Youtube? - HD2 General

SO I recently got a data plan and hard reset my phone. I set up all my emails and facebook account. What does setting up a youtube account do??? The youtube app doesnt even have the option for me to view my subscriptions or recently posted videos by my subscriptions (have to manually search for them PITA) so what use does it have? Also you can not select the US as a region in the settings for the youtube app (only worldwide). if anyone can shed light on the situation it would be appreciated.

You can upload your videos within the album app.

Youtube account errors

Hey guys,
im having a issue here where i am not able to sign into my youtube account, i have even created a new account and tried to sign in with it but it keeps saying incorrect password. Though i have tried it on the youtube site and it works fine.
Any ideas?
try signing in using your gmail account (if you have one) thats what worked for me. Also has anyone got the issue where some of your subscriptions show up as having no videos but when you click on them a list of videos come up and say they are unplayable?
I too have the same problem, none of my subscriptions videos are showing up. I click on a subscription video and all I get is a blank thumbnail image with 0 videos/ 0 views. When I try to click on one of the videos I get a 'sorry this video is not available' pop up. Favourite videos are ok, but not subscriptions.
I'm a UK Nexus One owner
thanks guys that worked!

youtube upload

Hey all,
I have the new market youtube version om my dhd,
and the problem is that every time i try to upload a vid to my youtube.
Either from the gallery, camera or youtube app,
I get the error messages: Failed to retrieve account information
I tried this using wifi and 3g.
I read somewhere to enable multiple logins allowed for the gmail account.
but nothing seems to work.
anybody else have this issue?
some one know what the fix is for this?
SOLVED...
What i did i go to settings - applications - youtube - clear data
go to youtube, go to my channel, it asked me if i wanne use my already configured gmail.com account,
i selected add account,
did only the username without @gmail.com
and now it didnt give me the error and is uploading my test vid.
No body has this problem?
Do you have an account on youtube?
In my case, I'm using the preinstalled youtube player on the device. When I upload, the first time it asked for my login which it accepted. Now, when I click upload nothing happens, no error, nothing. No movie appears on youtube
I use my gmail account for youtube.
I used this on my moto milestone and it worked just fine.
but now it doesnt on my desire hd..
On second thought, I'm having the same problem as you, the "Failed to retrieve account information" error.
I found this solution, but a hard reset isn't worth it for me. Any other solution?
Hmm ok....
So cant we do this all without hard resetting?
anyway.. nto gonne do this.
waiting for a nice good custom rom,
and then might try it.
I *think* I just found a solution. Here's what I did:
I previously signed in with my gmail account linked to youtube, so I used "[email protected]" as a username. After that, it also showed up in my account list in android. It wasn't there before, since I use a different gmail account for my e-mail and calendar syncing. I also noticed that when going into the youtube app and clicking on My account, it would hang.
So, I deleted that account from the account list in android. I then went into the youtube app and readded my account information there (since it was obviously gone, as I deleted the account from android). But, I didn't use [email protected] as username but only myname, so without the @gmail.com.
Then, the youtube app would directly show me my previously uploaded videos and so on. Afterwards, I went into the android gallery, chose a video, share > youtube, and now it's uploading without a problem.
In my case I could remove the account without problems, since I don't use it for calendar, contacts etc. I don't know what you'd have to do if you do use it for that. Somehow you'd have to change the username to remove @gmail.com I think.
Let my know how this works for you...
Just to be sure..
You deleted the gmail account from your phone right?
Not just specificly youtube?
I do use calendar and contacts ect but they sync with gmail.
so should not be a problem.
Where did you remove the account?
Menu - settings - accounts & sync - google
??

Correct. I deleted the google account, that in my case only applies on logging into youtube from the accounts list > Menu - settings - accounts & sync - google.
Successssss!!!!

did like you sayd only the username without @gmail.com

jeeej,...
Bedankt voor de hulp!
Dit is een stuk handiger dan een hard-reset
Great! And thanks for adding the extra information.
Groeten!
does anyone else get the "cannot upload files larger than 1GB" error even though your file is WELL under 1GB? I'm testing it right now, but I think files under 100mb will work. Is this a broken error? any fixes?

can you upload very small vids?
or do you get the error with every size?
hello. I tried that as well, but my device automatically adds the @gmail.com after my username. Once I confirm, it states that this account is already added (which it is). I can access all my videos and favorites, but I cannot upload.

[Q] Can't Restore/View Google+ photos in Gallery App

Hi All,
I'm a newbie but a long-time follower of this site, so please excuse me of any ignorance. I tried searching for my issue but didn't find anything relevant, hence posting here.
I have ATT Stock Samsung Galaxy S4. I have one primary google account(A) which takes care of apps downloading, gmail etc. I also added another google account(B) mainly to manage my Photos. So, whenever I take new photos, I have instant upload/auto-backup for this account B. My sd card just crashed couple of days and I have formatted it and it's all good to go now.
Now, I am looking for ways to see all my google+ photos of Account B in my Gallery app since auto-sync is turned on. While it shows up everything in Google+ photos app, I would prefer to see everything in Gallery app. I tried changing "Content to Display" in Gallery settings to show Picasa as well Device photos, but it keeps showing account A's picasa web albums and not account B.
I am really tired of looking everywhere, so I'm hoping one of you could patiently help me.
Thanks!
K

[Q] Facebook profile

Hi,
I have a problem with my facebook profile.
when i'm trying to click on a video (on my galaxy s4) the video is open without the "complete action" screen.
(I want to download videos from facebook app)
i've tried to remove the app and download it again. still doesn't work.
but when I try to login with a different account it works just fine (the complete action screen jump)
can anyone know how to solve this problem ?

[Q] new sgs5 now showing any pictures in the gallery app

hi there.
two days ago i got my new s5. i like it and all but all the image storing and online storage is a little much at first. but since my previous phone was stolen and i lost a couple of hundred of fond memories (pictures) i was determined to store them online this time. i set up a dropbox account that seems to come with the phone and i used picasa or whatever google drive calls my online gallery (never used this before).
it's neat and i figured out how to hide online pictures so it serves as a backup.
NOW TO MY PROBLEM:
since everything is new to me here (had sgs2 before) i played around in the gallery that is now largely different. i seem to have set something to the wrong setting because now it doesn't show ANY PICTURES anymore. not from any folder/album. from one second to the other everything was gone (from the gallery). the pictures are all there, though. i can access them with any other app (es file explorer, google pictures, camera, etc.) but i want my gallery back. it says "no items - after you take, record or upload pictures or videos to dropbox, items will be shown in gallery"
this leads me to suspect that i might have switched my gallery to displaying the contents of my EMPTY dropbox account. i don't want this but i am unable to change it back. besides i have an app for dropbox stuffs so why is this feature even integrated?
settings shows me the following:
accounts:
[g] my gmail account
SNS DATA CONTROL:
sync via wifi only [v]
CLOUD SYNC
dropbox sync
tap to sync content
FILTER
filter by
TAGS
tag buddy
off
face tag [_]
above i can only access "Add Account" which brings me to a menu displaying all my accounts (or some): samsung, google, dropbox, facebook
PLEASE HELP ME!
i did not find any help searching because there seems to be a similar problem with people's media storage malfunctioning. i don't believe that is my problem but i tried resetting the media storage anyways. i am sure it is something that i did to hide my pictures. how do i get them back? i don't plan on using a different gallery app but maybe it is the only solution?
regards
L2

EDIT:
------------------------------------
i actually just installed quickpic and it shows all my pictures which proves to me even further that nothing is wrong with the pictures but just that my gallery is screwed up. how do i unscrew it?
Clear data for gallery app under settings/applications.
