomTom onto the card the last thing I want is this happening again in the middle of driving.
Never heard of this problem before. Can't think of a cause, maybe something with partitions on your SD card?

Galaxy S3 exFAT support removed Build BVALF4

Hi Guys and Girls
Just a bit of info for any of those having problems with 32 or 64GB cards in their S3 post upgrade to
Baseband I9300BVLF2
Build IMM76D.I9300BVALF4
Basically after a week of speaking to Orange and then Samsung (Orange even sent me a new handset as they couldn't explain it) I've found out that Samsung in their Wisdom have removed ExFAT support from the new Firmware.
They are apparently looking into it but for now recomend formatting your card to FAT32 as this is still supported.
At work right now so haven't tried it myself but will as soon as I get in and post results (if anyone else can let us know)
What the hell are they thinking?!
This would be a dealbreaker for me. Its the only reason im not using cm10 yet.
We need to get away for this fat32 nonsense with its useless 4gb file size limit.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium

That'the one they have just released on Kies.
To be fair i though this issue was down to me rooting so will prob now root again now i know it's not that.
The guy at Samsung support said he couldn't understand why either but they have it as an action point to sort out as they were getting a lot of calls about it.

I'm using LG8 and it's fine on there.
Another accidental removal :silly: exFAT is accepted by pretty much everyone to be validly patented by Microsoft, so to ship it in the first place Samsung obviously had a licence.
Would ext4 work? I know it'd be a pain to format to with Windows or Mac, but gets around 4GB file limit.
When connected in MTP mode the phone should do the "translation" so the desktop OS wouldn't need to handle the filesystem (I think, but I could be wrong). Doubt there's much danger of ext* support disappearing.
I just registered to say this but I'm also in the same boat. I noticed that orange had modified the ICS firmware to remove the update so while I was in London I went into the Samsung store in the Olympic park. I told them the situation and they said they could update the firmware there and then, 2 hours later after I left with a phone that no longer supported my 64GB microSD card and my widgets still popped in on the phone.
I was wondering if I could get an opinion on whether I should roll back the firmware by flashing the phone or try and complain to orange and get a new handset (although it's past their grace period and are unlikely to do so). Just to reiterate stay away from the Samsung store in Olympic park, all but one of the staff where extremely un-organised, dim witted and more interested in looting freebies from the store than actually helping me.
I would also consider using a custom ROM but as this is a relatively new device I'm unsure if this would be best suited to getting the best out of my phone.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Ok, I'm now on the VLG1 official Orange firmware and I re-formatted my 64GB SanDisk SDXC card as exFAT, put all my stuff back on (including a new .mkv over 4GB just to test) and it now works perfectly in my S3 (the 5.5GB mkv files plays fine, but with no audio although since it's a DTS audio codec used in the movie, I suspect this is a different issue).
So it seems they re-enabled exFAT support in VLG1...
Could someone tell me if exfat works in a S3 with I9300UBLG2?
Well, it does "work", but it's nowhere near reliable.
So far, my experience with exfat has been awful with Sandisk's 64GB SDXC card. There were some serious issues with a lot of music files that weren't visible to the phone. The files were copied ok in there when I used my SD card adapter and the total filesize matched perfectly to the original folder that I copied them from. So, when I inserted that card into my phone, I was suddenly unable see more than 70% of the files. I repeated the copying proccess few times and the result was exactly same every time: same files ended up missing in my phone.
I was also quite surprised when I replugged the card into my sdcard adapter: those same files were now missing from the card in my pc too. The card however did report exactly same amount of available space that it did when I first copied the files. When I tried to copy those missing files again on my card, it asked me whether I would like to overwrite those files? But those files can't be there since none of my devices see them!
After doing some research, I found out that this is actually a known problem, at least with Samsung's phones, and that those files weren't actually missing. They are still there, but something on Sammy's firmware is breaking something with a certain filenames/folder structures and makes them seem like they don't exists at all. At this point I just gave up and reformated my sdcard into fat32 with fat32format (the default Windows format program doesn't format cards with that size as fat32), copied my files again and now my phone was also able to see all my files.
So no, I wouldn't recommend using exfat with Samsung's phones since their implementation seems to be somewhat broken and due to the fact that CM10 wouldn't work with it anyway if I would eventually decide to move on it.

I purchased my S3 because of Exfat support and have used an genuine Sandisk 64GB SDXC card in it for a long time now; I've have had zero problems with missing files, are you sure your adapter isn't faulty?
I know that after upgrading the firmware, Samsung removes/messed with the exfat support. So I'd like to know which firmwares have support to exfat.
The S3 I have is UBLG2 and I'm intended to buy a micro SD 64gb class 10 (or class 6).
No fat32 'cause I have files bigger than 4gb

Sd card sync problem

Hello everyone
I m having serious trouble with my new 64gb Sandisk Ultra SDXC card in my Galaxy S5
I had a 32gb Kingston, an HDSC card, which i synced with itunes using tunesync or something, without any trouble.
I have ever since been using Jriver and Media Monkey for music.
So when i tried touse them to sync to my new Sd Card i kept having problems. Meaning, even when the process completed without errors, the phone didn't behave normaly.
It wouldn't properly recognize it anymore and when i rebooted it started checking for errors. When after some minutes it completed, it was working perfectly BUT whereas i had left a 1 Gb free space before it now showed me that it had a 55-56 gb free space!!! I went into the Music folder created by MEdia Monkey and Jriver, i formated and used both from scratch, it had all the folders, in a structure of Artist - Album, but only the folders up until B or C had music files in them!!! Whereas the media players and windows explorer showed me that the transer of all the files was successful, meaning they all showed 1gb free space before i rebooted the phone.
I went on to using the card reader of my brothers laptop, and used SDFormater to Format the card successfully. I suspected a faulty card so i also used the Overwrite Erase option that basically writes in all the sectors of the card. It naturally took a lot of time but finished WITHOUT ANY ERRORS. So i tried to sync it through the card reader, using media monkey and my portable library, in a portable hard disk so it was easy. Once again the SAME THING HAPPENED.
I also tried formating it in my phone and then syncing it again through the card reader and it still worked the same way.
Considering the limitations of KitKAt and Android L, i am running the new Android 5.0 in my S5, imposed in external Sd cards i was thinking that maybe there is a size limit to any folder outside the ANDROID folder, the only space that the OS lets apps write. Because what is left in those folders, the remaining songs, are flawlessly recognized by Poweramp and play correctly. My sdcard even passes the tests of A1 SD Bench.
Can anyone confirm this or has anyone ever had a similar problem?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance :good:
PS
I am using Windows 8.1, the laptop had Windows 7 and the latest edition of Media Monkey and JRiver
So nobody has any idea what happens?
Looks i am the only one with this problem.
Bummer...
