Mp3 control using the volume buttons - HD2 General

Hi,
Please shoot me down if this has been requested before but I can't find anything using the search.
Does anyone know of a way that the volume buttons can be used to skip tracks?
Ideally it would work the same way it did on my oldblackberry, so holding down the up volume key skips to the next track and holding down the volume down key would play the previous track, but tapping the buttons would increase and decrease the volume?
It's a bugger having to take the device out of my pocket, unlock then skip a track each time.
Cheers

This volume control allows to remap the volume keys. Not sure if "next track" command but may work with UP/DOWN navigation commands.

Volume buttons dont work right without single volume control

I've noticed that the volume buttons don't control the volume right when turning off the single volume control settings in the sound tab. I like this, so the RING volume isn't necesarilly the same as the SYSTEM volume. Switching to the two separate volume levels gives unwanted behaviour in sound level as well as functionality of the volume control buttons, using the Audio tab or during a call. To be more precise:
- when listening to an mp3 on the audio tab, and the screen is off, I can press the vol up/down button, but nothing really happens unless I keep pressing down untill I hit 'silent' mode - and voila presto, the music is gone. Hit vol up once, and it is back at the sound level is was, regardless of how many times I press vol up. If I turn the screen back on, vol up/down work as they should (although I have better control on the screen itself);
- when answering or making a call, volume is at max loudness, regardless of the settings I chose beforehand. Pressing vol down shows it at min loudness on the screen, and therefor doesn't do anything - untill I touch the screen to adjust the volume, and then it suddenly is possible to use a lower setting. Weird and annoying too.
So I'm back to the single volume control untill HTC fixes this.

locking volume and ignoring volume button presses.

Hi all.
I find quite often I end up missing calls because the volume has accidentally dropped.
is there any way or app to lock it and ignore the button presses, and maybe re-assing to something else?
thanks
responding to myself here.
I found volume locker in the market which does that.
However, it'd be nice to be able to remap the buttons.
any ideas where to get an app for that?
I hate that feature on the X10.
Who the hell though it would be a good idea to have those buttons control the ringer volume at all times?
I have never required to toggle the volume of the ringer so often that I needed hardware keys for it. Just set it once and forget.
Sometimes I'm in the media player and because a video or song isn't playing I will accidentally turn the ringer volume up or down.
I would love to have those buttons bring up the phone's status when pressed on the standby screen ala Sony Ericsson Dumb phones.

Power button music control?

Volume button track seeking is brilliant. The only thing missing is power button play/pause.
Is there a hack to make holding the power button do play/pause while the display is off?
