I found while running MP3's with coreplayer while using the Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800 bluetooth headset, that the sound would play for about 5 seconds then cut out for about 5 seconds constantly.
I then realised it was as soon as I hit the "power" "sleep" button.
So to fix the problem I hit the power button then hit it again so the screen shows the screen lock page. Then put it in my pocket and it goes to sleep by itself but plays the music perfectly.
Not 100% sure why this is but thought I would share it!
This is happening to me with my HBH-IS800 as well. The audio keeps cutting out. I'll try your method and see if that works.
Are you able to control the volume of the IS800 outside of Coreplayer? Are you able to use the system volume or the volume in a player like Windows Media Player to control the volume? I'm unable to and it's really frustrating.

This also works for the wired headset/earphones... even with the "dont stop playing when screen off" fix it still cut out... but following this easy little step it worked...
I can't control the volume outside of coreplayer really annoying!

Hi,
I have installed coreplayer on my trinity and it works ok- sounds so much better than windows media player!
I do have a few problems with it though-
it seems the phone will not wake up from sleep state very well- it takes a few presses on the wake up button to wake it up......
Also, when syching my blueant X5 bluetooth headphones to the trinity it wont sync while using core player- i have to go into WMP and start a song there, and then resync the headphones. then once i close that program and go into coreplayer the music is now working thru the headphones. Why is this? Any way i can fix it?
Also, my headphones work great with WMP as in i can hold down the volume up key on the headphones to go to next song etc but cannot get this to work for coreplayer..... i tried to remap a button for it under menu but it wouldnt let me choose a button on the headphones- it didnt register that i was clicking it...... is there anything i can do to get this to work?
thanks
Scott
hi all,
i use htc audio manager to play mp3s on the jade. however, the music stops whenever i press the power button to turn the screen off. anyone knows how to keep the music playing despite turning off the screen? it'll definitely save a lot of power with the screen off..
i've searched around and i've found some solutions which i've tried..for example deleting "disable_exit" and "enter_suspend" from registry, but it doesn't seem to work.. is there any other tweak i can do?
also..i download the htc audio manager today plugin and installed. however, i can't seem to be able to select it at settings>today>items..is it because the today plugin is only compatible for the previous versions of the audio manager?
so sorry for the long questions..thanks for any help!

Pressing the power button puts the phone to sleep.. everything sleep. This is how I work around. Set backlight to turn off after, say 1 min, and the music keeps playing even when the screen is turn off.
If you use Windows Media Player instead, you can set what you want to do with the button options.
If you use Windows Media Player instead, the on/off button will switch off the screen only instead .
I think that when you have earphones connected than you can turn off screen by power button and keep playing music in all media players.
^^Correct! When I'm listening to music using earphones, the music keeps on playing even after putting the device to sleep.... I use HTC Audio Manager...
yeah! i just tried with earphones and it worked nicely..hahas..should've just tried with headphones from the start..i was doing testing on the media players without earphones hahas..thanks all for the help
Resco Radio has an option to turn of the screen and the call buttons and leave the sound on.
`unfortunately it´s not free `
When You plug in headset this work!

Hello,
I got a problem, I don't know why but the music of my htc touch hd stop by itself after 30 ~ 40 sec....
It just stop ....
Does anyone know why ?
thank you very much.
Ronio
Same for me
I have the same problem. My Touch HD also stops about after the same amount of time. I think its when the phone "shuts off" goes into hibernation mode which it does after 30-60 secs.
But sometimes when i press the homekey and lock the screen it doesnt do it. But if i lock the screen right after i pressed play in coreplayer it happends. And the only way to start it again is to unlock the screen. Anyone know why??
I took another MP3 player and abandonned TF3D music player.
It work well with others...
Hi, i used to have the same problem.
I go to the home screen, hold 'end call' to lock the device then the power button.
I dont know if it will solve it but it works for me all the time.

I am using coreplayer. Not TF3D
Disable sleep mode...or put your headset in audio out jack, so you can turn your screen off

What do you mean? My headset is in the audio out jack. WHen i want to listen to music i put my headphones in, and start coreplayer and the music. Then i press the off button to lock the device with pocketshield. But then the music stops when it goes to sleep
I've got the same problem, sound cuts out after minute or so. Doesn't matter which player I use.
Anyone found a solution, it's driving me nuts.
The solution :
New Hard SPL
Flashing your ROM with somes there...

Thanks for the response. What does New Hard SPL mean?
Same issue here, only when no headphones are connected though.
I am running latest HSPL and Rimi ROM 6.5 (latest). I also flashed a new radio (which works great BTW).
If I go to the default media player, play some music (or choose play all on home screen for that matter) and press the top off key to lock device then music stops straight away.
When I unlock the device I have to press play again to continue playing music.
The only way I have to lock the device and have music playing is go to program and choose lock (software lock then).
I tried going back to home screen before pressing the lock button, same thing.
Is this normal behaviour as in it should only allow music playing and screen lock when headphones are in?
Anyone know how to put the phone in standby mode while playing music? Specifically, i want the phone to play music but with screen off.
Generally, music plays just fine with the screen off. What player are you using? If you're using Windows Media, then the player should take care that, when you press the power button, the device doesn't actually go to standby but rather just turns its screen off.
You might also have problems with locking software. For example, the screen/key lock on my X1 forces it to go to standby and thus stops playing music. But if I don't lock, it doesn't go to standby (but just turns the screen off) and the music keeps playing.
A short press on the main power button will turn off the screen whilst music continues
also u have a better chance of music not turning off if ur listening to it thru the jack
zizoty...i know what you mean, i had that same problem, very often the music would stop when the screen is turned off, i guess this is a bug within the system, i never experienced this problem since i updated the firmware to the R3A
yep same problem... but is about the rom... I hope they can fix it in da next realease
I'm using R3A and listening to music with the screen off all the time. Never had a sudden music stop or w/e.
with some players one have to enable "toggle screen" to a key and use that
Power Button = Screen Off is only true when Headphones are plugged in. To listen through the speaker with screen off, assign a key to the screen off function (Check Options to do this). I suggest "Long press Up" or "Long Press Down".
Im runnig R3A firmware right now and using WMP, TCPMP. You can turn off the screen if you're using headphone, but when you're playing through the loudspeaker, you cant turn off the screen. The screen just get dimmer after a few minutes of playing but it never completely off.

Try S2P player. It's free and can play music through the speaker when the screen is off.
Edit: Pocket Player works that way as well.
I had firmware R1A and it had this feature. It was removed in the R2A NAM rom.
YOUR BEST BET IS TO UPDATE YOUR ROM TO R2A. It's easy just go to sony ericssons website, and look up Xperia, and click update.
I use my music player quite a lot, and am looking for ways to improve on the experience on Android phones.
What I wish to do is to be able to control the music in the following ways, regardless of whether the screen is turn off or on, and regardless of whether the music program is running in the foreground or background.
- long press volume up button: go to next song
- long press volume down button: goo to previous song
- press both button together: toggle between play and pause.
- normal volume up and down still controls the volume
I found a program in the market place, but it only works when the music player is in the foreground, and the screen must be on.
I use this feature a lot on my iPhone before bed, and hope I can do the same on my SGS.
Is there such a program you're aware of in the Market place?
that's interesting
however, I find it easier using my Bluetooth A2DP for that sort of things.
it works both in my car and my stereo headset
i can remote control the play of the music before/next, stop, pause, play, random, volume, etc
best is, if a phone comes in, it automatically switches to phone mode, and when the call is over, it resumes back to music mode.
The only single problem i've found is, i don't know now to answer the 2nd call via bluetooth, if 2 people are calling me at the same time.
I don't use Bluetooth. Also, I love connecting the music player to a proper sounding speaker system in my bedroom and lounge.
