No sms tone after tweak 24 - HELP!! - HD2 General

My led only flashes for 5 mins onm a missed call or text and the option to make it longer is greyed out. This tweak lets you adjust the length of time it flashed for:
24. Enable LED Notification Setting in Sound and Notifications
If you want your LED to flash when you have a new message, missed call or voicemail.. well you can't as it is greyed out. However the following registry entries can be modified to enable them or use the cab at end of post. Reset after changes. Notifcation for Email sadly does not work

After changing the sms to flash for 60 minutes i no longer have a tone or vibrate when i get a txt
i have uninstalled the cab i used to apply the above tweak but still no joy. Done numerous soft resets and checked system volume and all the obvious options. Even after uninstalling, the missed call option is greyed out but that has remained on 60 minutes.
Can someone help me out here. What is the dword value for AVAILABLE OPTIONS without this tweak please? it's on 11 at the mo so i'm hoping that's not the standard number and i can change it to what it was before i fiddled.

The SMS tone can be set without using that tweak, as can the LED as it's on by default...don't see the point of that tweak tbh

Hi guys,
I have an SMS related problem that I am hoping you can help me sort out.
Just recently I have stopped receiving sms messages from one contact (my Wife). I get a message tone and the sms logo come up on top bar to indicate that I have a message but it does not appear in the message box. This started happening just a couple of days ago. It doesn't happen with anyone else (no laughing).
I have an HD2; OS 5.2.23569; Manilla 2.5.201; ROM Duttys Holy Grail; Radio 2.12.50
I cooked the rom weeks ago so i cannot believe that is a problem.
Any help very much appreciated

sms notifications not working anymore!

hello,
I'm having a strange problem where my sms notification just won't happen.
when i recieve an sms, all that happens is on my today screen, the "no unread messages" will change to "1 unread message" (or whatever the text is), and thats it.
in my sounds and notifications screen i have it set to
1) play a sound
2) vibrate
3) flash the top right light indefinitely
4) display on screen notification (i assume this is the bit where it pops the bubble down with the message text in it)
it doesnt do any of this!
and it doesn't seem to make a difference if i turn off all the notifications, or turn some of them on, it still doesn't work.
it seems to have happened since it hard reset itself a couple of weeks ago... i dont think it's worked since then..
thanks guys.

Hello,
I've got the same problem, when I check sounds and notifications screen and tap the PLAY icon the notify sound sounds ok, I select another sound for testing.
Sending a sms doesn't trigger the newly selected sound.
Can someone post the registry hive to check if something went wrong in the registry?
Thanx in Advance, annoying that SMS notifications doesn't work anymore..
Tom from Holland
I Didn't hard reset whatsoever.... so little difference.
In the end i think i fixed this by hard resetting again.. sorry! it was a few months ago now.

muliple sms notifications?

hi i was wondering if anyone could shed sum light on this problem for me, a friend of mine got herself a xda mini after being (quite rightly so) impressed with mine but shes having a few problems i never had. when she sends a muliply text of over 160 characters, the notification for sms sent goes off for however many messages it covers say 3 if will sound 3 times, and i carnt change it, also even if her mini is on silent the sms sent notification will still sound(no others do tho) its really starting to bug her now and i was wondering if anyone could shead any light on this as im compleatly stumped, thanks if you can,
I just have sms sent notification turned off, but thats because I don't want it to tell me that I just sent a text. To disable it, edit this registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"= dword:1
->1 to disable
->0 to Enable
If that directory doesn't exist, create it and it should work.
If she wants the notification on with no sound, she could make a wav that is a few seconds long that is silent and replace it with the one she has set as the notification.
(remove the space in settings)
How do you do this on WM6 , I dont see those registry keys.
add the key Settings and then add the DWORD value for SMSNoSent. Soft reset and it'll work. I just tried it...

LED notification possible without SENSE UI ?

I saw the following tweak to enable LED notification:
24. Enable LED Notification Setting in Sound and Notifications
If you want your LED to flash when you have a new message, missed call or voicemail.. well you can't as it is greyed out. However the following registry entries can be modified to enable them or use the cab at end of post. Reset after changes.

Now, if I don't use SENSE UI, how can I enable LED notification after doing those registry changes ?, is it possible at all ?
LED Notification
Yes of course.
With these tweaks, you still need to go into WM Settings/Sounds & Notifications and choose how long you want the led notification to go for, for each type i.e. New SMS
They apply to WM, not sense.

I've installed the led notification cab. I got to the "sound and notification" screen and enabled LED notification (for 5 minutes) for both SMS and unanswered call.
I did soft reset and still I get no LED notification...
Any hint why ?

No Notifications

My Leo does not produce any notification (sound, message. vibrate) at all (SMS, Email, etc.).
I did check the Sense settings (in Sound & Display) and the WM Notifications settings, all seems to be well defined but still nothing.
I did a Hard Reset and restored all my programs & data. It did not help either.
Please advice

Thanks
The Led seems to work, even though it is not activated in Sense Settings. What I miss are the sound indications defined for these events.
Is the CAB you had sent just forthe Led or also for the proper behaivior of the notifications?

LED but I change the notification thing from settings .. Like start>settings>all settings> etc..
Its workin fine here.
Problem solved
I did change the SENSE language registry value to the required value and all sound/message notifications had returned .
Set: HKEY Current User => MUI => CurLang. Change the hexadecimal value from the existing one to 0409 (en-us) - in my case I use English US.
See language codes here. Thanks to RRibiero.
Before doing all that, you have to check if all the relevant languge files with the language codes are stored in the device Windows directory (i.e. the language code is emmbeded in those files' names - some 47 files).

LED Notification for texts and misssed calls not working properly?

Hi im new to the forum and wondered if someone could help me.
When i receive a new text message or miss a call, ive noticed that the LED will flash green for around 5 minutes and then turn off by itself without me touching the phone. Therefore, if I return to my phone after a longer period of time, I wont know if I have a new message or call unless I turn my phone on to check.
After looking into the phones settings: (Settings> Menu > All settings> sounds and notifications> notifications tab> Event: New Message, it shows a "Flash light" option. This is fixed at 5 minutes and cannot be changed on my phone. I suspect this has something to do with it.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way that it can be changed so that the light flashes until the notification is read?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Even with these tweaks, it does not always work.
I'm on 2.01 now, havn't got any txt msgs yet.
Hope this wm build has no problems.
The tweak works on both 1.48 and 1.61
Ive just installed the relevant cab file from the link and tested it. Seems to work now!! Thanks!!
Didnt realise there was a 2.01 out already, the document tab looks awesome!
My flashing green LED works when it feels like it. Sometimes it tells me I have a text message, sometimes it doesn't. I'm presuming others have this problem, it must be software-related?

Is there a registry tweak for the LED notification when a new email is received?
Even after changing the above regestries, only LED notification that works is for SMS.

Tried that, but it doesn't work.
Does the duration have to be changed? It is currently set to 0 (and the cab does not seem to change the setting)?
I'm curious about this too. Seems like a pretty serious glitch, and oughta be easily fixable...
Enable LED Notification Setting in Sound and Notifications
anyone know what the defaults value setting are. For: all 3 lines
