Hi, Im after some help again please (or even a nudge in the right direction).
OK basically I have a lot of SPVM500 and SPVM2000's to configure.
On of the things I have to go is disable the buttons (calendar, contacts, camera etc) including the OK button (if possible) and the green and red buttons too (again if possible). I'm not allowed to use any additional apps and so I have to use a merged registry entry. Can anyone advise, reg key's etc?
Thanks in advance.
You don't ned a registry hack to do that. Just go to Settings-Buttons and delete the entries. I don't think there's a way to disable the Call and End buttons.
Hi thanks, yes I know I can go into the buttons settings, but with 500 devices to configure a registry merge would make my job that much easier lol. I have some registry input already that sets up my gprs etc from an autorun on an SD card, this is just for some other settings.
Also the buttons settings don't let you turn off the click in the center of the 'joystick'
Cheers
I'm not aware of a registry hack for your needs, sorry.
no worries, thanks for taking the time to reply anyway
there has to be a registry hack to remove the annoying tones that are played when you are dialing a number...
lmk thanks guys
Hi - go to start, settings --> phone and choose "Off" in the Keypad drop down box.
thank you!! omg i screwed around with so many settings in my registry to try and turn them off and all i had to do was this :emb: lol
Hi all
I have installed resco explorer and registry editor... and i wanted to change the rings folder from the registry (KCU>ControlPanel>SoundCategories>Ring>Directory) but it was unsuccessfull try.. so changed it back to the default folder (\windows\rings) but unfortunately when i get a new call, there is no sound coming out of the i-mate jam mobile even the vibration is not working.... what mess did i do guys.. please help me out here
Any help i will appreciate it...
thanx in advance
Every time the registry is modified a soft reset is required in order for the new registry entries/values to be loaded.
you know what i use to do this, theres a program that does it called sounds cool. you cant get a trial version however
i did a soft reset but does not work guys.....
If You wish to turn it back , You need to write in that reg:
"\Windows\Rings\" [without " of course]
and watch out for lower and upper cases (important in registry).
I looked all over my Pro and the manual, but cannot find a way to turn of the sound of the number keys. Every time I start typing a phone number the sounds ring out and I want to turn them off. Can someone help me?
Ok, sorted it out with help from Treo Central. For those who want to silence the sounds as well:
I renamed the registry keys HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\Dtmf1 trhough Dtmf# to get rid of those annoying LOUD sounds.
To set the keypad to vibrate: Rename Sound to Sound1 and add a new String value with "*vibrate*".
thanks to frause from TreoCentral.
Turning key sounds
To turn Off your DTMF on your Treo PRO
I edit the registry
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\Keypress
Find Script Beep mode, change 2 to 0.
Soft reset.
It works for me.
hello i am a little new to all of this. i was wondering if you could tell me which program you use to edit the registry and give me some pointers on how to complete the modification you mentioned above. the key beep annoys me way to much. thanks for your help in advance.
Use a program like total commander or PHM Registry Editor.
Go to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\Keypress]
And change BeepMode to:
"BeepMode"=dword:00000000
Probably a silly question...but if I turn off the key sounds or turn them to vibrate - will it still send the tones when I press the button?
Yes it will! No problem what so ever
Hello,
I suddently got a "0" in my notifications list. I'm pretty sure that I didn't install anything for the last month.
Any idea how I can remove that? I've tried a search in the registery but no luck.
Is there also a possibility to add extra notifications?
thanks in advance
i think its because you changed something in the registry, since there's no way to know that, a hard reset should solve the problem. if you can't live with that "0"
nope, I haven't touched the registery. All I wanted is a way to avoid the hard reset... it isn't a real problem but it does look ugly when I'm in that menu.
still i believe its the registry, maybe a program you installed changed that menu, anyways try a search for registry hacks on how to modify sounds and notifications menu aiming to delete the "0" option
problem solved, found the registry key in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default\Options\{A877D663-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}
