I have a TyTN with a wm6.1 rom upgrade
im trying to copy the contacts i have on my phone to my new sim
but the sim manager gives me an error message sayin "Bad Parameter" even if i try to copy a single contact (i have tried a few). i tried it with the new 6.1 version of the sim manager and it still doesnt work. any ideas?
May we know what os your SIM Provider..

I wanted to do exactly this, copy sim contacts to a new sim card without going through the tedious process of copying each individual contact from sim to phone blah blah.
found an app called Turbo Contact Backup 0.01. Goolge should find it.
Saves sim contacts to an xml file which can then be restored to a new sim card, lovely free app.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the good info on this site and wanted to contribute. After un locking my sx56 to T-mobile i cook up a new rom and found i could no longer access my sim card contacts afterwards to fix this i copyied my sim manger files from old rom and used active sync to reinstall them to ppc windows directory and it work these are the files i used it ask you to write over click yes this worked for me but please verify with otheir's i not out to mess up pda's
SIM_Mgr(shortcut), SIM_Mgr.exe, SIMManager.htm, SIMManagerHelp, SIMManagerHelp(shortcut), simreader(shortcut), SIMReader.htm, Thumbs.db.

thanks! but did you say you extracted files from another rom!?
if that can be done, perhaps you can do the same for media player 9 from 2003. and then we wont have to upgrade and put up with the bugs in 2003.
also... i have SMS messages saved on my sim card, from when i used it in a regular cell phone. any ideas on how to read them on ppc?
Sounded strange as Sim Manager seems to be available on many roms I have cooked, espescially t-mobile roms. What I found missing is STK or SAT Sim Application Toolkit. Any idea how to get it on a t-mobile rom 2003?
I dont know about media player but as far as the sim manger it was in the cooked roms. but it never opened in any of the roms that i cooked so i put at&t's original rom wm2003 ver A.30.09eng used active sync found the files i thougt it needed reinstalled a tmobile cooked rom 4.00.16 used at&t's files to replacet the ones on the rom now i can open my sim an copy them to my contacts before i could not.
Hi i am trying to copy all contacts at once to the sim card, like i used to with the mda 1, 2 and 3. I know i can copy them one by one, but that cannot be the solution. Any ideas ? Regards, The Modifier.[/u]
itd be great if someone vould find a solution to this as i realy need to copy my 200 contacts to sim and i sont want to do it one by one

guys press ctrl + a to select all (highlighted) tap the screen for few secs. then chose save to sim.. hope this helps
Can you keep all the detail from contacts in WM5 when saving them to a sim? I thought all the additional info would be lost if you managed to save them to sim?

ive used the cntrl a function but all the contacts are not highlighted. and even if they were there is no option by holding down the stylus to copy all to copy to sim card. this could be because iv installed the latest i mate rom.

A Hermes should have it, though the visible name depends on the SIM card used. Look for \Windows\STK_UIPPC.exe (you may need to turn on showing all and ROM files in your file explorer).
Thanks for the link Mike though I had already seen that thread and tried the files contained but no joy.
When I run STK.exe I get this message
'Your Sim Card has no application installed'
I did not have all the files on in my Windows folder. I did not have STK.exe. I also did not installed the extended rom... restarted the device straight after the ROM was updated. Is this the reason why?
I'm actually after it in order to see if I can use it to switch between Line1 and Line2 on my 64k sim. I've seen other threads about dual sim and people using Sim Tool Kit to switch between them.
You've answered yourself: your SIM card has no an STK application installed. So stop looking for a WM5 stuff, and, if you need an STK functions of your SIM, contact your operator for a SIM exchange.
Not every SIM card has an STK on it.

Thanks. I did find STK_UIPPC.exe but the Orange sim just gives a couple basic functions (i.e calling the operator), nothing for Line switching.

I have lost all my contacts and cannot find any in the sim manager..
Is there a way I can retrieve them?

the hd2 doesnt store them on the sim, so if they werent already on the sim card before, then they've gone. (I take it you havent been using myphone, or outlook, or exchange, or pim manager, or some other contact backup prog?)
sure i understand the contacts not on the sim which were installed to my HD2 only have gone, however there were contacts on the sim before which I cannot get hold off...when I go to people/sim manager and try to import sim contacts there are 0
whats happened?
Im assuming I have lost my sim contacts aswell?

hmm, well if - people tab - all people - menu - view - sim doesnt show any, then there aren't any i'm afraid.
Hello guys, I have a problem. Last week my phone was giving a sim error (sim card is not detected or sim card removed.) I bought the same sim but now I can't use sim and ril. If I call somebody, it says mobile network not available. Imei is okey, I can see him but I can't use data. My operator is Vodafone TR. I didn't face to problem about imei (it isn't clone imei) I tried to libsec-ril.so, modems, another roms but it isn't working now. I tried *#*#4636#*#* but it didn't work. If I install stock rom or stock based custom roms, sim and data work. And I want to say something about apns. When I look apn, sometimes hidden. I created new apn and save, it wouldn't save. Please help me (sorry for my English)
