I'm using vista home and have flashed many a rom on my hermes with wmdc after following the steps here:
http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=27
My problem is i can flash my hermes but not my wizard.
I get MFC application has stopped working.
Anyone point me to why this is happening as when i've searched the results point to doing the above?
Bump
Just a quick bump see if i get lucky?
Im using Windows Server 2008 64bit so vista modem drivers n stuff are no go.I know how manually select the drivers, but windows just says they are incompatible (INCOMPATIBLE, not up-to-date or anything else - windows just says they perhaps arent good for x64 etc even for the 64bit ones).
So here is what i done and what WILL WORK ON ANY SYSTEM - from win 2000 to win server 2008 64bit or windows 7 beta or whatever your using.
Install vmware (i used VMware Workstation 6.0.4 Build 93057)
Install WinXP-SP2/3 on it
make sure the usb device is selected on the top of the vmplayer.
install activesync, sync the phone.
install .NET FRAMEWORK 2.0 OR NEWER
start the ruu wrapper
flash & enjoy.
no need for crappy drivers, just install vmware, flash, uninstall vmware.thats all.
I have a PDA2k which I flashed to Rom Version 5.60.00 WWE, with Radio Version 1.12.00.
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate x64 and the Mobile Device Center recognizes my device as a BlueAngel.
When I try to update the drivers of my mobile device, I get the message:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing.(Code 39)" I have followed the instructions from the wiki and I am trying with the x64 drivers.
I have also tried upgrading, to see what happens and the upgrade utility comes up with the error message: "Error 150: Rom Upgrade Utility Error"
"This ROM upgrade utility does not design for your device. Please get proper ROM upgrade utility and try again"
Has anyone managed to upgrade with Vista x64 or will I have to use XP?
Thanks
George
BTW I have disabled driver signing on Vista
I have the same problem, and is because the Windows x64 don't use unsigned drivers, so the drivers in the wiki are useless; and if you want to upgrade your device, the only option is make it with a Vista x32 or with a XP.
(I didn't find other solution)
Bye
I thought that the x64 drivers are ok. Have you tried some other driver source than the wiki?
I have tried the x64 drivers from the wiki and also drivers I found after a search in the forums. I guess if we could find signed drivers it would work but for know, I have used my laptop with Vista Home Premium x32 and after 5-6 minutes it was done.
Thanks for the support guys
Hello,

I tryd it already on multiple pc's does someone have a sollution for this problem?
Had a similar issue - no error but device not detected. What I did was open device manager and update the driver for the unknown device - did the trick.

try that, and did you install zune?
and what about windows sdk so it can install drivers as well.
You can also download the "WMDC X64 driver update" and install it, I have had to do that when had USB issues.
When you say you've tried it on multiple PC's. Are the other computer also Windows 64-bit or are they 32-bit. If they are 64-bit then there is obviousley an incompatibility. That's why I stay with 32-bit even though it only supports 3.5GB of my 6GB ram ;/
So, when i plug my phone into to my laptop (windows 7, 64 bit) nothing happens. I check "disk drive" on my phone and press ok and go to my computer and it isnt there. I tried going to the HTC website and wonload the drive but this message pops up when i try to run the driver, "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check your computers system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or a x64 (64-bit) version of this file."
Please help?!?!
When you first buy the phone the SD card has a file on it called HTCDriver.exe use that, I use it on my 64 bit Win7.

thank you!!! couldnt find this!!
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Two different Windows 64-bit installations. I run the HTCdriver.exe (both normal and as administrator) and it comes up in Repair or Remove mode. I select Repair. I plug phone in and all I get is driver not installed. In Properties / Devices it appears as Android 1.0. I've tried removing and reinstalling with reboot in between. Don't know what to try next. Any ideas?
You're in HBOOT mode, I think (not sure, though). This driver doesn't cover HBOOT USB.
Exactly. Solution. Install 64-bit version of PDANET which installs drivers that recognize the device in both fastboot and adb.

Might be a little late, but which drivers are failing to install? I had a couple of issues getting everything configured on Windows 8 64-bit. For the Samsung USB drivers I had to use Compatibility mode for Windows 7 to get them to install. When I installed Windows Mobile Device Center drivers for the DFT image installer, I had to use compatibility mode for Windows Vista. Might want to try using the compatibility mode and see if it helps. You can right-click on the .exe for the driver install and go to the compatibility tab to set the version.
See here for much more detail: sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html
I had the same issue on Windows 8. I then tried it in Windows 7, even then it failed. Then I restarted the system and soon the driver got installed.
