Well it seems like based on a leaked screenshot the N1 for Verizon may come with the SenseUI user interface.

Probably a typo... this would be contrary to what Google itself said....
if its sold by Verizon directly, and not google like the N1, doesnt verizon have final say over what software it gets. I think the Incredible could very well be the VZW N1..just speculation of course

Indeed. Who wants to start a pool for the amount of bloat VZW puts on this phone? Who also wants to wager that fastboot oem unlock is removed

As much as I hate Verizon i have to say they impressed me with the droid. It was not bogged down at all with crap VZW bloat like VZ Nav and all that other crap.
Still hate em though, for personal reasons.

I keep forgetting about the droid. Perhaps that is a sign for what will come with future android devices...
looks like the N1 wont be sold in Verizon Stores
http://androidandme.com/2010/03/news/verizon-nexus-one-to-include-sense-ui-available-only-online/
also notice that the camera is 5mp just like the GSM version. I think i saw that the incredible has an 8mp camera. My question is why would Verizon want two of the same phones? Just to have one to sell in stores??
Seems like a typo to me. I'm hopeful they will surprise me with a desire on their site come the 23rd. I think my hopes here fall into the category or wishful thinking/pipe dream.

Other than currently being un-rootable the Eris is also clean and isn't bogged down. Not sure about the recently released Devour by Motorola, but I am pretty sure other than the Visual voice mail app(that the Droid and Eris have), it does come with the VCast video service(so far only Android phone on VZW to do so).
http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/12/verizons-nexus-one-to-be-sold-only-through-google-have-sense-u/
Update: That was quick -- it seems Verizon has already updated its specs to remove the reference to Sense and change the URL from google.com/phones to google.com/phone -- no plural. Thanks, ninjalex76!
Could these be actual pictures and specs?
Yeah, actual info on the HTC Incredible, not a Nexus One.

You're right... not a Nexus One... but the specs say that it is a "Google Experience Device" with "Google Over The Air Updates"
As long as a it can be rooted and new ROMs are made available in a reasonable time, this might be an alternative choice. Given the it's a "Verizon" phone I hope it does not suffer the same faith as the Verizon Imagio for which no ROM was available for a long, long time.
EDIT: Given these specs it appears that the Incredible is not a CDMA & GSM World Phone like the Imagio. This is a little disappointing given that the rest of the specs are very impressive.
The Incredible out on the 29th it looks like an official VZN site
EDIT: Never mind... this site is now password protected... see my other link below.

just spotted this paragraph in the specs.
The HTC Incredible™ supports Bluetooth Profiles for wireless headsets, hands–free accessories, stereo and phonebook access. It does not support all object exchange (OBEX) profiles.
I wonder why HTC not implemented all round bluetooth support (OBEX) in the Incredible.
There is now an "official" Verizon Incredible Page... On pre-order on the 19th and available in stores on the 29th and some additional details from Phandroid

Android 2.1 platform for Hero and Moment
Specialists: All
Customers: All
What you need to know:
With all the anticipation of Nexus One joining the Sprint Android family of great devices, customers with the HTC Heroand the Samsung Momentwith Googlemay wonder about the Android 2.1 platform that supports Nexus One.
What you need to do:
We know that technology has enabled greater productivity and spontaneity in our lives, and because of this we have become very dependent on staying connected. Customers don only expect more from their wireless phones -- they demand it.
Let your customers know we are actively working on having the Android 2.1 platform available to our Hero and Moment customers over the coming weeks.
Look for more information coming in April about Android 2.1 platform for Hero and Moment.
And dont forget:
The HTC Hero and the Samsung Moment with Google are superior devices.
Sprint is the only national U.S. carrier to offer HTC Hero, and it picked up top honors as Best Mobile Handset at the 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
About.com readers have also nominated HTC Hero as their favorite smartphone for the 2010 Reader Choice Awards.
doesent suprise me thats why i just went back to old trusty 1.5 and going to try to block 2.1 outta my head cause im gonna die of high blood bressure waiting for it to officially drop
good thing 99% of my customers dont know wtf 2.1 is anyways lol.
It's not as if these new 2.1 ROMs up on this board are totally useless.
These new builds are stable enough for everyday use and aren't that different than what the official 2.1 will provide.
The jump we've made in just the last week is far bigger than the difference that the official ROM is going to give us.
yea i use 2.0b i love it! screw sprint lets go xda! lol were just basically missing the friend update thingy from these builds pretty much nothing more i believe.

Not a chance, last night schmidts was running on T-mo, meaning its a GSM phone. Will there be a variant that is CDMA? Doubt it - mainly because of all the CDMA Nexus hype that went on while the google phone store was open.
I doubt we will ever get a true CDMA Google Phone on ANY CDMA Carrier. We might get lucky and see a world phone - but really really low chances for a CDMA only device.

Then again..if anyone can pull off a CDMA google phone..it'll probably be Samsung...I mean if they got their phone on all the US carriers and 110 carriers..maybe with some pressure samsung can get the Nexus S on there...
Also I think it'll be called Nexus S..aka Nexus S(econd) lol

I prefer the Epic to the Evo as well, but I wouldn't say the Evo sucks.
Well lets look at it this way..Samsung making it == more goodies for us Epic users whether we plan to get it or not we can agree thats good lol
But realistically speaking Samsung will always have the advantage since unlike HTC they actually manufacture their own stuff...aka less likely to be effected by shortages and more likely to get more expensive hardware at the same price.
A lot of people who don't like Samsung say they make good hardware but bad software..but with the Nexus S, Google is going to do the software...so best Hardware + Best Software = win..no?

This is an email that I recieved from HTC after emailing them asking about the sense 2.0 update (some things removed from it for my privacy):
Dear ,
Good question! We understand how important it is to have the latest updates for your device.
I'm happy to inform you that your phone, the HTC Evo is definately on our list to recieve the 2.3 Android OS update. This update is expected to include an update to the Sense UI.
At this time, we don't have an exact launch date. However, we estimate that it will be available in the second quarter of 2011 (anywhere from the beginning of April, to the end of June), assuming that there are no major setbacks. Once we have a better idea of when this update will be availble for your phone, we'll be sure to announce it through Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/htc) and Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/htc), and of course, HTC.com.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
To send a reply to this message or let me know I have successfully answered your question log in to our ContactUs site using your email address and your ticket number.
Sincerely,

So what about the iphone 3g? Apple is no longer supporting that phone either. hmm...
The fact that you're posting in forums designed specifically to incite interest in rooting phones and installing the latest firmware tells me you are either an idiot or troll, op.
Likely both.

Whaaaa? I thought April Fool's Day was on the first. In so far as I can tell, the only thing Apple has to offer that Android doesn't is the number of higher quality games, and that gap is shrinking in a big hurry. Beyond that, my Evo does everything an iPhone does, and I don't have to put up with AT&T or Verizon. Bonus!
And at any rate, didn't Apple and AT&T brick a bunch of iPhones last year with OTAs?
Yea, and they will brick it remotely if its jailbroken now too, bunch of phone-nazis!

quite funny on how you did a search, this Topic is plastered all over xda and android central about not being able to root with a 2.3.3
On the other hand, i've heard plenty of rumors that they 2.3.3 was recalled and they are not updating now.. which sucks because I got mine with a 2.3.3 and hate not being rooted
But will HTC really unlock the 4G now that the 3D is out? I've not been able to find anything anywhere that specifically states that the 4G will be unlocked in the future. I'm pestering them on Facebook and so far they've refused to say that they have any intentions of unlocking the bootloader.
i doubt htc will unlock evo 4g. this will have to be done by devs.
htc said they will try to unlock future phones... not past phones.
it started with evo3d & sensation.
locked htc botloader is not new... evo 4g has always had it...this new one must have some type of new security.
It is too bad that they can't put the previous bootloader back on the phone through an update or something. At least that could be worked through.

Not to mention a quick glance of the first damn page haha
I've been finding a bunch of posts regarding when the Razr HD will be getting KitKat. We have been waiting a while, so I figured I'd make a tracking thread so everyone can know when KitKat is finally released.
The last piece of information we have really gotten came from David Schuster, senior director at Motorola Mobility in Illinois.
This post alone sparked a great many Android articles... Needlessly so, IMO
One G+ post fed:
Android Central
Into Mobile
Softpedia
Phone Arena
DroidLife
Seems I'm not the only one starving for some news.
me too I'd like to know when we'll receive kitkat...a question, i'm from Italy but i purchased my razr hd in Uk.
My version is 98.21.22003.xt925.CEE-Retail.en.EU..Will I receive the upgrade as well or the release is only for Verizon users?
David Schuster did say a couple of days ago that the "M and HD are in Verizon labs currently". And that "Labs" can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
It's in the same Google+ post linked in the OP. It's toward the bottom of the comments.

It still isn't clear weather a completed version is in their labs for testing and approval OR Moto's version was submitted to them for them to add bloat, test, fix, test, add more bloat, test, etc. I think once Verizon puts out a soak with their junk on it, then we may be getting truly close.
* This is only my interpretation on how this process is working and may be wrong.

Typically "labs" is the end of the line, unless there's a problem with the Software / Hardware on Verizon's Network.
Definitely coming this month.

MAYBE this is NOT related, but Motorola have scheduled an event on 13th may, the update may be announced then...
It's just a guess.

Sounds more hardware than software related. I doubt they'd hold an event (or waste time at one) to announce a software update for phones released back in '12. They didn't for the newer, more relevant phones, and with no other company calling an event to announce "we've released KK for you on XYZ phone" it would come off as very pompous.
...am curious to see what their next model phone is though...
So possibly the firmware will be released before the new phone comes out?

Everything is speculative with no real concrete evidence to back anything up. We know that it's likely to come out this month, but even that is not 100% certain.

I was thinking that they could announce the update with their new phone. With a big MAYBE. :fingers-crossed:
