anybody use CE-star suite? I installed diffeent versions of software for windows mobile, i dont remember, thn uninstalled them. now i want to install CE-star 2.8 R3c. it says you device has installed new version, you must install the old version first', but i have nothing to uninstall. how can i solve this problem?
You can go to your 'Program' to check for CE-Star. There's a folder in there with an 'Uninstall' icon for you to uninstall CE-Star.
I'm using TAEL Rom forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=587883
I am having problems getting MyPhone to work, the version that is included in the ROM no longer works without an update, however the update package is unable to remove the old version from the rom, so it is unable to install the new version, could this be because it was cooked into the rom? There is no uninstaller for it in remove programs but I have installed SKTools and I have run the MyPhone uninstaller which was listed in there but I think it has left some traces behind (there is a load of files in my windows folder).
Could someone point me in the right direction as to how to clean up all traces of myphone including registry and files etc as I cannot install the new version, the progress bar on the installer gets to around 80% then my device just freezes and I have to do a soft reset.
Any help would be appreciated
As the title says. Installed the latest version of CHT and now I want to uninstall it. It hangs the phone on both the program uninstall screen and also when it asks me to uninstall "older" version if i try to install CHT again. How do I completely remove it manually? I deleted all CHT files in the windows dir as well as all registry settings matching co0kie and it still detects it and won't uninstall. Please help!
I ran into the exact same problem. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks.
Tried to use root explorer, but after reboot the file appeared again in system apps..
Tried to use terminal emulator that comes with CM 6.1, but got error message "cannot remove , because the folder is not empty" - something like that...
The apps I want to remove are: Maps, Navigation,E-mail,Voice Search,Talk and some others....
By the way, what I shouldn't delete? I mean the apps that can make problems with the system....
Appreciate any suggestions.
Most of those are Google apps so I wouldn't remove them in case you start getting non stop force close errors. If you wanted to remove the files, you would need to have AUFS. Search for it.
Sent from my S-OFF Bell Canada HTC Legend.
hey man,
listen maybe you know what can be a problem with bluetooth in cm 6.1.
can't to connect to pc to send and receive files....

Maybe there is some radio update I should flash?
I'm not really sure but are you using a bluetooth file transfer app?
I only use bluetooth on rare occasions to transfer apps to my Archos...

If U can't remove the apps from /system/app then you probably do not have S-OFF - what does recovery screen say? ..
I have the same issue here on my Legend since it is running hboot 1.01.. darn!
But anyway, you can use android kitchen to mod a ROM .. works nice Link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
Why don't you use an easier method of getting rid of unwanted applications? You can use Titanium Backup, it has a nice exploit discovered by Paul O'Brien from Modaco (more details about it HERE, but if you have CM 6.1 already you are rooted and need only Titanium Back that is already included in CM 6.1 ROM as far as I remember). You just have to go to the apps list, long press on it and from the popup select last option to remove the application.
For BT transfers, look in the Market after an application called Bluetooth File Transfer.

In stock 2.2 it worked fine without any program....
ok..i tried to update my documents to go using android injector and it wouldnt update..
i noticed that the stock docs to go that comes with the acer cant be uninstalled.
So i used an unstall tool to remove the docs to go on the system.
now if I try to inject I get the following error..
pkg: /data/local/tmp/DOCUME~1.APK
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_SHARED_USER_INCOMPATIBLE]
1813 KB/s (5651835 bytes in 3.043s)
I have tried copying the apk to the device to run it, but it doesnt install (i dont get any error)
I cant get the free version from the market to install either.
My guess is somehow I havent removed enough info to be able to install a new version..but i dont know where to go to clear/fix this

DTG is located in /system/app/DTG.apk
I think you need to remove it (or rename it) and make sure /data/app or /data/data/xxx doesn't contain anything about it.
Then, I think you can install a new version after that (I haven't tried that, please feedback whether this works for you)
docs updating
I downloaded the docs to go Prem key.then it came up with a update to my existing apk.I suggest emailing them they reply back quickly.
thanks - i came back to this and magically the free version installed without me doing anything different, and then had no trouble updating.
strange...but i think your advise may be handy for other issues
