My mom bought me and my bro a dash 3g last week. I discovered this forum, and immediately flash my phone to the 3vo rom(which is great btw). I've noticed now, that I have a cap on the size of the pics and vids I can upload, 330kb to be exact, while my brother's phone has none. I attempted to send the same sized mms on both phones, his send the mms just fine, while mines claimed it was too big. Is there some kind of fix to this?
The "fix" is to change it in MMS settings. Start/Settings/MMS Settings. Press Menu, select MMSC Settings. Press Menu again to edit you settings. Change Max Sending Size to 1000K.

Hi, sorry I did not explain it clearly, It's not about the MMS capture video problem.
I want to send a MMS to a friend by using my Mini, the MMS is about 400K and when I send it, it said the size is too big and ask to change the setting. However in the MMS setting the biggest size it allow to set is 250K so I want to know is there a way to change it. Thanks!!
Anyone can help?
bumpity bump
Here in the UK all the networks have a limit of 300k on their servers, so its not the phone thats restricting.
acrosoft mms 2.5.0.28
with acrosoft mms 2.5.0.28 you can set the mms size to 300k.
A few months ago I downloaded a CAB that changed the mms size to the original size, do anyone have it? I have the Wing phone.

HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\Size Limit
change key : wap2sendlimit1 to 1228800 (1.2M)
HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\Size Limit
change key : sendlimit3 to 1228800 (1.2M)
Then change the settings in MMS . Start > Messaging > Menu > MMS Options > Servers > T-mobile MMS (which is my carrier, if different pick your carrier) . Now goto Send Limit and change the value to 1200K. Click done and you are done.
10. Tap Done.
11. Scroll to T-Mobile MMS if it is not selected.
12. Tap Set As Default.
13. Tap ok.
* The new message screen appears.
14. Send a message to your own mobile number to test your settings.
Hiya
Ok so ive had my x1 a couple of weeks now and love it to bits, however im really struggling with mms and wondered if anyone else has the same problem or if theres a tweak for it
Im on three network in the UK, and have got all the right settings on it .. I can send sms, and can connect to the internet via my network, but when I try to send an mms it will let me compose it but wont send. It just sits in my outbox looking pretty but refuses to go!
Any help would be greatly appreciated .. thanks
Mella
Go into you sms\mms folder (where your sms's are)
Go Menu. MMS Options
Goto the Servers tab and check that it is using the correct mms server
You have to create a new connection for mms, and set it to default for mms so it changes connection when sending mms messeges
Hiya
Yeh I have the three mms settings and they are set as default, but it still wont go .. any more ideas guys?
Check the following, but change telstra to three:
Go to Start, Settings, Connections, then Connections again.
Go to the Advanced tab
Choose Select Network
Change the second drop down box to Telstra MMS
Make sure you soft reset after making these changes
If you are still stuck give the x1 support hotline a call. They have fixed a few problems for me.
Most operators have a service that sends you the mms settings through a text message. The phone can then automatically pick that up and config it.
Some operators don't support the X1 yet though.
Hi buzz, thanks for getting back to me again!
It doesnt give me that option in that box unfortunately .. I debranded my phone using the uk rom
I dont get how it will let me browse the internet using three internet settings yet not send an mms through them, and ive checked my mms settings so many times. Aggghhhrrr its driving me crazy!
Ooooh wheres the help line number? I think thats going to be my next option ..

Yes unfortunately three dont support this phone so will not send me the settings, but ive found the settings online aswell as checking through my previous phone so im 99% sure im doing it right
Ok, you need to make a new connection in that menu for the second drop down box.
The first drop down box should say Three Internet (or similar).
Click the "new" button below the second drop down box and use these settings:
3 MMS settings
Access Point Name: mms.three.co.uk
Username: blank
Password: blank
Gateway IP (proxy) address: 217.171.129.2
MMS Message (Relay) Server URL: http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
Then go into your SMS/MMS inbox and check that 3 MMS is your default mms server.
Last of all... soft reset and you should be right.
Woohoo it worked it sent it!
My last phone wasnt half as technical as this so its taking me a while to learn the ins and outs, but im determined to perservere as I love it so much.
Buzz your an angel .. Thank you so much for your help
Mella
No worries.
Make sure you keep these settings somewhere (especially if you are flashing new roms).
It took me a while to get my mms settings working (no thanks to telstra), but I'm always happy to help.
Hey guys,
i dont know if this is the right place to post this but i recently flashed my tp2 with 6.5 and i keep my phone on vibrate but when i receive a text message my phone wont acknowledge that i have one, it wont vibrate everytime i get one, i pretty much have to check it to see if theres a message...dont know how to fix this but if any one can help it'll be great.

idk what carrier you have but i know the mms size increase worked for me. i know for tmobile if you fix the connection with these settings it'll let you send pics.
MMS:
1. Go to Start - Settings - Connections - Connections
2. Go to the right tab, click on Select Networks
3. In the drop down menu (first one), select T-Mobile MMS, and then Edit or whatever the button is below.
4. Click Edit again, leave the network name as is, and then change the access point name to: wap.voicestream.com
5. Finish that, and then in that drop down menu from step 3 or whatever, reselect T-Mobile Data. Then close out, and send MMS's.
Yea i have tmobile, thank you ill give it a try
I'm going crazy with the question of the MMS in this build of American Android. I'm from Spain and my phone company Telstra (yoigo). I tried everything I've read but can not send or receive MMS. The APN is correct. Not if the problem is the build or in Spain we have to change any line of buildprop. I would appreciate answering me to post it in my country.
Thanks
make sure max message size is not set above 300k
ROM default mismatch some APN data.
Try correct your APN data.
For example, in my case: MMSC rom defaul was h t t p://202.222.042.204:8002
but MMS only starts to work using h t t p://202.222.42.204:8002
Follow and type your APN data.(the correct one for your country and carrier etc)
Look carefully for any differences betewen rom default and carrier request.

The APN is correct. I have no problems with other builds. I come to think that only works in U.S.A. so I tried to change the DNS in the buildprop. This has not solved the problem. I connected and disconnected and have exclusive 2G connection on and off wifi as I read in a previous post. Neither works. Thanks for the reply. Can you think of something else?

i dont just mean teh message is actually smaller than 300k, i mean that the setting 'max mms size' is set to 300.
I cant find this particular setting in my rom, lol, but ive seen it given as a solution twice recently, I suspect the roms in question are using the tmobile 1000k default size, and those threads have reference to a max mms size setting in their mms settings screen.
reference one two

Any other ideas?
I love this build. The only problem I've found are the MMS. Maybe it is a problem that must be solved by CyanogenMod guys

MMS requires Mobile Data on
Hi,
I can send and receive MMS as long as Mobile Data is on. However, adding a MMS APN does not work; when Mobile Data is off, MMS can't be sent or received.
I've verified the Netcom Norway MMS APN settings to be correct, and this works on my LeeDroid 2.2.1 configuration. For Cyanogenmod, this does however not work. I've verified this both on my DHD (CM 7.0.0) and HD2 (CM7RC4).
Too bad, as I configured the HD2 for my gf, but she does not have a data plan...
Thor
I can also confirm on hy Desire GSM on Telstra running CM7 stable that you can only send/receive MMS if mobile data is enabled.
Can anyone say if this standard/expected behavior for Android roms on Telstra?
Today i had a problem where i couldn’t send MMS messages using my SGS Android phone. Im currently running Cyanogenmod nightly 181 so i went looking for a fix.
This is what worked for me:
1. Download root explorer (It costs a few $ from the market, but well worth it) or an equivilent and give it root priviledges.
2. Locate the following file, telephony.db: /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db
and
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db
3. Rename the file. (e.g xxtelephony.db.xx) or delete it (I deleted it)
4. Restart your phone
5. Now try sending an MMS.
That solved my problem and i can now send MMS messages again. This fix may also work for other roms, so give it a try if you’re experiencing problems.
I had the same issue in my Desire S (Saga) with CM7. Send/Receive MMS only with enabled Data APN. I tried to delete the telephony.db and restarted my phone. After the reboot mms works fine, but they set my Data APN back to default (i renamed the apn to be sure that the data connection is disabled). I renamed it again. After the reboot also the telephony.db is back.
My first test was positiv, i now can send / receive MMS. Hope that this will not change.
