In Regedit, create a new key' Settings' so that it looks like this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]:
Create a new string value under 'Settings':
"SMSNoSentMsg"
Value: 1
tried that still got the bubble.. does that work for the xdaII?
Do you guys means this:
Go to Start/Setting/Sound and Notifications/Notifications
Select SMS:New SMS Message (point 1)
Uncheck Display Message on Screen
Why on earth do you want to disable the notification bubble? I reckon it a highly appreciated icon

That's for incoming SMS. The one I posted deals with the SMS notification bubble that appears after a message has been sent.

Yes, it's specifically for the XDAII cos there's no notification bubble for the XDAI. You probably entered it wrongly.

i appreciate the notification too. But preferences are individual, I know there would be some out there who'd prefer not to see the bubble after sending an SMS.
it is importent issue, yes I do not want my I-Mate to power on when I receive a SMS. How can I do that. why because I got a lot and want to save power and the most importent is when the I-Mate in pocket and off than it is powered on by SMS some time I-Mate calls others while it is in my pocket.

I remember that someone once posted a message in this forum asking how to disable the SMS Sent notification. His problem was that he was sending an SMS message to a very large number of recipients and the continuous stream of SMS Sent notifications was very annoying. I also experienced the same problem when I changed my phone number and notified via SMS everyone in my contacts list. The barrage of beeps and SMS Sent notifications that followed was really annoying. It would have been good to disable the notification at least temporarily.
NOTE TO EVERYONE: We're talking about the SMS Sent notification, not the SMS Received notification.
Why I can't see any Settings in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]?
Try to create that "Settings" key ... then create the SMSNoSentMsg string...
I just tried this and it DOES work...
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
The only thing to maybe note is SMSNoSentMsg is a numeric value, not a string value like the above says.
SMS sent bubble settings...EUREKA
I have posted this sometimes back and here it is again...
[HKCU\ControlPanel\Notification\Default\]
Creat a new key string and name it for instance "System Notification"
goto your Sound & Notification settings and you shall find the same there with the default check boxes.
Uncheck the display message on screen...
Bingo.. there you go and you wont get the bubble anymore..
Feedback's appreciated...

Well, in that case there' a way to control this "inconvenience" by a registry trick..
\HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\
Give a value of "35" to the DWORD string "WakeupPowerOff".
This controls the # of seconds following a non-user input event wakeup such as an alarm, the # of seconds without user input activity before the system suspends. But mind you to keep it close to 30 secs because of Alarm settings otherwise you screw up the alarm power on and off which is not appropriate 8)

After when you have edited the registry. You can modify the display, sound and duration of red LED from the Sound & Notifications thru the Control Panel..
Any luck... :?:
I think it works! Although its stupid to post yourself, i tried - and there you go! If you get an sms, the notification Is still there, but the bubble only pops up, if you tick the notification icon. That's just what i wanted.

on my imate JAM you can have (talking about SMS IN) this even without the registry edit. it is in settings sounds & notifications just untick display on screen message and you will only get the envelope when an sms comes in.... tapping the envelope will show you the message. As for the SMS SENT reg edit I will be trying it now... I'll report how it works out too.
Ok I tried this out (SMSNoSentMsg) and it works for me

Hello!
First I want to thank you for your great Forum!!!
I have a question, which I hope someone can answer:
Is it possible to attach a option "read" to the Popup, which opens when a SMS arrives. I can only choose "delete", "save as unread", ...
But there is no possibility to choose READ???!
Can anyone help me to solve this Problem??
Thx a lot
Korbi
Pls Help!!!
Or is it possible that i am in the wrong section here???
Greetz Korbi
Is it really 'save as unread'?
I have Delete, Call Sender, Save as READ and Dismiss in my soft menu.
May be your ROM is different. I am using latest imate ROM
Sorry!
Of course it is "save as read"! But still you cant choose "read" either, can you?

"save as read" option is exactly the thing as the "read" option you are looking for. No reason for a read option in the popup.

I got the same problem.. You receive an sms. get the small teaser. now it would be great to click on a "read" button that opens the sms to read the whole text.
if i click on "save as read", then the sms is saved a read, but does not open. if it was a large sms, i still dont know what was the whole text...

if there is a large message i have "VIEW" option on the right hard button (on screen) so... VIEW = READ (the whole message)
Wisely, the VIEW option only shows if the message is bigger than the popup window dimensions

Yes thats right. I already knew. But sometimes I wnt to read even short SMS in a hole New Window. The Popup fades after a short time. And this is sometimes to short, to read all the information.

Heyya
Im not 100% sure what your trying to achieve, will going to "messaging" in your start menu and opening SMS help?
3rd party software might be your only solution if not.

Yeah, of course that will work. But I want to have it instantly. If I get a message, there is a Popup which shows the content. But after few seconds the popup closes and there is only a hint. When I click the hint the popup comes again and closes again after few seconds. So I want an option to READ the sms, where the whole text stays until I close. Or a option READ where Messaging opens with the SMS (same as it is with longer SMS)
Thx
Korbi
Sorry if some explanations are wrong, but I have a German XDA Neo
oh yeap now i understand, appologies.
i'll see if there is a registry change that can delay the time of the notification of SMS display. Im sure there will be one as it appears to always hold for the same period of time on the screen before minimizing.
in the mean time try handango and trial some software for a PIM mod to the SMS display.
good luck till then.
lets say i've got a new text, well i press my messaging button to go to my texts, then when I press the new text, it goes back to my today screen, but when I press my messaging button again, it goes to the text that I chose like it didnt even go to the today screen? any ideas guys? tia

I have this happen but not with text messages but rather with new email messages. The exact same thing happens as you say. I will open the email and it will go back to the today screen but once I press the email messaging button it will open up to that email.
If you say your getting this problem with text messages and you press the messaging button I'm assuming your not using the threaded sms hack. I'm using the threaded hack so thats why I don't need to press the messaging button to open new text but I do need to press that button to open emails.
I've never tried a threaded sms before, how is it, and can you post a cab or a link to it for me? thanks man.

Here is a link to start you off http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=135927.
i'm having that issue as well, assumed it was the threaded sms for wm6 that i just installed. could be related to something else though as it sounds like you're not using the threaded app...
yep, count me in as well, that happens in both SMS and Emails
so did anyone find a fix, or solution to this? kind of aggravating at times. tia.
oh and medic or anyone else using the threaded sms, is it worth it to you all? can I remove it if I dont like it? tia again guys.
I have ContactCM installed and hav e the same problem. All in all it sounds like a bug in Windows Mobile 6 because I haven't heard of anyone on 5 having this problem.
Hi, is there a way to get the phone to wake when getting a text message or MMS? I miss so many messages when my phone is on vibrate and sitting right next to me on my desk since I cant see it turn on if I get a message.
thanks
Handcent does that, don't know about the stock app.

I miss having the smiley button in the texting app. If you have a pop up for sms, the keyboard shows it. But in the app, its the enter key. Anyone know if there's a way to change that? Now I have to press menu, then smiley then click which one.

Thanks, but used GoSMS, Handcent, 8sms...etc...but sticking with the stock messaging. They tend to lag when you get a bunch of group MMS's. And I don't need all the other crap and have another app running. That's why I wanted it in the stock app.
