When trying to send a MMS message, the image is renamed and stripped of the file ext.
Like this: IMG00453.jpg becomes 45684123
It is the same result whether I send to an email address or to another mobile phone.
Some email clients doesn't understand that 45684123 is really a .jpg image.
Tried telling HTC support about this, but they don't seem to care...
I have a temporary solution, by disabling the HTC default MMS program and installing Arcsoft MMS v5.
But then I can’t pick a contact and choose “send Message”, because it refers to the default program which I disabled….
Well, at least I can send MMS with file ext…. :-|
Does anybody have a fix for this problem? So that the default MMS program can be used?
No one can help?

mms server ip
i sugest you try and contact telmore for more info
Well. I've tried this guide, but I dont get the MMS option on the Today screen. I'm stuck - only having the "No unread messages" line. Any suggestions? Why doesnt the MMS option pop op on the Today screen?
well my qtek2020 have an item on the today screen just like that pdf describe at tdc's site i would asume that orange would have a program much like it
mms are not like sms and activsyncmails and normal mails
they dont pop up under messengers
my mms today screen item opens a program called mms composer made by arcsoft soware which handle the mms sending and recieving
Do you know where i can dl the software from? I think, thats what I need. I dont think Orange has included this sw.
This is how to do it:
1. Install the MMS application - download default_mms.zip and rename it to default_mms.cab. Then execute it on your M1000
2. Create a new Network - in my case it is called Telmore MMS
3. Create a connection for your new network.
Name: TDC MMS
Modem: Celluar Line (GPRS)
Access Point: mms
3. Start the MMS app and configure it to use the network Telmore MMS
I use different networks to avoid having to change the default modem each time I switch between MMS and GPRS browsing.
Regards
Michael
Thanks! I'm able to test it tonight/tomorrow. I'll post my results (luck ) with this one.
Just a newbie question. How do I execute the renamed .cab file?
cab files if renames can of cause be executed by you renaming them back to cab
if they are cab then using total commander give you the option run which execute and install the cab file in the process
Hello,
I have this weird problem.
Hardresetted my device to make sure only the nice programs get installed. Installed the Orange.cab too, to make sure all the settings for orange netherlands will be used.
GPRS works good and so on.
Only problem is that i dont see the mms inbox icon in Messaging. Weird thing is that when i go to mms settings in the inbox all settings are shown as they suppose to be.
Anyone know whats up ?
I installed only the following cab's from ext rom :
Default_cdl_wwe_version.cab
Default_ie_view.sa.cab
Default_Imate_PPC_SA_V5.5.03.cab
I dont see info about the other cabs that need to be installed to make mms work, but i could be wrong. Any help is welcome !
Thanks !
Jeroen
This happened to me as well. I'm not sure I want to do another hard reset right now to try to get it back though.
I got my device running nice and fast now, even skype works perfect with nearly no delay so i dont want to hard reset again either.
But i would like to use mms lol
It's good to hear im not the only one with this issue.
By default (after a hard reset), there is no MMS account configured in messaging. Are you sure you have populated your provider's server info and set it as default (in mms configuration -> servers tab)? I believe after that was completed, that is when MMS showed up as an acct. in messaging.

Yes, it is configured there. I even created a new server, and then deleted the old one. Still no MMS account folders.
Same here.. all mms settings are configured, but still no mms inbox..
Hmm...couple more things to check (whether or not these affect the creation of an MMS acct. in messaging):
- Make MMS server connect via "the WAP network".
- Provide a valid WAP address/port in your proxy settings for WAP access.
(These are addt'l things that I had setup and I am getting MMS in my messaging app)
I think you need the cab file: Default_CAB-shortcut-CDL-08Sep05.CAB...that has the MMS app in it...
i cant receive pics or send them to any one, im on o2 contract, any help? before i ring o2.?
Have you been able to send and receive pics before? Or have you had this prob since owning the device?
If the latter, I believe you have to first send a MMS (on o2) before your number is configured to receive them. You need the following settings:
servername: O2UK
gateway: 193.113.200.195
port number: 9201
server address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
find it in: messaging > MMS > Menu > MMS Configuration > "Servers" tab.
You should see "O2UK" listed, if not click new and create an "O2UK" account using settings above. If you do have O2UK listed then tap on it and check the details as above.
hi im using a new sim card with my exec so could it need activating?
i can get on the net ok, when some one sends me a pic it comes as a normal text and says log on to o2 to view your pic.
I think o2 are a bit like vodafone on this one. Until you've sent an MMS, they don't know you're phone is capable of MMS, hence you get links to your pics on their website.
Obviously you say you are having problems sending, so check your settings for MMS as posted above (you can also try port number "8080"). If they are correct, it might be worth giving o2 a ring, but in the meantime, if you have another MMS mobile, pop the sim in there and try to send an MMS. Once you've successfully sent one, the ones you receive should come through as intended.

Have you installed the corporate install rather than the personal/basic option?
I had the corporate settings and couldn't send or receive mms. When I rang O2 we went through all the possible settings before trying a hard reset and a personal install. After that mms worked fine. Unfortunately the engineer couldn't tell me which extra software was installed, which enabled mms.
Ah yes, forgot about that option. If you don't have any MMS folders under messaging it's likely you've set a corporate install (or has been preset for you).
If you have no MMS folders then you need to install another part of the rom.
First get Total Commander (good file explorer lets you access device rom files) from here:
http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm
you need the "tcmdpocketarm" download. Download, connect your xda to the pc then run & install.
Run Total Commander on your xda. In the top line of the progam where you see a "\", delete it all and type "\extended_rom\"
A list of rom files will appear.
Select one like "CAB_Shortcut_O2..." and select open, or run.
This will install the MMS folders and the nicer O2 phone dialler screen (and a couple of other bits, but still not *all* the o2 cr*p). Follow all prompts, then soft reset.
Under messaging you should now find an MMS folder along with "Text Messages" and "Outlook Email".
This helped me get back the MMS folders and settings, after which all was ok.
ok after talking to o2 3 times i get some one else on the phone and he said the mms had been removed from my sim card so he has set it up again, if some one now sends me a mms msg it comes in to my mms inbox and says downloading but after a bit it says my msg could not be received, same if i try to send a pic it says sending but after 3 times it says your msg could not be sent and puts it in my outbox.
the settings in the mms configuration/servers are the same as wot has been posted on ere.
wot box's should i tick in the preferances ?
I am having the same problem. I am in corporate mode setting but do have MMS in my Outlook section. The configuration is as stated above but it fails to download after 3 attempts.
Anyone have any other ideas?
enigma_uk even though the guy who asked the question, his query had nothing to do with your reply, MAN I THANK YOU THOUGH!!! i needed that info!!! lol
cheeers mate!
The MMS feature on my 8525 won't let me save any information for the server information. After I ran the update it has my MMS limit set to 1k. I looked at server tab and there wasn't a server there, but when I try to add one it won't let me save it. Someone from the Cingular HTC forums said to check here to see if anyone had the individual cab file for the MMS program. They said that it looked like it didn't install correctly. The version I have currently is MMS Composer Version 3.5.1.23. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I installed an upgraded rom of windows mobile 6.1 and it is pretty good. The problem is MMS
I used a registry file I found on this site (I am attaching the text file) but when I try to send an mms the voice recording option comes up and not mms
Can someone help me?
I am using arcsoft 5 that was bundled in the vetvito rom.
I should specify by saying that I enter my sms/mms menu click new and select mms but the voice mail prompt comes up instead of the default mms insert image here. I was wondering if it was related to the registry settings I imported and if so, what should I do to correct this issue
I did find the registry file here I just don't remember the topic
