From the description:
"The cable allows for simultaneous charging and talking via a wired headset."
Yes
not only "yes you can".. but with that adaptor, you can also use it to use the TV out and use a bluetooth keyboard and surf the web on your TV screen using you phone, and charge it at the same time

Or is there a better quality cable that has these same two plugs ?
Thanks,

Hi a quick question, this Y cable what is it supposed to do? i can see that you have a mini usb output and a 3.5mm jack output, does that mean i can charge it and listen to MP3 at the same time?
Thanks

I am assuming "YES" as that is my goal.
Please correct me anyone if I am mistaken....
it should work. The HTC stuff hasn't changed much so anything that uses the mini-USB for headphones and charging are the same. My last T-Mobile Dash came with a Y that works in that and the Kaiser.

Is it possible in any way to play music through the usb-cable? I have a carstereo with usb in. When I connect an iPhone it plays all the system audio through the car stereo. When I connect my S4 it browses the card for music files. It seems like I can play music that is stored on the phone, but I never do that. I play music from Spotify, Google Play Music and other streaming services, so I need an aux cable in addition. Not very elegant.
Is there any way to send the system audio through usb? There is a dock-option in settings, but it doesn't seem to do anything...
+1
I completely misunderstod the question duh!
Nope. Not possible To stream Spotify on USB because songs are Not properly stored on device. Best way is bluetooth or AUX.

I have an iBolt xProDock in my car, which both charges the phone and sends audio out through the phone's microusb connector. When docked, all audio is routed through the car stereo (you have to tick the checkbox under settings/my device/accessory etc).
The only issue in your case would be that the other end of the xProDock audio cable it has a standard 3.5mm plug instead of USB. If your car has AUX input, you could plug this straight in and get all audio from the phone through your car stereo.

It does have AUX as well as USB so this would work fine. I don't need the mount though, is it possible to buy just a cable like this anywere? Microusb in one end and usb/aux at the other?

Basically the cable has been made to so that when it is plugged in, the phone recognises it as a desktop dock. Thus it is a bit more than just a cable with microusb at one end and usb/aux at the other. (If you are interested in making your own cable, may want to do a search on the resistances between the usb pins that Samsung uses to identify different products plugging into the microusb).
Anyway, I haven't come across anywhere that sells just the iBolt type of cable, but to be fair I haven't really looked/enquired. You could contact iBolt and ask if they'll sell the cable, say as a replacement etc.
EDIT: never mind
I think ibolt do sell the cable separately, check the ibolt thread in the Note2 accessories forum.

Just came across this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2350690 in the S4 Accessories forum. So yes, the cable is available separately.
Hello, is there any way to connect my device to car usb and play audio through the car stereo. I have tried all options after connecting the USB but it just doesn't work. I'm rooted so can use any rooted apps that allow this

I don't think you can play directly from your phone via USB in the fashion that an AUX connection does.
It will work through a file manager in your car stereo, where it reads all the music in your phone, and you can select what you want to play, on the stereo. Like a pen drive connection.
Perhaps a better solution is a USB-C to stereo phono adaptor and use the AUX input?
It's rather ridiculous that this cannot be done on a oneoplus. It works so well on my previous iPhone

So it works like this on the iphone? - You plug in your phone to the car stereo via a usb cable, then you turn on the music player in the phone and it plays through the car stereo.

Anyway, if thats not working then why not just use an AUX connection.
What car is it? Most can bluetooth stream these days via AD2P protocol without the need to physically connect it.

This issue is the quality of music is best via usb
I have a older car 2006 Impala SS and just use a Bluetooth plug in Streambot Mini and with a Bose Stereo the music is outstanding.
It's rather ridiculous that this feature is not there for android. I believe it's a software issue and can be easily implelemented by a mod

Its an Android PIE issue. For me it was working fine with my op3T (on Oreo) usbc to my car audio(Pioneer). But with the 6t it dosent work... I Searced the forums and found out that this is the case for the Pixel and Mate 20 phones also... :/ Sadly we have to wait for google ti fix this issue
Silly idea, but have you tried to turn on otg storage prior to connecting usb.. settings > system ...

It doesn't work even after enabling otg, its a pie issue, would be great if someone can come up with a tweak for this it would be ideal
I've been waiting for so long now. Any updates on the issue advancements?
Just do it.
So yeah the jack is gone. Do we have any solution in the form of an adaptor perhaps, to enable us to charge the phone and listen to music? I know we have Bluetooth earphones but just looking for a solution to charge and listen at the same time?

There are adapters on the market with a USB-C for the phone on one end and multiple connectors on the other end, but the Samsung Members app has a warning against using them. You can wirelessly charge the phone while using USB-c connected earbuds (just make sure your cable includes a DAC)... Or do it the other way around, use Bluetooth earbuds while charging the phone with a cable... Samsung does have an adapter dongle which has USB-C on one end for the phone and several other connectors on the other end such as ethernet, USB-C and traditional USB but even that doesn't have a 3.5 millimeter stereo jack... you could plug a USB-C to 3.5 mm stereo adapter into that other adapter but I'm not sure if that would work and in that case you don't even have the USB type-c for supplying power to the phone anymore... It's bazarre!

Thanks am more interested in the said adapters and am hoping others who have used any particular one can share with me.

At one more thing... Some of the adapters even though they appear to work may feed power into the headphones erroneously. Also the power they feed to the phone through the adapter may be much less so it won't show up as high speed charging. I tried several and none of them would send anywhere near the same voltage from the dongle plugged into the wall - to the phone - so I ended up returning them and didn't buy any more after I saw the warning from Samsung. There are in line voltage meters for measuring this and they are pretty cheap but they also malfunction are break pretty easily. I tried a couple different versions of those and ended up returning them too!

Thanks but I need a more portable option hence the search for an adapter.
Tried this one from e bay (192954915657) a message comes up saying USB device not compatible. Its USBc plus 3.5mm.
I've been using the Airsfish adapter - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LFBCVTY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I need to try that to see if my old Square dongle works with it. Either that or find a Square dongle with USB-C on the end.
Hello i want to listen to my phone audio on my headphones that is connected to the PC. i used to do this with a 3.5 mm jack from the phone to the PC's line-In socket and then in sounds setting on the PC set the line in to listen to this device. is there anyway to do this with the USBC since i have a note 20 ultra now. i have used the app sound wire it has too much latency. u can also transmit the phone audio to the pc when dex is active but even that has too much latency.
maybe i need to buy a converter or something but even that has its down side that u cant charge and listen to the phone as the same time.
idk what to do.
OMG TY this is great. just tried it and i cant see any delay. i had a Bluetooth USB adapter lying around too.
btw i have also bought the 2 in 1 wire to charge and listen but its not working at all. i had bought a simple one for 6 Euros but i think you need one that comes with a DAC or something and it cost around 25 euros.
anyway TY again.
I use the Moshi usb dac. It'll charge the phone and output audio via 3.5mm port. https://www.moshi.com/en/product/usb-c-to-digital-audio-adapter-with-charging-adapter-ipad-pro/silver
nvm found 2in1 converter i wonder will it really charge at the same time.
If you're on Windows 10 version 2004 and have Bluetooth you can use the Bluetooth Audio Receiver app to play audio to Windows over Bluetooth https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/bluetooth-audio-receiver/9n9wclwdqs5j?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
I use this often and it works great, no noticeable latency during my use
