Bluetooth headset and a2dp at the same time? - Nexus One General

Has anyone been able to get their Nexus to connect to their bluetooth headset, and also stream music to another device without skipping? I like to stream music while driving but I need the headset too.

It is working for me, at the moment my n1 is connected to my bluetooth headset and streaming music to my laptop via a2dp. no skipping. PC is showing up as connected to media audio and headset is showing up as connected to phone audio.
I paired and connected the bluetooth headset first, then the pc. once i connected the pc, the headset disconnected, but was still paired. I then reconnected the headset and the pc remained connected.
I would make a call to test, but it is a bit late here.

Thanks for the reply. When I do nearly the same process for my car I notice that it streams Pandora without any skips. The skips only occur when I play MP3s and even then it only happens once every 10 seconds or so.
Maybe it has to do with how often the headset and phone "refresh" with each other. I have a Blueant Z9, what headset were you using?

I'm using a Plantronics Explorer 233. Nothing fancy, I bought it a year ago for $30.

I haven't been able to run my factory handsfree (BMW) and a separate A2DP to work perfectly. Music always skips. If I turn Wifi off, it's an improvement, but still skips.
Also, my handsfree is pretty aggressive. Even if I disconnect it, it'll reconnect on its own. Only way to disable it is if I unpair it.

Is my headset behaving properly?

I have an iTech S35 bluetooth headset for taking calls and listeneing to music but everytime I connect it to my Tytn by BT, I always have to go into the settings of the BT connection on the Tytn to 'set as wireless stereo'. I have to do this every time or I can't listen to music - is this right or have I missed a setting along the way?
I don't have the s35 but with my sony ds I just set it up once, if I want to activate it I just press the play button on the bluetooth headset and it goes into wireless stereo, try pressing the power /play button on the s35 to see if it switches, you should only set it once, there are some clips that had issues though, but I don't think the s35 was one of them.
Hey Sean,
I've got the same issue!!! The manual does say after switching the S35 on you shoulf press the MFB to initiate the connection but this doesn't happen!.
I'll try the headset with some other phone like the N70 tomorrow and see what happens there as the headset is in work - no it's not! It's here!!! Let me try and post another reply...
Gav.
Just tried with my PC and have the same issue. Need to tell my PC to connect to the headphone profile after switching on the S35.
EDIT:
Just stole mt friends Noaki 6680 and installed the I-Tech MSI player on it. But you need to configure which BT device the player uses so what i think is happening is that when you play music (can only be with the MSI player for stereo) the software connects to the S35 first like doing 'set as wireless stereo' on the TyTN then plays the music...
Nightmare, might have to upgrade to an R35 or somethigh with a remote as I think the remote command from the clip to the TyTN initiates the BT connection for audio also.

Bluetooth problem

I have a problem with the connecting of Bluetooth and my Car audio, and listening to music through BTAudio (A2DP). In fact when I turn on bluetooth on the phone while I was in the car to establish a connection after 2-3min, but when come out from the car and re-entering the connection will be established. Listening to music over Bluetooth through BTAudio (A2DP) is impossible because they can not find my mobile.
Sorry on my bad english !

This may be basic, but in Bluetooth settings under Mode tab, have you activated your phone so it is visible to other devices?
The phone is activated that is visible to other devices and everything is set. With previous phones all worked ok.

There is another thread with a similar problem regarding a parrot bluetooth headset.
Problem appeared to be an upgrading issue with the Parrot itself. May be a similar problem with your device

Issue with HTC Audioplayer after connecting bluetooth headset

Hi,
I received my HD2 yesterday and I'm loving it. I have one problem though, I usually listen to music via my Logitech Freepulse A2DP headset. When I connect to it via the HTC bluetooth stack, it seems to work, but for some reason the Audiomanager gets messed up. When I try to go to the music library it says no music is found. This happens everytime I connect a bluetooth headset. The only way to resolve this is by restarting it. I never had this problem on my Touch Diamond.
Any suggestions?

Using Bluetooth headset and headphone socket

Sorry if this has been asked before, but i had a look and couldn't find what i'm after.
Basically, my HD2 connects automatically to my car's bluetooth handsfree kit. My handsfree kit doesn't support A2DP so I still need to use the headphone socket to listen to music from the phone through the stereo. However, if the phone has paired with the car, the headphone socket doesn't work and the stereo thinks I'm getting a call when i try and play music.
Is there any way I can enable music through the headphone socket while the phone is paired to the handsfree kit?
Thanks!
anyone? it's really annoying!
This may not be the answer your looking for but have you tried cutting out the middle man i.e. the BT handsfree kit. Just use your phone and it'll patch a call thru the headphones and cancel the music.
Saves removing the headphones each time you get a call.
In BT manager, when you select your car device, what services do you have? If there's a stereo one, untick it.
Nope, just the headset profile. I've also tried turning on/off the option to send system sounds over bluetooth, but no joy. It just seems that as soon as it connects to the car, the headphone socket is disabled.....
OK, so I think the problem was either the tape adapter I was trying to use was playing up or during my messing about with settings I changed something.... either way it appears to be ok with headphones so should be fine with a line in

X10 and BT A2DP...

Hi guys!
So, the Xperia support A2DP just fine, also in combination with my car stereo (a Pioneer Avic D3BT set). However, I find that when I start playing audio (doesn't matter if this is music or satnav guidance) before I start the car (and hence the stereo set), not only will the audio not be re-routed to the stereo, but the phone also fails to connect with the A2DP part. Phone audio (headset profile) is connected OK, though.
Is this normal behaviour/has anyone seen the same behaviour?
Oh, and if anyone has a way of transferring contact to the phonebook of the car, I'd be delighted to hear about it. For me, it will immediately disconnect if I even attempt to transfer a phonebook item.
Hey Stampot. I have a Pioneer BROWSE system(BTB200) and I have the same problem. I find if I activate the phone bt after the car is on, A2DP connects fine. But if I do it the other way around,I only get phone audio. To fix I either have to disable/enable the phone bt or (the faster way) toggle the a2dp option. I'm hoping a de/firmware upgrades fixes the prob.

Its works better when u start the car first and that should not be a problem, shouldn't????
Its the same with every Bluetooth Headset. U can do it with the other way, but u must choose the Audioconnection in the Bluetoothsettings manually.
