Help with mail and WiFi with HD2 - HD2 General

Hi, I need help with my HD2, cause I have two main problems:
1) HD2 sees my router and connect to it (with some difficulty) but then it's impossible to open any web page
2) I think I configured an account (POP3) but I don't receive any mail

Really, no one that can simply tell me the right options to have WiFi and POP3 works?

it's not that we don't wasn't to help, but there isn't much to work with. I mean before you can fix your pop mail I think you need tutti find out why you can't surf over wifi.
does the phone do anything on wifi? browse? weather? msn?

how to syncronize outlook via VPN & unstabile wifi conne

Hello,
i have a qtec 9100 and for e-mails I use our company e-mail (microsoft exchange server over VPN).
I have the VPN conection already created but how can i turn it on when I need to syncronize e-mails or how should i configure my outlook so it would syncronize via "My Work Station" not via "Internet"?
Also I have a problem with wifi connection.
It is as unstabile as possible. Even when I sit next to wifi router it sometimes disconnects me and will not connect again.
Is there any possibility for me to upgrade the driver or what else could I do?
Marko
i dont have a problem with wifi and use it daily.
it can have performance issues if you wind back the setting to preserve battery, but I dont find it much of a problem at all.
in relation to VPN, a bug in this device that wasnt there before is a need to go into network settings and connect the vpn manually first, before it will work.
in relation to activesync, if your work is using 2003, there shouldnt be a need to use vpn, you should be able to use activesync via gprs/3g/wifi without a vpn, though I found that a bit unstable.
an alternative for email is to use "webmail" which is also possible on your device, but over gprs might be a bit slow.
not sure if you have encountered yet the need for the exceptions to be used for the IP addresses at work that you are using within the VPN settings

that one (excuse my english - third language only) i didn't understan, can you please explain it, thanks

firstly, is your exchange server at work 2003? you dont need to carry your laptop to access exchange server 2003 activesync with your PDA, you can do it direct to your PDA over the internet, if your server is so configured to allow external access to activesync.
exchange 2000 and 2003 also have the ability to publish all of your email, contacts, diaries over the internet via what is called WebMail, similar in nature to a hotmail account or Gmail account. This is done using Pocket Internet and allows access to everything, but your servers need to be configured to access the webmail. It will normally be a secured site, and is accessed in internet using an address similar to https://myservername.com.au/exchange. Then just put username and password.
To get to VPN, Start > Settings > Connections. Go to Connections, locate the area where you have placed your VPN connection, probably my isp, find the VPN tab, press and hold it, press connect. Yes, if you want talk about to many clicks, this is a very long way. You used to be able to do it via the antenna picture on the menu bar, but its gone now and I dont know how to get it back. Have you setup your VPN connection?
A bug in the device is that depending on the circumstances, you try to connect your VPN, it drops off when you try to use it, such as run terminal server or activesync over the vpn connection, it will simply disconnect. this is due to a stupied MS setup whereby it disconnects the moment you try to run any address that has a "." in the address over a "My Work" style connection.
Is your firewall stopping you from accessing the? What is the router configuration? Are you using WEP encryption? Broadcasting your SSID? or are you accessing the settings on your router and allowing a connection based upon named devices such as MAC addresses? Is it established as an access point with security or an adhoc connection?
Further questions, we may have t work on a PM basis if you dont know what these statements mean, and address them one by one, or pay an IT technician that is MCSE qualified to get this working in about 30 minutes.

[WiFi] POP3 e-mail doesn't work

I can connect my device to the in-house Wlan and I get assigned an IP address like it should. I am able to browse the net (IE) using the Wlan and I can even go to the HTTP webmail site but when I set up a POP3 e-mail account I get the error message that I cannot connect with the current settings. Suggestions?
The other strange thing is that I am able to login on a local server using Terminal Services, but I can only connect to the IP address, not the hostname.
Perhaps I should mention that I have an own domain so the mailbox I'm trying to connect is a completely seperate mailbox and should work 'native' with POP3 port 25 settings. This shouldn't be a problem as far as I can see, but it still doesn't work...
I did some more testing, the weird thing is that I can send e-mails using the WLAN connection, but cannot receive them. The connection towards the server seems to be good (I didn't use seperate settings for SMTP) so DNS seems to be correct as well.
Right, I'm not under the impression a terribly large population of users are dying just to solve my problem, but since I located the source of the problem I thought I'd post it here for other users to find.
The problem I was faced with had actually nothing to do with the WiFi at all, it was the POP3 server that was the problem. The connection was fine, sending the mails was fine it's just that the POP3 daemon of the Direct Admin hosting control panel (vmpop3d-e) is unable to work with Windows Mobile 5 due to some kind of problem I don't even begin to understand (nor would I want to).
If you have your own domain and your hoster is running the Direct Admin control panel you won't be able to use the e-mail POP3 function. Instead, use the IMAP4 function which does work.
DA Forum PDA topic
when you set up your mailbox (menu - tools - options) go to the 3rd screen and click options. There you tell it what connection you want. I'd be willing to bet thats where your problem is.
E-mail client doesnt work on my wizard eather. I can receive mail, but sending it is impossibl. I think I tried everything.
If anyone have any suggestions what can I do please tell me.
THX
@primossz, you're pretty active on this forum
You need to first install the client software provided by your're ISP. So if you use T-mobile you can let T-mobile send the parameters via SMS to yor're cellphone. Just login to your're ISP provider for that on the WWW.

Direct Push? Exchange Server?

I am a little confused here. I have a cingular 8125. I have it activesyncd to my two computers (at work and at home) it shows all my events/calendars/task. I also have my email setup, and if i have a wifi connection or GPRS connection, I can check my email.
My question is what is direct push and all that? I just found www. emoze . com that says it will push you contacts and all for you. but i dont understand that. If it connected to my computer wouldn't active sync do that?
On a side note so i dont start a new thread. What is a good Alarm program (lightweight) that woud work
The one on there now...well sucks!
I also have my email setup, and if i have a wifi connection or GPRS connection, I can check my email.

Thats the difference that DirectPush makes... u don't have to check ur mail, it comes directly to ur phone when it reaches ur server... so no more "send / recieve"... it's OTA n live...
mail2web offers this free of cost too n well, u would know the difference when u use DirectPush... the simple pleasure of having mail arrive at ur handheld without initiating an exchange...
cant help u with ur alarm issue, though... never really felt the need for one...

The settings can be found in Settings\Connections\Connections, but not sure what program you can use to schedule connections.
You can also set Gmail as your exchange server if you still can't connect through WiFi.
