$ sign no £ sign on keyboard ? - Hero, G2 Touch General

Hi guys - i have a t-mobile uk phone unlocked on 02 but my message keyboard has only a $ sign and no£ sign - any ideas how to fix this guys?

It's on "page 2" of the "12#" keyboard.
i.e. when the keyboard is displayed, hit the "12#" key to bring up the numbers/symbols and then hit "1/2" (which means page 1 of 2, not half!).
Regards,
Dave

Press 12# then 1/2 and it's at the top

thanks guys - found it - is ther no way to put this on the main keyboard for uk users ? any good keyboard apps ?

Remapping keyboard

Hi
Is there any way to remap the keys on the slide-out keyboard? I want a £ symbol, not the $ symbol, and to enter it I have to get the stylus out and use either the pop-up keyboard or transcriber.
Also, is there any way of choosing which symbols appear on the transcriber pop-up symbol bar, and remapping the stroke used in transcriber for inserting a space? I'm used to the P900 where a stroke left to right would enter a space, just as in the 'letter recogniser' input method under windows. Getting used to the down then across stroke is annoying.
Cheers

There seems to be a method floating around here...
In the interim, assuming your not entering £ symbols constantly, the following keystrokes will get your desired output:
(DOT=bottom left key)
DOT <G> DOT <SPACE> DOT <SPACE>
Its very easy to get the £ on the Wizard. Just type a $ sign, then hold the dot and push the space bar twice. Viola!
there must be a way of making the £ sign the default!!!
Its weird how there are so many versions of HTC products that are all subtly different... on the O2 XDA Mini S you have both - the "$" is mapped to F, and "£" is the V key.
If that helps
(probably not)
na didnt help just gives me a + sign thanks any way.
Does anyone know of a software to remap the keyboard??
read this

and use AEKmap on that link
For those having trouble working the Sym key (dot-letter-dotHold-Sym to cycle through alternatives), please keep in mind that it only works in certain applications. For example, it works fine in Pocket Word - but it doesn't work in the Notes application; on my Qtek9100 anyway

Using hardware keyboard for T9 contacts lookup

If the hardware keyboard is open, from the Today screen my Vario II opens the phone application and does T9 lookup ONLY for the letters that are assigned to a number key, i.e. press dot+(1-0) and it gives you the choice of using the inputted number or inputted letter but press any other letter or dot+letter and the phone application doesn't open. Actually, scratch that if I press either W or X (no dot) it also opens the phone application and T9's contacts with those letters. But no other letters do this.
Anyone get this behaviour, or know how I can get it to automatically open the phone app and T9 contacts for any letter on the hardware keyboard?
I also have just noticed if I press the W or X key whilst on the Today Screen it automatically opens the phone application and uses smart search for a name begiinging with W or X.
No other key does this though.
Anyone else find that there Tytn Variant does this?

My HTC TyTN with latest Cingular ROM does.
OK, so that would seem to mean it is part of the WM5 ROM. So how can we get it to do this for all letters, or rather why do only w and x (and the numbers) work?

One Touch Symbol Entry- What does this do? & How to add "Ü" ?

On Settings>Personal>Input>options
You get this option, may I ask what it does?
I am looking for an option to allow me to add the symbols like the normal
" Ü "
Here in our country we are fond of using this as replacement to " "
Right now with keypad out, I have to through
* Long press > 4.Symbols> Scroll down
to get that symbol.
Is there a way to add that to number "8" key like normal mobile phones?
Up on this, espcially the
"Ü" symbol, is there a way I can edit the keyboard to add this symbol on number 8 key of the keypad

Is it possible to do a ~ on the Titan?

Is it possible to do a ~ on the Titan? I don't see it anywhere on the keyboards. Is it possible to get an expanded keyboard program anywhere to send that key?
Yes it possible but not easy. Hit function then tab an onscreen menu will pop up scroll down three clicks and there it is. Im posting from my mogul so ill throw one up to ~ , you get all sorts of symbols ™ € № {} § those are a few
Thanks. Anyway to map that to a key?
Diamond Keyboard
Use the diamond keyboard app. and just hold "H" and you'll get it. Much easier.
I have had problems using the tilde (~) that you get from function-symbols for our WEP key, so I usually text it to myself from a PC (verizonwireless.com). Not sure why it is different, but this method always works for me.
on a pc one can get any ascii key by holding down the alt key and typing in the ascii value
maybe it works on pda's too
also, you could hit the function key then Q for the @ symbol, immediately followed by Function then Space.

Special characters on keyboard.

Wonder if any can help or recommend something for me.
alot of my passwords use special characters like £ and $ and % and my old HTC one M8 had some of these mapped to the usual letters on the keyboard, so it was nice and easy to long press a key to get the character i was after.
with the default keyboard one the 5 i have to flip to an alternate layout to get the character i'm after.
does anyone know if its possible to change this?
thanks
